I don't know why, but it seems as if the "Touch of Malice" exotic scout rifle never, ever gets used anymore nowadays. I'm really curious because (personally), it's my favorite exotic scout rifle. Why do you guys not use it anymore? Is it too much work for too little reward? Do you think that the main perk is just dumb and not worth the health loss? Leave your opinions below!
Now, on to the main body of this post; the "Touch of Malice" seems to be one of the strongest weapons to use in Destiny for a multitude of activities, but I see a VERY fractional amount of guardians use it. So, I've decided on conveying to y'all how I use it.
1) Don't be afraid of the health loss; if you have a true aim, the Touch of Mercy perk will do its job
2) It's stronger than you think; without weapons of light, it downs 400,000+ on Vosik with constant shooting
3) You aren't forced to constantly use the main bonus; this adds utility to the weapon, which is great
4) Use smart drift control with hammer forged; honestly, nothing is better than those options on ToM
5) It IS usable in the crucible; this thing shreds, but you must manage and control how you use the weapon
6) Full-Auto is a godsend; since this is the max fire-rate scout rifle, this helps so much for consistent play
7) Over-shields like (force barrier & fire keeper) still work to soak up the damage from the main perk
8) The gun is by far the most lore surrounded raid exotic to date, and looks so cool (oh mah ghad!)
9) There are better legendary specials than legendary primaries, so you can pair ToM with EX MACHINA~
10) ToM is one out of two exotic scouts that don't manipulate your stats (not counting Tlaloc)
Overall, the "Touch of Malice" is an extremely underrated gun that deserves much more credit than it gets. Although I do think it needs a buff, it's not in the way you think. First of all, the Touch of Mercy perk should straight up instantly fill your health back up so you don't have to worry about interrupting the dumb regeneration part with your health draining bullets. Secondly, the Touch of Malice perk itself needs to not deal as much damage to the user as it does. Make it minimal, but I (as a user of the gun) find myself needing a bit more health to survive an engagement (either it be PvE or PvP), so if they could make it do even a fractional amount less damage per bullet, that would help this gun a lot. Finally, this gun needs more aim assist; sounds weird right? Well... the Touch of Mercy perk was designed solely for the fact to allow ToM to clear ads as well as destroy bosses, but this can be hard with a base aim assist of 50. When you are constantly hitting body shots on ads, it takes too much of your health in that period of time, so boosting the aim assist would help clear ads and would finely support Touch of Mercy. As always, thanks for reading!

I've been using Touch of Malice in the crucible. I do like the way the perks on it work, even if some of my friends despise it for it. Funny it took my liking of its perks and an Oryx cosplay in crucible to get me to use it. 😝 A pity I'm more of a handcannon guy than a scout rifle guy.... 😖

Honestly didn't even comr across my mind to use ToM so extensively in crucible. I'll give it a go and see what happens.

13 Respuestaswould use it if i ever got it...😭😭😭😭

I would have enjoyed adding Malice to my arsenal, but you have to complete the raid to get it. Because my headset broke long ago and I never replaced it, I have no mic. As a courtesy to other players, I don't do the raid because an inexperienced and micless player is a pain in the butt. No mic, no raid. No raid, no quest. No quest, no Malice. If I ever do upgrade (unlikely but not impossible), I won't leave the store without a high-end gaming headset. Maybe then...

I'm not good enough to get it😭😭😭😭😭😭

1 RespuestaI love using ToM in the Crucible.

1 RespuestaExotic heavies are much better pve. And other exotic primaries or legendaries are better pvp. That's why you don't see it.
-
Glad it works for u but that gun is poop and there are so many better options in my opinion. Used it for the raid and then dismantled it.

1 RespuestaI do think it is the most stylish piece of design on destiny with the whole veiled mystical gyro shite. I die enough as it is though. You are much more likely to see me using red death which is the exact opposite of ToM in every meaningful way I can think of.

1 RespuestaAlso it's ugly

1 RespuestaEditado por TheArtist: 12/5/2016 6:20:40 PMToo many other good weapons in the game, that I don't have to be concerned about killing myself with. Bungie was so worried about the weapon being OP, that they handicapped it in a way that basically makes it too situational.
-
I personally run it with a Vampire Voidwalker build. I can go down really quick but if I'm carefull I'm an unkillable god. Really telling how it must feel to be Hive.

14 RespuestasEditado por Chad Mayuri: 12/5/2016 7:10:33 PMI use it in PvP and I use it in PvE for strikes. I like it but there are better options. We have to look at the truth when using this gun. The truth is that there are better options in every single scenario. Handcannons and Scouts are much better at taking down ads. Shotguns are great on majors and Snipers will do much higher DPS than Touch of Malice. Outbreak Prime is better in PvE as well. If you want to regain health there is always Red Death. In PvP, low rate of fire scouts will kill you faster at farther ranges. Auto rifles and Shotguns will dominate you in close ranges. Handcannons will demolish you in medium ranges faster than you can get their health below 50%. Any Pulse Rifle will kill you faster. Clever Dragon will make the Recoil on the ToM turn into a Haiti Earthquake. Hopscotch Pilgrim will demolish you from long ranges since chest shots count as critical when using it. Mida and Jade Rabbit are much better scout rifles in PvP. It's fun to use but not practical

9 RespuestasWoTM is melts bosses.

2 RespuestasChaos dogma better no health loss

3 RespuestasYou are over analyzing this. It's okay if you love the weapon, but you are taking it too far. Only use ToM in KF or if you want to do something different and want to worry about your health every time you fire. Other than that, there is no point in using it, really. The exotic slot should be used for a better one, and there are many of those.

1 RespuestaMake double damage optional node if it's clicked off you lose damage to your self and acts as normal scout
-
If I could finish the quest, I'd use it. Never done KF. I think I'm about 4 fragments short....
