Ps4 pro hate
Just a curious question. Why does everyone hate it so much? I've seen a bunch of hate for it but no explanation as to why. The only thing i've seen people hate it for is not having a blue ray player which realy isn't that important considering all the games are downloaded anyways.
Edit1: still don't see a valid problem with them releasing the ps4 pro. If you want it get it, if you don't then whatever. It's completely choice people
Edit 2: hmm starting to trend a bit. Loving the feedback on this and if any of the replies sound like im defending ps4 pro im not. Im just trying to get some facts straight.
Final edit: i've come to the conclusion that people just realy like to hate on this for no reason. It's not realy a cash grab/scam considering it's going for the same price as a regular ps4 AND they are nocking down the price of the regular ps4. It isn't going to affect gameplay any. Sony isn't realy doing anything "bad" with the ps4 pro. And again no im not defending sony, im just stating facts.

10 RespuestasBecause a console to me is a good all-round living room device, to pay for the latest would mean it can play all the latest games (not expecting PC quality, just aslong as i can play them) play all the latest movies (something the Xbox Slim can do but PS4 Pro can't) and have a plethora of couch co-op games, music/media storage, apps, internet, social blablabla (all the stuff a normal PS4 has) SO what's the PS4 Pro for? I have a 4k TV and it's certainly not for me. All it can do is play normal PS4 slightly better!? AND THAT'S IT!?!? Ontop of that it's $650 AUD!? If i gave a crap about my games looking top quality id be on PC. Can i play all the latest games on a normal Xbox/PS, yes i can, so what's the point? Is the Pro a good all round console upgrade? No it's not. The people it's targeted at (people with 4kTVs) might want a 4k player orelse, from a console perspective, it's no better than a normal PS4 and the Xbox One Slim actualy does a BETTER job of being an "all round console". Arguements like "oh but you can stream 4k" are -blam!-ing stupid, a smart TV can do that anyway, any tech-savy person would kno disc>streaming, and any Sony fanboy probably IS a fanboy because they know Sony USUALY deliver the absolute BEST in home entertainment, here they havn't so its a big F-U to their fans.

6 RespuestasQuestion for anyone who is tech savy: With the pro specs, will the PS4 pro have a hard time running games on 4k? By that I mean will it overheat quickly, crash/freeze etc. I have no intention on buying it though, to me it feels like the 4k market is not quite "mature" enough yet and needs a couple more years before it becomes the norm.

6 RespuestasMost games aren't natively 4K. The disc drive isn't Blu Ray, which is a big deal because that means that the Xbox one s is still the cheapest 4K Blu ray player.

Because the PS5 is only 2-3 years away. Same goes for whatever the next Xbox will be (Xbox 2, 720 or 9,001) we all know that ms can't count. So I wouldn't recommend buying any of the upgrades because you can do all the same things on the standard console with next gen being a couple of years away.

11 Respuestas1: Only the GPU and Storage has been changed. 2: You'd need a 4K TV to see any noticeably change in graphics. 3: The MP games wont run any better than they do on PS4. 4: It can't run games at native 4K. So you're spending £500+ on a 4K tv, £350 for the PS4 Pro, and you're only getting a small amount of graphical power.. It's a waste of money. I'll stick with my PS4 and Xbox One then get the Scorpio next year.

3 RespuestasI just don't understand what exactly they were thinking. It just seems like an unneeded console. Obviously if you don't want it you don't have to buy it, but why waste the time and resources on a console that just does 4k? Because that's literally all it does, and then if it's just for 4k why isn't there a 4k Blu-ray player? It's not at all a death sentence not to have one, but why not? I'm more upset about the fact that it seems Sony let their success with the ps4 go to their heads and now they're just kinda throwing shit out there. That confrence was utterly horrible, let's talk about 4k for 45 minutes. That whole confrence could have been a press release. And alot of the hate is coming from the fact that MS slapped them in the face with a 4k capable One S for cheaper. Or if you pay the $400 you get a 2TB HDD. Sony just got out maneuvered and they look bad, so the ps4 pro looks bad. Probably wouldn't be as much hate out there if MS hadn't dropped the One S and announced Scorpio.

I think want people wanted was either an Xbox One S (a small upgrade for the same price) or a Scorpio (a big upgrade for a much higher price). They didn't want the middle ground that the PS4 pro sits in. And while your totally right saying "if you don't want it then don't buy it", it's still frustrating for someone invested in the Sony ecosystem when they release a product that doesn't appeal to them. Also, as a side note, missing some of the features of a cheaper system doesn't help. Even if most people won't use the feature right away, it's still nice to have.

That...and you have a lot of people commenting on this who really don't have a clue what they're talking about...and their expectations were way out of line with Reality. Had to try to grit my teeth to hold back the anger listening to a (IIRC) Gamespot video on YT where 4 people who clearly had no idea what they were talking about, were debating about whether the PS4 Pro "reveal" "lived up to the hype." 1. There was no hype. Sony did everything they could to keep the thing a secret. 2. The machine is not intended to be a new generation of machine. It is simply a performance upgrade. 3. Any comparisons to the XB One S, are woefully misguided. The XB One S just (finally) gives MS of machine that is as a capable as the CURRENT PS4. 4. All it takes is one trip to Best Buy to figure out why Sony didn't waste money putting a UHD drive in the PS4 Pro: Best Buy can hardly GIVE video discs away these days, never mind actually sell them. The future for all forms of home entertainment is digital delivery. Sony made the right call in leaving it out. Whereas good luck finding a decent movie to watch on UHD disc. You'll need it. Bottomline, is that we live in an environment now where its seen as "cool" and "credible" to be negative and cynical....while being positive gets you accused of being a "sellout" or "unknowledgeable". Which is a crock of shit, really.

2 RespuestasI feel like the whole half step console thing is weird. Rumors are leaked that a more powerful PS4 was being developed. Better tech but not totally necessary. Then Microsoft announced they were not going to release a mid-release console type update. Sony looked pretty cool. Something new, more powerful then goes quiet. Microsoft meanwhile did a 180 with Scorpio and on top of that also announced a meaningful Xbox One S model. All of a sudden, something really promising, (PlayStation Pro) seems like an under powered afterthought. Now people are pissed.
