Everything I am about to say can be summed up in the phrase "visible reclamation."
For years (in both real time and Destiny time), humanity, with the help of the Traveler's Light, has waged a brutal and costly but successful campaign against the agents of the Darkness. I think it's about time that we saw the fruits of our labor, whether in a later Destiny expansion or in Destiny 2.
EARTH
THE COSMODROME
After a long and arduous fight against the Fallen House of Devils, I think they are done in. Solkis (the Kell), Sepiks (the Prime Servitor), and Aksis (the Archon Priest) are all dead (for those who do not know, Saint-14 killed Solkis). They have no leadership and have suffered incalculable casualties. I think it's high time they exited stage right. The House of Wolves is utterly broken as well. As for the House of Kings, I will get back to them later in this post.
That leaves the Hive. Although they have suffered immense defeats (the demise of their sovereign god-king and his children, as well as all of their worthy successors), they are not a broken civilization like the Eliksni. So, they can retreat & regroup more effectively, I believe.
That being said, THIS is how I envision the current Cosmodrome.
THE STEPPES, THE MOTHYARDS, DOCK 13, THE DIVIDE, THE BREACH, and THE OLD HIGHWAY all still have a moderate Fallen presence, but these Fallen have no house and no allegiance. They scavenge and survive day to day against the advance of Humanity and the Hive. THE MOTHYARDS is where the Fallen and Hive clash, which I will get back to.
THE ROCKET YARD, THE REFINERY, THE BLAST, THE DEVIL'S LAIR, KING'S WATCH, and THE GROTTOS have been completely and totally overrun by the Hive. No Fallen presence whatsoever.
THE LUNAR COMPLEX, SKYWATCH, JOVIAN COMPLEX, and TERRESTRIAL COMPLEX have become a Hive fortress. The Hive are so embedded into these areas that parts have become more Hive than Human, and the JOVIAN COMPLEX is now a miniature Hellmouth, a deep pit fortress completely made of Hive tech and architecture and going deep into the earth (but not as deep as the one on the moon). The Hive pour out of the LUNAR COMPLEX and assault the Fallen in the MOTHYARDS and the Humans in the FORGOTTEN SHORE.
THE FORGOTTEN SHORE, BUNKER RAS-2, and THE SERAPHIM VAULT have all been reclaimed by Humanity! THE FORGOTTEN SHORE has been cleaned up (the ships dismantled and removed), and that nasty run-down building above Rasputin has been converted into a miniature fortress made of a hybrid architecture of the Tower and Warmind architecture with Vanguard symbolism and banners. Lastly and most importantly, there will be HUMAN NPCs!!! They will stand around the fortress, doing random tasks. Guardian NPCs in full Vanguard gear will stand guard at the fortress and some will patrol the area, occasionally being assaulted by Hive from the TERRESTRIAL COMPLEX, which they will promptly mow down (the Guardian NPCs are invincible). One can descend into Rasputin and see human technicians standing at consoles, communicating with and studying Rasputin.
THE PLAGUELANDS as a whole is relatively unchanged, just a significant increase in Hive presence. The remaining Fallen are a mixed force of normal and spliced, a last bastion of zealots clinging on to a doomed cause.
That leaves the House of Kings and the NEW ZONE!!!
THE EUROPEAN DEAD ZONE
This would be a new zone. It would be somewhere in the Alps, centered around what was once a mighty human metropolis, now a pale shadow of its former glory (Like Freehold and the PvP maps). This is where the House of Kings' Kell resides, multiple King Ketches looming overhead. The House of Kings is more powerful than previously thought, being heavily entrenched and armed to the teeth with the best of the best Eliksni war tech. A huge number of remnants from the dead houses have flocked to the EDZ, pledged allegiance to the Kell of Kings and bolstering their already legion armies. There would be only one room held by Humanity, being a forward command post of sorts for the Vanguard. It would also be the zone where there is no challenger race. The Kings and Kings alone rule a huge swath of the European continent.
THE MOON
There is not too much to say about the moon. It is a desolate place (even more so than before). Its surface is littered with innumerable Human, Eliksni, and Hive corpses. The Hive have been so severely wounded with the fall of their most powerful leaders, many have retreated to protect and reinforce their dwindling numbers on the Dreadnaught. The House of Exiles is all but extinct, their numbers thinning by the day. Humanity, although planning to one day reclaim the moon, have left it to its fate. The moon is silent. Even the cries of the Hive can barely be heard from the Hellmouth. They have hunkered down and bide their time. If the Hive have anything, it is patience.
VENUS
