Truthfully? Do we diversify our primary weapons by eliminating the ones with elements? NO!!!
Removing the elemental primaries had a worst effect on PVE. No one used them for pvp unless it was messenger back in year 1
But Seriously. Ever since the elements were removed I now use the same 1 pulse rifle or the same 1 weapon my character has equipped for pve. Unless there is a burn everyone pretty much sticks with the same primary.
With burn we actually had choices!!! We had the 12 primaries from VoG, Crota, and PoE plus 4 more from trials.
We had a total of 30 primary weapon choices with at least 5 of each burn!!!
Now I am just down to 1 single primary because there is really no point of trying others. If there is arc burn now I only have the zhalo to try instead of 4 other from raids/trials
Bring Back Primaries with burns Bungie. Every time you think you are fixing something you make it worst.
Edit: For those arguing that Bungie wanted the "community" to diversify, that is bull. My point is every individual has their single primary they use unless zhalo is necessary. This makes it no different than when every individual preferred the fate bringer or word of crota or vision of confluence. The point is the community as a whole may have their different preference over primaries but each individual uses their one primary 90 percent of the time in PVE. That is no different than the old days.
Edit: For those saying that there is no variety, if you mix trials primary weapons, poe primary weapons and the raid primary weapons with burns you get over 30 primaries with burns. How is that not variety? Imagine if Oryx, PoE challenge, WotM, and the last two sets of trials also had primaries with burns. You will have 70 primaries with burn!!!! 70 is more than enough!!!

They didn't remove them at all! You can easily go get a few off of some old activities!

1 RespuestaElemental primaries made the game too easy. There is no need for them to return. The only elemental primaries should be exotics.
-
Now that you said that, my vault has a lot more free space than it would have if they kept the elemental primaries.

6 RespuestasEditado por EARWAK3R: 11/5/2016 8:34:04 PMJust because you only use one gun in the entire game (lol) or zhalo. Doesn't mean the rest of us do. Elemental primarys were just decent for nightfalls back when they were slightly tough. We don't really need them. Theres plenty of diversity. I mean the wrath weapons are awesome. The trials and banner weapons are sick. Then even the vanguard sells amazing guns like the palindrome etc. So yeh, plenty to choose from. So just because you gimp yourself by using the same gun with no diversity to your loadout. Please dont lump the rest of us in on such a ridiculous statement.

1 RespuestaDisagree; elemental weapons are what special weapons were intended for.
-
I know but I think they removed element primary weapons cuz we have elements body armor that boost recovery is an add in game.
-
I thought the reason was because it Made everything to easy.

Editado por adsyfindlay: 11/5/2016 5:43:11 PMI agree however I understand why bungie did this. I think the zhalo was the right way to go but we needed more exotics with burns. I think having an elemental primary should take up an exotic slot so that you have to choose. That would increase variety in my opinion as you would then for solar for example; solar primary, black spindle or gjallorhorn or sleeper?

2 RespuestasSpeak for yourself..I use more than 1 weapon.

To your first question. Yes. There is diversity now. I love seeing different weapons being used and I have used so many guns. I love not seeing 6 people using fatebringer, black hammer, and gjallerhorn on everyone's back. I did a raid the other day and everyone was using different weapons. How many times you see that in year one? Don't lie to yourself.
-
They should have introduced a way to make any primary elemental... taking them out completely was a bad move. The only reason they were "op" was because of burns on nightfalls. Everywhere else they just gave you an added little perk of taking down enemy shields of the same type faster.
-
14 Respuestasi think the problem is, that some of us boys were knocking through the nightfalls in uner 10 mins when all 3 players had all 3 slots with the deticated burn on, i think bungie was not happy with this as nightfalls are ment to be "endgame" and abit of a challange, not a quick dash for loot.
-
I'm offended by the way you said we only used one weapon because of elemental primary weapons . I used VoC and Fatebringer. That's two.
-
As it was it was best to be rid of. Not using an elemental primary was a blatant handicap. Not to mention you hardly run out of primary. Especially when you're able to kill things easier. So yeah getting rid of them solved both of those problems in a quick and effective manner. Is there a way for everyone to be happy? Certainly but it's going to take long amount of time to really narrow that down.

Nailed it. Dumbest thing Bungo has done IMO. The problem is that they probably have some idiot at their office that is looking at the usage data and thinks this was their greatest change. Yes, there are more weapons being utilized today than when there were elemental primary weapons. But at what cost? I used to keep a firefly scout and at least 1 primary of each element on me at all times. Now I usually only carry my vendor Hung Jury. I went from 4-6 primary weapons in my rotation to 1-2 (Zhalo for arc burn). Literally everyone I play with is in the same situation. I understand that there is a larger pool of viable weapons now, but does that really matter if most people individually don't utilize that diversity? I don't care what weapons other players use. If everyone else uses the same weapon as me in PVE, why does that matter? That doesn't affect my gameplay experience in the slightest. But without elemental primaries, my personal game experience has been significantly reduced. Seems like Bungie sacrificed individual diversity for community diversity and they're too stupid to realize that's not productive.

Pretty much. I've forced myself to switch up to be different but for me... Zhalo on arc burn and bad juju for everything else. Get that super up asap (especially for a burn modifier).
-
There is a simple easy fix they could of done. Instead of taking things out of the game what about putting stuff in, like I don't know kinetic burn. That solves all the problems right there and adding content. Everyone loves new content, no one loves stuff being taken away.

Bungie: removed elem primaries to promote diversity. Sells og vendor hung jury. Logic

Buuummmmmmmpppp

They are gone, have been for over a year. Live with it.

12 RespuestasAll non elemental primaries were obsolete back then. Its way better now. You can use the primary you like and wint be at a disadvantage. Elemental primaries are also op as -blam!- in year 1. Glad they removed them
-
1 RespuestaI actually raided and played trials constantly back then. Now, I could care less about stressing over trials. The raid weapons are ok, but I also haven't really done it at all. If the primaries were elemental do you even know how fast I would run that raid 3 times a week???!
-
1 RespuestaAll I am looking for is one good reason they should be brought back, because all I see are negatives. They ruin variety counter to what op says, that's just a fact, they make content easier, to the point where it makes the whole thing farcical and a waste of everybody's time, ours and bungie's. So really just one solid reason we should have them back, it might change my mind.

This post is awful.
