I came in from a ton of time playing Morrowind and Oblivion. As an Elder Scrolls title, Skyrim was incredibly disappointing. It was missing a lot of the depth and dumbed down for the casual audience. If it had been like its predecessors, Skyrim probably wouldn't have sold as well as it did because it would have been appealing to its core audience.
