I've had this idea for a while, and I've never really seen anyone talk about it, so I decided I would.
My proposed buff would be simple; restore all primaries to what they were when they ruled supreme.
Autos? Back to their strength in vanilla Destiny before the imfamous suros Nerf.
Handcannons? Back to the mid-late DB/HoW meta strength.
Pulses? Back to late HoW/TTK strength.
Scouts? They haven't really had a period of crucible dominance (I don't think so anyway) so give them a buff.
This way, all primaries are in their prime/at their peak performance and might actually get used as primaries instead of secondaries by the majority of the player base.
Edit: this post is not about decreasing the TTK. Its just about changing primaries to what they once were.

1426 RespuestasI can take this feedback to the devs, but first I wanted to get some others to weigh in as I know there are two schools of thought on this. Let me know below if you agree that you would like to see primaries made much more powerful like OP suggested. This would significantly decrease the "Time to Kill" across the board, which would drastically change how Destiny plays. Do you think this would be a positive or negative change?

3 RespuestasEditado por QuiteTheBrianD: 11/7/2016 3:48:44 AMCozmo, do whatever you did during the time around HoW with crucible, and then mess with it a bit so that we get a moderate balance between what he have no (which sucks) and what we used to have (which was more OP, but at least it was more fun) BUFF, do not nerf. I would raise the effectiveness of primaries a decent amount and see how that plays out

2 Respuestasthe last word needs a buff, it cannot compete with other weapons at the low range it is forced to use. the last word need either higher range, higher impact and or the increased damage from hip.
-
I somewhat agree with this but only to an extent. Scouts could use literally a very slight buff. Slow rate of fire autos should hit very hard but be nearly useless in long range engagements. The medium impact autos should have more stability and cause more flinch and be the more consist auto across all ranges. The fastest rate of fire should have a slight buff on stability to make them extremely lethal in cqc (and maybe give them a tighter hip fire spread?) to make them competitive. pulse rifles are generally fine but the highest impact archtype definitely needs a buff, and maybe the red death archtype could use a slight buff aswell. As for hand cannons, instead of bloom, maybe just increase their range and give them less stability so that firing in rapid succession will cause one to miss without properly understanding the weapons recoil pattern. Just my thought.

i agree with that

1 RespuestaSounds like you should play call of duty. I play destiny to avoid cod.

Your supposed buff DOES decrease the TTK which WILL result in primaries being used like they are supposed to be used. So you may as well delete your "EDIT".

Year one baby, revert to year one

Editado por Witness: 11/8/2016 2:29:30 AMCozmo, Please consider buffing all primaries across the board. The game becomes more and more about abilities when guns are weaker, and this game is at its best during the gunplay. Bloom was also a terrible idea and I had hoped that Bungie learned their lesson with the negative reception of bloom in Halo Reach. Buffing primaries across the board and removing all sniper nerfs would bring back the weapon variety and quick time to kill that made this game great. Shotguns would be balanced in the new meta without any buffs as long as ghost bullets on shotguns were removed.
-
Buff Primaries. Anything that requires more than 2 trigger pulls takes more skill than a one/two banger any day.
-
Shotguns have been nerfed and we must not forget that shot package and other perks have been reduced. In my opinion the shot guns are in a great place. Too combat shot guns primary weapons shouldn't have been nerfed in the first place. Bungie needs to buff primaries in all categories. Subclasses need a buff in certain areas that didn't need to changed. The December update (if we get one) needs to address handcannons, RNG Ghost bullets, primaries in general! Bungie should look at year one data to determine why it was good. In conclusion, they should reverse the updates and start fresh and as a going away present they should return all the updates to year capabilities. Just my opinion guys, but something needs to be done because destiny pvp and game activities are hurting players and the enjoyment the game use to have.

