YouTube videos shouldn't be a way to make a living, anyway.

Agreed.

It's cool that they get paid but a lot of videos that I watch leave me wondering why they're getting paid for that.

They're basically entertainers, the only difference is that they decide how they work.
They're basically entertainers, the only difference is that they decide how they work.
I don't disagree. But they aren't paid for their work, they're paid to host ads. If I'm a party clown, I get paid $X to show up to your kid's birthday party. That's what I charge for entertainment. If you post YouTube videos, you aren't being paid specifically for providing entertainment.
-
How is that any different than television shows which generate money through advertising? A person creates an attractive form of entertainment and this draws viewers. Companies who want to target these viewers pay for ads.
-
yea with YouTube its worse; you are paid to wear a commercial on your video; its like paying a door to door person to go tell everyone about your product with a comedy sketch
-
That's what YouTube red is for.
That's what YouTube red is for.
Right, which is a different service than regular YouTube.

Um, PewDiePie? He makes $2.5-$4.5mil each year. Leafy? With just 4mil subs, he makes a good $500k-$1.5mil each year. Pretty sure Max is just envious of all the cash the top YouTubers are sitting in.
-
Why not? I say if you can generate adequate money, do whatever the hell you want.
-
Why not? People want entertainment, is it unreasonable to ask for money when providing said entertainment? Especially when it doesn't cost anything to the consumer?
Why not? People want entertainment, is it unreasonable to ask for money when providing said entertainment? Especially when it doesn't cost anything to the consumer?
There's a difference between charging for your videos, and monetizing them via YouTube's ad services. I understand creating, shooting, and editing quality videos takes serious skill, time, and equipment. If you're doing it for more than a just a hobby, you probably want to be making some money. If you want to charge for your videos, YouTube is not the platform you want to be using, as YouTube isn't paying you for your video, they just run ads on it.
-
That's what I'm saying, getting money just from ad revenue is fine.
-
That's what I'm saying, getting money just from ad revenue is fine.
...until YouTube decides to demonetize your video and/or account for ambiguous reasons.
YouTube videos shouldn't be a way to make a living, anyway.
And why is that?

You could've at least copy-pasted your previous comments Why argue of you're lazy about it?
You could've at least copy-pasted your previous comments Why argue of you're lazy about it?
Because there's almost 30 comments below this. I'm not going to copy and paste each comment and reply.

Is it that hard
Is it that hard
Hard? No. Tedious? Yes. In the time it took you to reply to these comments, you could have read the entire thread.

That's debatable. Not that i disagree with you.
