One key per character, per week. After that, rare drop from nightfall, IB, ToO and raid.

Just take the keys out of the damn game and stick to boss drops. This loot system has been a headache forever and a day, now its just completely shot to shît lol.

Something is very weird with the drop of skeleton keys. It seems to be low enough that people can go weeks without getting one, while others get 5 in a day. I personally got 3 in my first session of Heroic strikes. I figured that was the trend we should expect and used them on the new stuff right away, but no. I have maybe gotten 2 keys since. People are reporting playing 20+ strikes without getting a single key. Is the drop rate of keys even connected to the streak? If anything that would be a good way of fixing it.

Don't worry, they'll drop like hot cakes in ToO, that's pretty much the real way to level up in this game.

I have done close to 100 strikes over the last week and I have only got 1 skeleton key. The drop rate is very, very small for this item. The only other skeleton key that I got was the freebie you get from the one quest. That was it I think they need to increase the drop rate by at least 5 to 10% from what it is currently at.

Just another ploy to artificially extend the grind.

Please lower the drop rate. Not everyone should have strike items

The drop rate should be higher. Some people seem to accept the low drop rate of keys just because strike specific drops were rare to begin with. That's not an excuse... It was horrible to begin with and was too much of a grind, and it is actually possibly worse now in a way. If the nightfall came around that was a strike that had loot you wanted, you could likely farm that strike and have a pretty good chance of getting what you were looking for. BUT you still had to fight with getting the crappy rolls on the weapons. Keys are better in the fact that you don't have to continuously try to find one specific strike in the playlists as keys can possibly drop through any strike. The problem here is that you now have to depend on a key to drop, and you have to do it in the playlist, and then you have to stay in the playlist until the strike you want comes up. At this point you STILL have to fight with the crappy rolls even if you manage to get the weapon or whatnot instead of a shitty class item (which should be extra loots only). So should keys drop more often? Yes, just like strike specific loot should have dropped more often to begin with. If they were going to keep the drop rate as small and as rare as before and still include getting screwed over by RNG through class items, the strike specific weapons should all have set specific perks. Either that or they should only be able to have a tiny combination of possible rolls, like 2-3. I've been through undying mind 4 times and used 4 keys and each time I've gotten a titan mark, which is ridiculous since I play a warlock. So that's 4 keys wasted, didn't get the imago loop once, and even if I did it would likely be a crap roll of the weapon. So the keys still don't guarantee you the items you really want and is no better than what we had before. So YES INCREASE THE DROP RATE OF KEYS!!! #rantover

Nah, these are supposed to be special strike drops. Makes sense their drop rates will be kinda low, is just a nice addition that we get these instead so we can choose which strike to try and get the rewards from.

Bungie did say skeleton keys would be extremely rare. Because of the loot in the chests light level go's up to 385. They don't won't players to be Max light in a short time. They want players to play there game and not lose interest.
