If the Exo Stranger isn't a guardian, then what is she?
Have you ever thought about that?
She said she was not forged in light, yet she still has a power, the power of time travel. Could this mean that the Light and Darkness aren't the only sources of power in Destiny? Could we have a subclass in a future Destiny installment that allows us to manipulate time like the Vex? Imagine how amazing a raid like that would be. The final boss battle in a Vex raid would be us guardians using time as a weapon against them, traveling from one point in time to another. Bungie please take notes
EDIT: When i talked about a raid, i was talking about how amazing it would be to use a time SUBCLASS against the enemy (the Vex, in this case)
EDIT 2: Could she have the device that was created by Clovis Bray when they were researching on a Vex unit? Like, did she attain its power or something?

2 RespuestasMost tend to believ she is either Dr. Shim or one of the docs working with her whike they were experimenting on the vex. It's entirely possible she moved her consciousness into an exo to stop the vex. Could be that she/they unlocked the key to vex time travel and installed on her exo body. So while not technically "of the light" she still fights to stem the darkness as best she can. With science and bullets.

2 RespuestasConsidering she can time travel, my first impression instantly tells me that she has something to do with the Vex. Remember the description of The Stranger's Rifle: "Ghost's analysis shows that this weapon has been exposed to incredible forces, and that parts of it shouldn't yet exist." Having a weapon like could mean she just ripped it off a Vex she killed, but the fact that she herself can warp through time means she is connected to the Vex themselves. Whether this is good or bad remains to be seen.

Well. As far as I know. She could have been the un-named disciple of Osiris. Who was banished due to become obsessed with the vex, like Toland did with the hive.

She has the potential to be an epic part of the destiny story. After reading all these replies though I am sad to say none of it will be true. Honestly with the way destiny has operated I wouldn't be surprised if she never comes back. Each expansion they told us we were getting more of a story, and each time I feel like it was actually less. So I hope they do developed some of these characters more.

The grimoire talks about names/ faces change but the events are still the same I think she is trying to prevent some kind of extermination level event. And everything we've done so far aetheon, crota, oryx, skolas, Aksis, are just pieces that if left alone result in humankind going extinct. That's why she knows where to be when cuz she's done it multiple times Proof: destiny intro has rapidly changing scenery, vex have time rewind/ stop power, the device. She was at twilight gal I believe, she helped kabr stay alive possibly long enough to send the signal in paradox which kept the Taken from the vex time tech What do y'all think?

What if for a warlock subclass they could use I deferent version of the nova bomb but when it exploded it just freezes everything around it. Not like a ice freeze but a stop time in that area kind of freeze. You could do some cool stuff like that.

The chick that hosts Iron Banner now has already alluded to how there are different ways to use light. She teases in dialogue that she hopes to teach you someday. Her fellow Iron Lords, that are somewhere in outer space, must have some sweet knowledge.

I really get a Trunks from DBZ vibe about The Stranger. Maybe she is from a time when things are even worse off for humanity than they are now. Maybe no one stopped the Black Garden or Atheon, maybe even Oryx. Now in the future Guardians are extinct. Perhaps someone created her to go back and guide us along a path to stop all these threats. From the Lore it says that she has helped people who were in danger, she also apparently helped Kabr in The Vault of Glass. Without Kabr's sacrifice, we would never be able to use the Aegis to defeat Atheon. When we spoke to her on Venus and she needed to leave in a hurry, perhaps the people who created her were in serious trouble.