Much like the House of Devils, the House of Winter is all but eradicated. Their leaders - Draksis (the Kell), Simiks (the Prime Servitor), and Aksor (the Archon Priest) – are dead. They have suffered heavy casualties at the hands of Humanity and the ever advancing Vex. Skolas attempted to conscript them into the House of Wolves, but he too was quickly destroyed, along with the Winter Fallen that aided him. Like the other Fallen Houses to be decimated, the remnants of Winter fled to the EDZ to serve the House of Kings.
That leaves the Humans and the Vex. THE ISHTAR COMMONS, THE HALL OF WHISPERS, and THE ARCHIVE have been reclaimed by humanity. The Vanguard guards/patrols these areas while regular NPCs do random tasks throughout. N/GEN BRANCH, DIG SITE 4, and THE NEXUS have been quarantined and sealed off. The Vanguard has set up a formidable barricade, watching for any Vex that may try to strike them from this back door. The ISHTAR ACADEMY is where Vex warp in and attempt to fight the Vanguard NPCs, which terminate them on sight as they do in the Cosmodrome.
WINTERSHIP SIMIKS-FEL is gone. It relocated itself to the EDZ.
The entire rest of the map is overrun by the Vex. New spires/structure have sprung up all across Venus, bringing with them a greatly increased Vex presence. THE HEADLANDS, SHATTERED COAST, ISHTAR CLIFFS, WAKING RUINS, THE CITADEL, CAMPUS 9, ENDLESS STEPS, THE JUNCTURE, EMBER CAVES, WINTER’S LAIR, THE CINDERS, ASH COVES, and WINTER’S RUN have been completely conquered by the Vex. However, the Vanguard are successfully holding out, for the Vex too have lost many immensely powerful Axis Minds, such as Atheon and the Sol Progeny, and are significantly weakened.
MARS
Where to begin here? If any race has proven their might and prowess in every way, it has been the Cabal. From battling the Vex, Humans, Hive, and Taken all at the same time while holding their own (for the most part, at least) to crashing their ship into the Dreadnaught to almost actually succeeding in destroying it (freakin’ Guardians ruined that), the Cabal are mean mother f*****s. That being said, this four front war has worn them down. Their base on Phobos has been leveled. Their commanders are dead. Their ranks are broken. However, their resolve has never been stronger.
Using heavy demolition charges, they obliterate THARSIS JUNCTION, halting Vex reinforcements and collapsing multiple city blocks. FREEHOLD STATION and THE BURIED CITY are a vast, rubble-filled crater. They also demolish the gate to THE BLACK GARDEN, effectively eliminating the Vex threat on Mars entirely. Having suffered heavy casualties, they have pulled their forces back and dug in at VALLEY OF THE KINGS, CERBERUS VAE III, TRENCHWORKS, IRON LINE, THE LEGION’S KEEP, RUBICON WASTES, FIREBASE RUBICON, and SCABLANDS.
THE BARRENS and THE DRIFT are void of all life. THE CORTEX, OVERWATCH, DUST PALACE, and THE HOLLOWS have been reclaimed by Humanity. These areas are directly linked to Rasputin, so the Humans see them as invaluable. Like the others, Guardians patrol and guard these areas, NPCs do whatever, but the Cabal do NOT attack them. The Cabal are awaiting reinforcements, which as we know from Taken King, are coming.
THE STATE OF THE ELIKSNI
My greatest hope of all is that the Eliksni will become a playable race in Destiny or Destiny 2.
The Eliksni, who were once disciples of the Traveler, have the ability to wield the Light and fight for good. They did in fact stand against Oryx at one time (which resulted in their civilization’s collapse). That being said, there is already a perfect set up for them being playable: The House of Judgement.
Variks, The Loyal, would become their Kell. This is important, because he is on a personal mission to seek out the true Kell of Kells to unite the Fallen Houses, which would culminate in him finding it to be himself. He would call all of the disenfranchised and despairing Fallen who are tired of fighting against the Light to join him and aid Humanity and the Awoken. The Awoken themselves, now leaderless and broken, would join the House of Judgement. Petra Venj would be made an honorary Baroness. Variks would appoint an Archon Priest and they would build a new Prime Servitor.
For those who don’t know, all Eliksni are Vandals. Dregs are Vandals with their 3rd and 4th arms pinned to their bodies (and a tad less Ether) until they prove themselves worthy. Captains are Vandals given a greater dose of Ether. Ether makes Eliksni grow in bone structure and muscle mass. This is why Captains, Barons, Archons, Archon Priests, and Kells are so much larger than Vandals/Dregs, the base Eliksni form(s). So Variks, being the new Kell, would be large and badass.
Players would play Vandals.
They would have a new social space which would be Variks’ Ketch. This would be docked at the Reef, combining the social space already there (Vestian Outpost) and a fully explorable Fallen Ketch.
Anyway, these are my hope and visions!