1 RespuestaEditado por LordSimmons: 11/8/2016 7:12:17 PM1) I think most of these comments stem from unhappiness with overabundance of shotguns. I'd say most the weapons are already balanced quite nicely.... the actual problem is people have too much shotgun ammo. Decreasing shotgun ammo (both pickups and reserves capacity) would help make the other special weapons more attractive options, and it would force shotgunners to use their primary weapon more often. Special weapons should be powerful, butshould not account for more than 50% of a guardian's kills. 2) A good majority of exotics could use buffs, they need to feel like elite weapons. Too many times, regardless of the activity, people leave their exotics in the vault and use an all legendary loadout. It's fine if certain exotics only excel in one mode or the other (PvP or PvE), but there shouldn't be exotics that never get used at all. Bungie should be able to look at the data and see which are collecting dust, and then buff them to be either an amazing PvP or PvE weapon. 3) Building on previous point, there should be at least one exotic of each type that is meant for PvP. Exotic weapon types you rarely if ever see in Crucible: Auto Rifles, Pulse Rifles, Snipers. 4) Legendary hand cannons and pulse rifles are fine how they are...as evidenced by their popularity; I'd leave those as they are. Scout rifles are probably fine too, but maybe give an increase in the flinch they cause, so they can stand a chance against a pulse rifle at range. 5) It's no secret that auto rifles clearly need a buff. Time-to-kill for the medium and low ROF is just too slow to be usable in PvP. I know with Rise of Iron they adjusted the Impact slightly, but I they need to expand their view and also re-examine the Stability, Aim Assist, and Accuracy stats across the different archetypes. Bungie needs to decide what is the purpose of having each of these auto rifle archetypes? If the concept is supposed to be that low ROF is about precision and accuracy, then a skilled user needs to be able to see the reward from that.

4 RespuestasEditado por Kungen11: 11/9/2016 9:22:08 AM@Cozmo I´m a hardcore sniper... But i liked the nerf to the snipers, it made me use my primary some more and by doing that i got more out of the game and made me a better player, I get in to new situations and move a bit more around the map and you can still get some good hits/kills with the sniper. What i don´t like is that its to hard to counter a rushing shotgun. If they use blink or the shield for striker titan i know that i´m going to die. So what i would like to see is a nerf to the high impact shotguns and small buff to all primary. By nerfing the shotguns guardians get a bigger variety of guns to use. And the buff will make it easier to counter the shotguns but also the snipers. I would also like to see buff to fusions. What i don´t understand with all the previous weapon updates is. Why nerf a specific weapon class and buff another? It´s just switch the meta... I don´t think it should be that hard to have a balance between all the weapon class. So you can play with whatever weapon class you like... Example: Don´t nerf pulse and buff AR, just do one thing. And the meta dosen´t change from pulse to AR. I apologize for my english but i hope my opinion got through.

16 RespuestasOVERALL DISCUSION: 🅰NERF SHOTGUNS, 🅱 "MAKE EXOTICS GREAT AGAIN" (Trademarked by SSBECK) haha j.k. IN MY OWN OPINION: I would have to say I agree. I feel as if Destiny has turned into shotgun wars. Whoever has the best shotgun wins. Someone mentioned if snipers don't 1 hit kill a guardian to the body why should shotguns. I actually think that is a valid point. I think that could turn the game around. This challenges both guardians on a 1v1 situation. The Guardian running the shot gun will most likely slide in for the kill but instead of a 1 shot kill must either land an additional shotgun shot and or a melee. This allows adequate time for the opposing guardian to counter with either primary or a shotgun or grenade himself. While attempting to make it to the lighthouse (like that will ever happen) last night the majority of my deaths were due to getting ran over by the metador 64 or a part crasher. Have you know I too have a metador 64 with pratically a "God Roll" a.k.a. highest range possible It still seems that I couldn't match up to the competition. Having said that I understand I'm not the best crucible player. However I'm certainly not the worst. I can certainly handle myself especially with a Mida Multi Tool. Granted my KD hasn't bee the best certainly thanks to lately getting gunned down by a shotgun every corner you turn. I think that there are several primary weapons that could use a buff but not all prinaries. I think that in order for there to be a greater level of competition there needs to be some level of balance. Instead of Shotgun Trials and Shotgun Crucible let's change it back to when primaries rule supreme. It's fun getting a shotgun kill sure. It literally makes the experience depressing. There is pratically no skill required and there is little to no strategy. I get more satisfaction out of out gunning someone with a primary then just running up behind them and mowing them over. Yes I know it is fun mowing them over but it's such a cheap tatic. • Shotguns need a nerf. • Snipers Remain the same. • Primarys, not all but some need a buff. • Exotics need a buff like the tiniest buff just to make them slightly better then a legendary. THEIR exotics for a reason. • "Make Exotics Great Again" (Trademarked BY SSBECK) haha. PLEASE READ AND RESPOND IF ANYONE AGREES LET ME KNOW.

I agree buffing primary weapons is the way to go. And make the exotic weapons exotic again buffing

Editado por AXELXu7: 11/8/2016 5:08:17 AMRight, so as #Cozmo said, this would drop time to kill, which would exemplify some lag problems part of the community still suffers from. If there were a way to make our health go up with it, it may screw with some of the math, but it would make for more dynamic combat scenarios without affecting lag. It's sort of like; if everything is op, then nothing is op. I like the idea, and I hope they toy with it.

Why not just buff Guardian Armor/Health?

Yes. This NEEDS to happen. I'm on board!
