It's not at all. I don't even bother collecting ghosts. Just thought it hilarious that Bungie basically undid the purpose of its own challenge.

The challenge was to do all the challenges in year 2. Nowhere did they say that you MUST do these challenges on their time table.

They did no such thing. Having all three challenges active will only get you three calcified fragments. You still need 47 more, and that's just for one of eight tasks to complete. They aren't unlocking all three tier 3 bosses from Court of Oryx or making the sword quest or Mountaintop any easier. I really think the reason they did it has nothing to do with Moments. There are 17 potential drops if you finish a hard raid with moldering shards. I think they did it to get 333-334 guardians a chance to get to 335. Stop trying to find the negative in everything.

Tier 3 Court of Oryx bosses are actually on rotation. But yes, you are correct, there are 44 more fragments that you just have to do the work to get. They simply took out the wait time for the challenge and Court fragments.