4 RespuestasI don't agree with being able to play as an Eliksni. In the end, they're a broken race doomed for extinction (that is, unless they can establish a foothold in the European dead zone. That is a great idea, and it only makes sense for the House of Kings to abandon their post in the Cosmodrome since it's being overrun as is). As for Mars, I don't think the vanguard would have let them level freehold. There are scouts in the area that would have allowed a guardian mobilization to stop such an action, especially considering all the valuable tech that is in the city. That's one of the reasons why the Cabal never destroyed it, and they wouldn't destroy it now since the vanguard has done well at keeping them from important tech. As for the black garden, it is permanently anchored to the interior of mars, and you can get to it through the train tunnels now. The Vex would never allow the Cabal to enter their birthplace, and if anything would fight harder to make sure that the Cabal don't step foot inside their holy ground, at least until they can return it to their own world (which we stopped the progress of by killing the ancient mind (I don't remember the name, it was the mossy one with three shields that dropped imago loop). The cabal have been fighting well against the Vex, and would most likely push harder to get rid of the threat, but I think the Vex would push back just as hard to protect the black garden. The Vex would likely have a tighter grip on freehold, which would be another reason why the cabal wouldn't have been able to topple the skyscrapers. The areas that each faction holds could have been switched up, but the Cabal would be struggling just as hard against the Vex as before. I don't think the vanguard would have let the hive spread so much in the cosmodrome. I think they would be just the same size in number given the lack of leadership from the moon (the hive in the cosmodrome came from seeders from the moon, after all) and the splicers pushing hard into their already dwindling and struggling territory. I think the vanguard would have built more strongholds, like in Skywatch, to curb the threat of the Hive and protect valuable tech. I like the idea of a mini hellmouth though, although I think it should be more like a hidden hive hatchery, breeding a small army to take over the vanguard strongholds and overrun Fallen territory (however broken they may be). Other than that, I like your points. This should definitely be a part of destiny 2, but we'll see.

