Can't play competently anymore
I used to always be positive, had a kd of 1.8, felt good playing this game in every meta up till now. I don't know what it is, ever since ROI I can barely stay positive now. I try to play carefully and not be reckless and strategise according to the game mode but I can never even stay barely above positive anymore.. Maybe because I refuse to play shotgun? Pointless post I know but this is depressing the hell out of me and I need to vent somewhat.

Don't worry about it bro. The pvp in destiny is a joke and should be laughed about accordingly. Lag every game, ghost rng bullets etc etc I personally wouldn't get too uptight about this horseshit 👍🏻

4 RespuestasBasically I can echo most everyone. I went from winning >50% with a near 2.0kd. I'm now losing most every game and KD is down to 1.7ish. I'm no god and I don't put too much weight into KD as an indicator of skill but my god does fun go out the window when every game is sweaty as can be and you consistently are getting whooped.

3 RespuestasIt's not you, they changed something in matchmaking....it's happening to everyone, it's putting me against full fireteams of 1.9+ kd players almost every game since ib dropped, I checked my games and it all started when ib dropped, I went from playing 1.2 kd players to 1.8+ kd players(which is way above my skill level)....so I'm playing other games(GTA online) until they fix it Add me on ps4 if you play gta online, jlboozer...peace!!

6 RespuestasEvery expansion crucible gets just a [i]little[/i] bit worse. Albeit sniper usage has dropped, but the absurd shotguns in this game are practically the same thing..

I have the same problem too. This Meta is all about charging in recklessly and giving zero f**ks, killing everyone in one shot with a shotgun, while moving too fast to be affected by Fusion Rifles, and primaries slow Time To Kill. I finally gave in on the last day of Iron Banner, and played on my titan (defender... Still cant bring myself to striker or hammer) with a shotgun. Holy cow did crucible become much easier. All of my skill couldn't compete against a shotgun, without a shotgun. So now that I am on the same grounds as all these skill-less newbies, I walk all over them. I felt so dirty tho :( Proves my point tho. If someone with NO skill can do so well with a shotgun, imagine what someone with High skill would do with one. The field becomes level, and it allows the person with more skill to shine... Kinda reminds me of Connection Based Matchmaking VS Skill Based Matchmaking. I opt for Connection based, because everyone is on an even playing field, and the team with more skill will win due to their skill, rather than win due to the bad connection of Skill Based Matchmaking... I digress Hope you consider this! You will find Crucible more fun if you get over your pride, and try using a shotgun, and be as cheap as you can. Because we all know, Crucible is no place for playing fairly... (thats what Bungie said... right? Its hard to tell with the balancing they do)

Most off time one fireteam is doing extremely good. While the other team gets slaughtered. Think the matchmaking system is screwed up completely. Bungie are you reading this?

Having a similar problem but wasn't very good to begin with. I was a shotgun warrior running a high impact scout. Been using a pulse and Plan C and am starting to bring it back. Also switched to med impact ROF scout for bigger maps. Play around with what you got laying around.

You can easily go through a rough patch, try taking a break and come back fresh. Or maybe the meta just no longer suits you? I used to be crap at MW2 but used to be one of these assholes with 30-2 in black ops just like i used to dominate in in halo reach where before I was not a particularity great in halo 2/3.

Agreed. It's hard to find a match that's not a full fire team, especially in RIFT for some reason. I waited nearly 20 minutes jumping in and out of matchmaking to try and find a match that wasn't a full 6 person fire team waiting to destroy some solo players. I can't stand it. I've brought my K/D up to 1.57 and now I'm down to 1.47 since they dropped Iron Banner and added in a new matchmaking system without saying anything. The matchmaking is horrendous and the shotgun as a primary BS is getting old.... really fast. It's definitely not you as everyone is in misery.

Some of it is a change in mm, some of it is a growing load on the internet during peak times, and some of it is the game forcing you to use guns that seem to be more affected by latency. Shotguns are big in supremacy, but my shotguns seem to have a 50/50 RNG on whether they'll actually fire when I pull the trigger. Same with fusions. Sidearms seem much better in that regard, but they can't deal with shotgun sliders. I played IB a couple nights from midnight to 3:00 am. The games were mostly great with no latency.

I'm assuming you are playing iron banner/supremacy for pvp, since that's what it was last week: If you are trying to snipe in supremacy, you're doing it wrong. I used to be a 100% sniper as well, then I threw on a universal with a shadestep hunter and I dominate in supremacy. I challenge you to do the same, it'll be ugly the first week or so, but once you get used to it, it gets better

Same for me (although starting at more like 1.35 k/d on my main). Some factors for me that don't involve stealth changes include: Having new maps make it harder at first since we can't predict enemy movement and don't know all the angles. I played a few old maps and was much better again when I knew what to expect and where to be to control angles. The new maps are mostly small (to me) and encourage CQC, which puts us in 50/50 engagements a lot. That is a path to lower k/d. Supremacy encourages low K/D play, especially on small CQC maps. If you do all the "stay out of CQC" stuff to keep K/D up you don't collect crests. With the two weekly Shax bounties plus IB making us play Supremacy, we've probably all had some k/d drops. I'm still maining a Hunter. Warlock would probably be way better with all the CQC on small maps in Supremacy. I do think Bungie has made stealth changes, made spawns worse, made matchmaking worse (for me) etc. but these other issues are something we can actually work around. Learn the maps, don't play Supremacy and charge at every dropped crest if we are trying to maximize K/D, etc. To help with the mental side of this, maybe try playing some classic (if they still have that) with familiar maps and see if that is better.

No I think they messed with SBMM. I used to go positive most matches And was steadily increasing my KD over the last 3 months then on the 7th it all went to shit. Lucky if I can get a 1.0 KD in a match Check my stats on destiny tracker (standto2004)

Same here. K/D has been slowly bleeding since RoI. I have tried different setups, but it doesn't seem to matter. I am pretty much an average player. Despite that, I spent 45 minutes in a Clash lobby with tripleWreck last night. I got my ass kicked.
