Destiny 2 opening speculation.
So with the release of Destiny 2 foretold in 2017, these are three of the ways I think it could open.
1. You remember the Psion Flayers? Well they pulled A MOON FROM ORBIT AND KEPT IT THERE. We killed 3 flayers but Phobos has not crashed. If there are more flayers, they can be ordered by the cabal to crash it into mars, or maybe crash Luna into Earth. Alternatively, the psions could rebel against the cabal, starting a civil war that could destroy a lot of our solar system.
2. Rasputin does not like the Traveller. If you read the grimoire on him, you discover he was the one who controlled SIVA and let it loose on the iron lords, purely because they were guardians who entered Site 6. We also know that 'he doesn' t usually welcome visitors', and the last team before the Fallen S.A.B.E.R strike were brutally killed by him. Rasputin could decide to destroy a lot of the tower before we could even react. At this point Rasputin is a free agent. He was the one to cripple the Traveller, and he could do it again.
3. The Wrath of The Sky. This one is pretty far fetched but hear me out. So we know that Rasputin crippled the Traveller to prevent it from leaving, but does the Traveller know that? For all it knows, is it came to Earth, the darkness found it and it couldn't run. It can't even trust its own memories anymore. The Traveller has been shown to try and wipe out entire species just to stop the hive being born, and if it thinks we deliberately kept it trapped on Earth, this would be a fight we couldn't win. It could destroy our ghosts, steal our light, or maybe even go back to the Fallen.
Anyway, these are my theories, let me know yours.

11 RespuestasIt better open with tower being attacked by the cabal, fallen, vex and hive from all sides and every guardian needs to defend tower. Also destiny better be far more focused on the RPG aspect with the fps aspect being secondary. If destiny 2 is not like this it's not worth buying.

I love the idea of Rasputin being a fully sentient Warmind. Right now, he operates mostly off of algorithms and complex math. I think it would be particularly interesting if we see him start to develop something like emotions. What would a machine do if they felt anger for the first time? Or sadness? Or guilt? Or happiness? It's an interesting avenue that not many games care to explore.

It is going to start with a cut scene. Something that answers one question while asking 10 more. That has nothing to do with the rest of the game. Probably something that would be awesome to know about, but bungie loves treating the players like mushrooms. Keep us in the dark and feed us nothing but shit.

11 RespuestasThere's so many things they could do with 2. We haven't seen the queen or her brother since the opening of taken King. Where's the exo stranger been since the end of vanilla destiny? We haven't seen any of the true cabal leaders and still need a raid/update dedicated to them, i don't see this being the first thing we do in destiny 2 but who knows. Rasputin is not a warmind anymore according to Saladin and he did unleash siva, I feel like siva will ultimately become a bigger threat. (Also he said Rasputin tried to take a physical form, raid boss maybe?) The fallen/hive/taken are pretty crippled at this point and their most important leaders are dead (oryx Crota and house leaders) could an alliance form or will new leaders rise? The vex can travel through time! They could do just about anything with them. There's so much they could do

1) remember the story of the traveler, speaker and the Exo stranger? Well forget that ever happened. That's right, they mysteriously left and can't be found so we are moving on. But remember Doctor shim? We gonna find out their gender identity.

Well it's already been leaked that there is gonna be something called "play-in destinations". Here's hoping that means we can fly our ships from planet to planet.

2 RespuestasHow about the new social area is a staging ground for Dead Orbits fleet. A group of guardians take to the galaxy to stop the incoming cabal war machine. Along the way we explore various new star systems and make a few friends who have been at war with the cabal with our help we turn the tide of war and destroy the incoming fleet before it enters earth star system. While out in the galaxy we discover new races, technology, light "subclass" and other cool things. "Ability to travel between the new galaxies and earth we would use "something similar to a star gate or what the gate lords use to travel great distances." Destiny will need to make this a huge game like the new mass effect.

So when Rasputin attacked the Iron Lords, why didn't he drop a warsat on Felwinter Peak? Attacking implies provocation. The Iron Lords didn't like his answer about SIVA so they attacked him. Maybe he was trying to stop a bunch of naive young Guardians from unleashing a power that they had no hope of controling. And let's face it; if Rasputin really wanted to eliminate the Guardians, he could do it in an afternoon.

7 RespuestasRasputin didn't cripple the traveler. It sent out ghosts to use us to defend it. The missing parts on the bottom of the traveler are our ghosts. If every ghost went back to the traveler, it would be complete again... Also, if they actually don't let us bring any gear forward into Destiny 2, the opening cinematic should be a cabal blitzkrieg that shows them bombing the reef, iron temple, and tower. Part of their destruction is the vaults. Easy and clean explanation for why we have no Destiny gear...

2 RespuestasI think the most trustworthy (if you can call it that) rumors are starting to circle around the Cabal empire somewhere outside our solar system. I personally hope it focuses on retaking the rest of earth because we seriously have no business outside of our solar system when we aren't even in control of our own fckng rock.

It turns out that the Vex are actually machines we built in the future to stop ourselves from the Traveler's soon betrayal. Your guardian will be on a recon mission when they begin to notice strange Vex activity. The Vex are going haywire, and a nearly destroyed Minotaur leads you to a beacon you must destroy. The beacons are distress signals put up by the Traveler to the Cabal to come and destroy humanity. You must repair a Vex Hivemind and become on of their gods, enabling you to lead a Vex army against the Cabal Emperor's fleet and the Traveler.

Simple. The Cabal will send their main armada to the Milky Way. They destroy almost everything in their path. Earth is attacked. The first mission is defending the Last City. Fighting through Cabal, taking out their LZs and such. Rasputin and The Traveler create a stalemate at the Asteroid Belt. Maybe use or abuse of Light as a weapon. Dead Orbit creates a new plan; since main armada is at Earth, send fleet around them to attack the Cabal homeworlds while their forces are stretched thin. Main story goes to Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and then explores a new galaxy, with worlds for The Cabal and new races. Taken every now and then. Because why not? Just my two cents!

4 RespuestasThe Cabal are attempting to take over the dreadnaught and we are sent to stop them. The fighting causes the orbit of the dreadnaught to destabilize and starts to burn up as it begins to enter Saturn's atmosphere. We have to fight some boss during all this with some cool mechanics centered around the ship burning up. This opens up Saturn for exploration and further missions. Maybe not the first mission of Destiny 2 but maybe a series of missions leading up to this would be awesome.

1 RespuestaI'd be interested with some more background on the traveler. Like what if the traveler was the bad guy the whole time? Think about it. The traveler showed up claiming to be a savior with armies in its tow and raised an undead army to fight them. You'd think the vex being timeless would know who they would want to make enemies with. They chose the traveler. Maybe they know what the traveler does in the future and didn't like it.

3 RespuestasThe full force of the cabal empire will strike. After having their rears handed too them in a way they have never felt the cabal command is pissed. They will invade earth, the flayers will tie up ras so much that he won't be able to do a thing. The traveler to weak to stop them and we will see the fall of the last tower, we will end up being on the run and be forced underground for a time
