It is possible that scientists may have discovered life on Europa, or they could just be excited over water on the moon like on Mars.
Thoughts?

europa is a moon of ice; underneath that ice is an ocean that covers entire moon. normally life on a moon of jupiter is impossible due to jupiter's immense magnetic field (which contains lots of radiation all over the EM spectrum including the radio active variety) water however is the best insulator against most of the harmful variety of that radiation per weight; ice even better, so yea there seriously could be tons of life on europa due to geothermal energy on the bottom of that moon's ocean which covers the entire moon. also jupiter's immense gravitational field; further causes more geothermal activity on many of it's moons (the planet squishes and pulls on the entire moons themselves)

5 RespuestasInteresting. I wish efficient space travel was a thing, like something in Star Wars. But no...
);
I just wish they'd had the foresight and means to entirely sterilize the spacecrafts before launch. Unless the scientific community decides to cut some corners, it'll be a while before we can actually screen for life.

2 RespuestasFor anyone who won't read, or won't understand, "large amounts of activity" means movement on the surface, suggesting a source of water beneath it.

2 RespuestasRead about this. First thought was that it was just the typical NASA and media type sensationalistic phrasing designed to grab our attention - like there's aliens on Europa or something. That isn't to say there isn't life on Europa, though. I mean heck, where there's water, there could definitely be life. After all, we see life thriving here on Earth even in some of the most extreme and inhospitable environments imaginable: pools of acid, volcanos, etc. Still always fascinated by nerdy news and the thought of discovering alien life. Fun stuff.

Amazing, there's aliens somewhere sentient or not. It'll be great if we didn't even need to leave the solar system to find them