6 RespuestasEliksni Guardian = Dual Wield
the advantages of four arms
1 RespuestaHonestly, found this boring. Seems like you miss WoW a lot. We reclaimed the inner system. Let's get out of it.
-
3 RespuestasMy vision is fading, but can I help it?
-
The Cabal are built to obliterate and conquer territory. This explains why they are so durable in a four frontal war. However, over time their ranks have been killed off and that has weakened their grip on the front. But remember, they are also currently having some beef with the crippled Fallen House of Wolves. So would that make 4 and a half fronts??

4 RespuestasThank you guys & gals so much for your feedback, likes, criticisms, and support! I did not expect even remotely this many responses, but I am very grateful! Maybe one day I'll finish what the character count stopped me from writing! XD

The Queen an the Prince are still alive. Well atleast the Prince is, hes just wounded somewhere in mars. And i believe that the Queen transfered herself to an oversoul or something like that, but we havent heard the last of her.
-
I like it, save one thing: I don't see Petra and the Awoken bowing to Variks. Why would they? I think that's where your biggest issue is. The Awoken aren't going to let him get that powerful and if he does it on his own, that's grounds for war.
-
I enjoyed this. I like a lot of the ideas in this however I would like that the reef have a faction to join and that we get some new content with Ahamkara.

1 RespuestaI wish bungie put half as much as what you put into this post. Destiny could have such a deep addicting story & the lore is there. Just bungie cares about selling vanity items from eververst kiosk instead of producing a real product. I hope destiny 2 is what we all dream about.
-
Brilliant post, would definitely love to see the Eliksni as a race to play as. (That may even be a gateway for even more playable races as well?) Would love to see more Vex and Cabal focus in the next game as we really don't have much backstory on them besides Atheon and the Sol Progeny. The Cabal definitely are some mean mother f***ers, and would love to see a greater story on them. Wonderful read op. :D

5 RespuestasAksis is not the devil archon priest. He is the Devil Splicer High high priest. We killed their Archon in Vanilla Destiny. Third ish mission
-
2 RespuestasRecomended read for when taking a duece duece. Good post op. 😀
-
It would be cool to see some NPCs fighting along side us. Like the Red Jacks for example.

1 RespuestaWho else thought of the vision of confluence when reading the first part of the title?
-
Eliksni race is a nice idea. Colour customisation, obvious. Voices, maybe like Variks, maybe a Saints-Rowesque 'just eliksni but nobody passes comment'
-
Honestly I agree with all that you said. Thanks for the great post

Editado por startrekker96: 11/2/2016 12:23:01 AMIf I had one piece of criticism to make, it's that we don't know the fate of Simiks Prime (House Winter's Prime Servitor). We can assume it was destroyed, however it could just be that it is on a top-priority mission of utmost importance elsewhere on Venus. Or, it was removed from the timestream by the Vex when it invaded the Vault of Glass. Either way, a good post. Kudos to you, I hope that we see something like it in D2 (next autumn/fall) or a subsequent expansion.
-
Also make queens guard more relevant and a faction
-
Make eliksni a class, also give eliksni some sort of side arm dual wield. Also, players lvl1-20 on eliksni are vandals, at I'm 20 their armor starts to look more like a captain's and they look more like a captain
-
You made my day when you said the cabal are mean mother f####ers XD
-
1 RespuestaBump for later
-
1 RespuestaThis is really well thought out. My only issue would be certain technical gameplay things, like balancing the fact that the eliksni have four arms, and doing something to make the three already-established classes as viable and appealing as them.

1 RespuestaEditado por xRyuVx: 11/1/2016 6:52:04 PMPart 1 of text wall of hell. I personally think the Vanguard needs to focus on clearing out the house of kings, I know a lot of people are going to be mad with more fallen content,, but out of all the races the fallen are the ones who keep stabbing us in the back after every victory. So I say the first part of destiny 2 should be a push into the European zone and maybe conclude it with a raid that ends with us hurting the Kell but not killing him, the kings could escape and before we give chase we return to the surface and find the tower and the city is being overwhelmed by the Cabal. This way it's a good way to introduce new players to game play and could be destiny for take on a large scale battle.

Have fun being disappointed.
