Someone on this site telling me that the allies were worse than the axis powers during WWII because we dropped two atomic bombs that killed less than 300,000 people.

Someone told me the Holocaust didn't happen, and that Germany was being helpful by experimenting on millions of people because we have medicines for certain diseases
I facepalmed, too
I feel you. Luckily the stupid is decreasing generation by generation. Sort of.

Editado por JTAssassins: 12/1/2016 11:27:42 PMIn War there are truly no bad guys or good guys between the atrocities committed on both sides it's up to you to decode who was right Since history is written by the visitors being the Allies it's hard to have an unbiased perspective on the War
-
Well, war is messy and bad happens on both sides. That goes hand-in-hand with killing people. But it is clear that the Japanese and Germans were the greater evil. They invaded other nations, systematically slaughtered tens of millions of civilians and had a dogmatic belief of superiority/leader worship that negated rationality.
-
I'd say the blame belongs to the world leaders of the axis powers if anyone
-
Well yes, but at the same time it was not the leaders who performed the atrocities, they just instigated and organized it. While they should be held ultimately responsible, there is blame all around.
-
"You" didn't do anything. You weren't even born yet. You had no say in the matter Stop saying "we." And the Allies weren't any better than the axis powers. Those were innocent civilians they dropped the nukes on. They could've dropped them anywhere. On a military complex, or even on a space in Japan not occupied by anyone, just to show the Japanese "hey, look what we can do. Surrender or we'll drop it on a city next time." But they didn't. They chose at will to nuke an entire civilian occupied city. Truman was a terrorist, and one of the biggest ones to ever live.
-
If we didn't drop those nukes Japan would never had surrendered, also we would have to send ground troops there which would estimate millions dying.

Editado por Art Vandelay: 12/1/2016 1:06:38 AMYou didn't drop any nukes there, nor were you going to send ground troops there. Why do people keep saying "we?" None of you participated in any of the events.
-
I say we cause I'm a American, and I take pride in being one.
also y u triggered m8?
-
That's just one of my biggest pet peeves. People talk like they participated in every historical event that ever happened in the country they live in, just because they live there. It honestly makes zero sense to me why people talk this way. It's like learning about D-Day then talking like you were there. "We stormed the beaches of Normandy and broke the Nazii's defense." No, you actually didn't. The brave men of that time stormed the beaches of Normandy. And if you were to actually say that to a vet I highly doubt they would approve. So why talk like that at all. You see what I'm saying?
-
I can see what you're trying to say, but it's pointless to get triggered about it, even historians say "we"
-
Good for the historians.

Editado por Furiously Dashing: 11/30/2016 11:50:01 PMTruman didn't want to use a nuke, but it prevented millions more lives being lost trying to get the Japanese to surrender. If he didn't drop the bomb, the Axis would continue their conquest and kill a lot more soldiers and civilians than the citizens of Hiroshima (by the way, Hiroshima was a military target. The whole base was flattened.) Think about it: -They attacked Pearl Harbor unprovoked, thousands of sailors are killed, millions of dollars in damage and sunk ships. -Kamikaze bombers CRASH AND KILL THEMSELVES to utterly destroy navy ships. -The Japanese attack China and kill large numbers of civilians, destroy towns, and scatter the very few Chinese military units left across the country. -When the U.S. took Okinawa, the Japanese soldiers told the civilians that the U.S. would torture and kill all civilians. So hundreds of civilians jumped off the high shoreline cliffs to their deaths. (Some even slit their kids' throats before jumping to their deaths.) -After Germany and Italy surrendered, the Japanese continued to fight brutally. The A-Bomb saved far more lives than it killed. End of story. It's history.

Are you stupid?

No, are you?

I disagree if you agree with that guy.

Well I agree with him, deal with it.

Ah, so you are stupid. Good day

"We" as in the US jackass The Japanese killed 20 million civilians throughout Korea, China, and the Pacific islands. Atomic bombs killed leas than 300,000. The bombs were dropped where they were because those islands were the main manufacturers of the weapons and machinery the Japanese were using. It's not like the US just picked them at random. I'm not saying dropping the bombs was a good thing, but it ended the war and saved american lives. The Japanese were worse than the Nаzis in terms of body count and I do not have much sympathy for them.
