Ladies & gentlemen, this post is exactly why Bungie hesitates to interact with the community.
Ladies & gentlemen, this post is exactly why Bungie hesitates to interact with the community.
...Because the community expects too much transparency?
-
Nope. Because when they tell people how things work, angry fanboys call them liars.
-
I'm a software developer. I know how it works.
-
Yea well I'm the president of Mexico, & it's pretty obvious that you don't. Kind of ironic for you to lie after accusing someone else of lying to you.
-
Sigh. Look kid. I graduated from Kutztown University in 2007 with dual masters in mathematics and software engineering. Been working for the DoD for a defense company called Lockheed Martin ever since. Choose to believe me or not. It doesn't really make a difference.
-
Editado por Jvp WReNCh: 11/18/2016 7:37:05 AMCool. I wasn't saying you're lying about your career; I'm saying you're lying about "knowing how it works". If you really are a software developer, then you should know that you have nowhere near enough information to definitively say that that guy is lying about how their matchmaking algorithm works. Hell, if you have a master's degree, then you should have taken at least one composition class & learned that anecdotal evidence doesn't make a strong argument. Fun edit: that comp class also should've taught you to say "(sigh)", not "sigh". You told me to sigh, & I refuse.
-
Ps, did you really add a grammar correction to a math guy? Lol. I already think you're an asshole. That cements it.
-
You could've just asked & I would've told you I'm an asshole.
-
Please read more of my responses. I've been tracking this since December. Over 30,000 data points. Dude, that's beyond anecdotal. And given the nature of comments from what others have seen, there's no reason to believe they're any different.
-
Editado por Jvp WReNCh: 11/18/2016 7:45:11 AMLmao. Buddy, if those 30,000 data points are all from your games, it's anecdotal. The only point you prove is that your Internet is giving you a less than desirable outcome when you play Destiny. Feel free to share those data points at any time though. I'd also like to know how a software engineer with 2 master's degrees has drawn the conclusion that out of all the variables that can contribute to people lagging in a P2P system, you've drawn the conclusion that it has to be SBMM & nothing else.
-
Did you take logic? My 30,000 data points point in a direction. From that direction you take the comments of the community and compare to your results and ask if they make sense. It's simple deductive reasoning. And you have none apparently. Or at least very limited. The reason it's valid is because there is no reason to think I'm any different than the rest of the community. I'm one member of this homogeneous set.
-
Again, variables. You don't know the people in the forums, so you can't verify if they're telling the truth about their experiences. Even if they are, common sense should tell you that the people in your camp make up a (very) vocal minority of the people that play this game. Also, more variables. I can assure you that your experience differs from others in the community, because I don't have issues connecting to people when I play. I run into the occasional red bars every now & then, but it's been that way for me since day 1.
-
Sigh. Just, I'm tired of having this same conversation with people who just don't get it.
-
*(sigh). You really shouldn't be having it. You have no idea how Bungie evaluates skill or connection quality, & that's step 1 to knowing which one they're prioritizing. That combined with the myriad reasons that can cause lag issues in Destiny (most or all of which a software engineer should be familiar with. shame on you) tells me & everyone else that isn't swimming in confirmation bias that people like you have no idea what they're talking about. My advice: drop the hot button keyword of the day, & just complain about Destiny's lag as a whole.
-
Who knows more, me or you? Trust me, matchmaking isn't a trade secret. I understand the process.
-
The fact that you think every gaming company evaluates skill & connection quality the same way says that I know more than you.
-
There's a finite amount of ways it can be done. I don't need to know the details to know the general theory. Lol. Kid, maybe you think code is come sort of magic, it's not. It's logical. Go to sleep and let he grow ups talk.
-
Lmao a finite amount of ways, huh? Maybe it's time for you to go back to school.
-
Don't belittle something because you don't understand it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't call something a lie because you don't understand it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Editado por MetalCanine5460: 11/18/2016 6:57:39 AMMaybe because they are liars?
-
Lol case in point.
-
Maybe, but I bet dollars to doughnuts it has more to do with jock riding fanboys white knighting them at every turn.
-
I'd say it's because of the jock riding fanboys attacking them all the time.

^^ Bungie employee or deluded i can't quite decide.
