Dude, Atheon and Crota were just "phases then DPS." Atheon. Three people get teleported, three people stand outside. The three inside tell the three outside which plate to stand on. They stand on it, the three inside get the relic, come outside, and meet up in middle for DPS. That's the entire fight. You do this two or three times and then you win. Crota. Everybody goes outside, while one goes down in middle to get the sword. Everyone focuses on the knight, one guy gets the sword, everyone else downs crota, guy damages him with sword, rinse and repeat until sword disappears. That's the fight. Aksis is no different. You do a set of mechanics and you do DPS. The only raid boss that's damage isn't done by gunfire and rather pure mechanics(bomb detonating) is Oryx. But Aksis is a good raid boss. Don't be blinded by nostalgia.
