Hello everyone! Now I know that majority of the people in the Destiny community are shotgunners, so please can everyone try to keep an open mind. I have no ill will against anyone in the destiny community (except for Murdaro). So, the snipers in the middle high impact family have been recently nerfed. The damage on the middle high impact snipers have been significantly reduced to the point where they can't snipe overshield supers. Now I have an issue with this because critical damage should have never been touched in the first place, but body shot damage needed a reduction to 120 damage. Critical damage is supposed to be rewarding as it takes skill to land the shot, but now it is much harder to take out roaming supers with great agility and movement speed (bladedancer. stormcaller. hammer of sol). Because of this nerf we are also seeing more shotgunners and most of the time only shotgunners in both public and private matches (private as in sweats). We need more variety in a game like destiny, and if anyone is worried about primaries not being used as often, then I also propose we have bungie buff primary weapons (not all because some are ridiculously good). If you think I just hardscope in the back of the map then add me so I can show you I do agro sniping. I also shotgun from time to time and I believe I am not biased in this request because of that reason. If anyone has any complaints about my request then please msg why you think so and so is biased or a bad statement. Thank you.

I completely agree with you dude if they wanted to nerf the damage on the 31 impact snipers it shouldv'e been the bodyshot damage, but even that could've been left alone. This nerf is just gonna make more people use shottys or more people hardscope and camp. Not to mention how snipers are probably dead in competitive play because they can't shut down roaming supers anymore, and the flinch factor is to high. We'll just have to see if Bungie understands what hey did.

1 RespuestaThere are other ways to kill people in their supers
-
6 RespuestasPeople wanted supers to feel super. They got what they wanted.
-
1 RespuestaBump. I'd also like to point out the indirect effect it has on supers' effectiveness. The prominent roaming supers (stormtrance and HoS) have been nerfed in the past due to their global effectiveness. Then they go and nerf one of the best ways to counter roaming supers. What the -blam!-.

Personally I think at snipers are so bad now, that it is more vialbe to run at someone with a shotgun. That means that last word now becomes more used to counter that. And if you have a last word chances are you don't want a shotgun too. But shotguns are the only good thing.

7 RespuestasEditado por bobswerski: 9/12/2016 2:21:51 PMHonestly, I don't think it's a good mechanic to be able to relatively easily OHK someone out of their super. That's really the bottom line here. It's not the easiest thing ever to do, but it's a super, ffs. They should be difficult to counter 1v1 with anything besides another super.

I really don't remember getting killed by Sniper while in Super. It's a rare occurence, so the nerf was kind of badly explained. They should have just told the truth, and said Snipers of Osiris was over guys.

4 RespuestasI think matches are to long. I am bored outta my mind when I PVP

7 RespuestasInstead of nerfing snipers they should of have just buffed shotguns and primaries since they have already been nerfed. No Bungie a 1% buff is not a buff.

2 Respuestas
Now I know that majority of the people in the Destiny community are shotgunners
Lol I agree the damage nerf was unecessary, but i love the flinch mechanic. It was too easy to sit back and snipe in this game. Shotgunning has been a high risk, high reward strategy since TTK, but sniping has been Low Risk, High reward in the same time period. Now it makes it a bit riskier to sit back and snipe all match. As for this statement,
We need more variety in a game like destiny,
I think a large part of that would come from better map rotation. Each playlist should hav maps that play to each playstyle. Yes, CQC maps like Anomaly should play in the rotations more frequently than they do currently. It should be a nice rotation of small, medium, and large size maps. I feel like y1 was like this, and you saw for the most part a good bit more variety between games. People would actually change their loadout from map to map to adapt to the maps strengths. Now most maps in the rotations cater to snipe, scout, and pulse rifle play, and it creates a boring crucible if you ask me.

5 Respuestaslmao you sound like mtash on his youtube vid when he was complaining about sniper not killing supers, but did you know you can use a black spindle or efrideet spear type snipers to kill supers because they are max impact? Rise of iron is coming out soon and im pretty sure there are new max impact snipers coming out just like E spear. Next time research & adapt before posting like this.

1 RespuestaYou can still snipe supers if they aren't running max armor.
-
22 RespuestasAs a fusion rifle user, no fusion rifle, regardless of your opponents armor, can kill a mobile super in one hit, even if you hit all your coils. Landing 7 coils from a hitchhiker on a mobile super is no easy task, regardless, the result is you have to hit a melee afterwards. Mid-high impacts snipers did everything, and they did it well. Although I didn't think it was necessary, Bungie does not want one class of weapon to be the jack of all trades. Mid-Impact snipers did prior to this patch.

Editado por Dampfanator: 9/12/2016 11:05:06 PMIt was needed as the shots from these middle tier snipers are easy as all get out to get. If you want to snipe and take out supers use our little aim assist friend the Black Spindle
-
Love this update, most people agree it was needed. Supers are supposed to be super, not prone to aim assisted target acquisition crazy sniping, which was ridiculous.
-
1 RespuestaI can maybe be agree with u in the part of :"critical rewards" however the flinch was really needed its time to leave the camping and learn how to play without shot down a super with 1 single special bullet. I am fine with this nerf maybe will be less campers, hardscopiner fags, less snipers more rushing and quick matches.
-
Define the archetype. From what I see. The highest impact snipers can still kill a roaming super.
-
Care to elaborate on the one story about the person you name who you do feel ill will towards? Less importantly, my opinion on the matter at hand, I largely agree with you but with exceptions. 1kys archetype should headshot kill only the roaming supers - so blade/gg/nighstalker-with-quiver/hammers/palpatine. (Should also kill revived players). The non-roaming supers should take more than a headshot crit if the shot lands after super is activated. This 2nd shot requirement determined by armour level build type/armour perk stats. I don't snipe. I tried and it's not for me.
-
While I main a sniper I don't think the PvP side is bad most times you will be able to kill a super except in really competitive lobbies, however this change has made a noticeable change to snipers in PvE witch I think Bungie should address
-
9 RespuestasIf you have an over shield they why should you get kill with one shot. I could see critical damage with a primary finish. It's a shield after all. I don't care for quick scoping either as it's super unrealistic imp.

10 RespuestasEditado por ShadeStep: 9/12/2016 3:25:29 PMThe problem was how and when people would use there supers, not the sniper. It takes a lot of skill to head shot a super, period point blank. If someone does that they are skilled or lucky either way it should be rewarding. If you use your super in an open lane with multiple sight lines to you, you deserve to be punished. I personally prefer shotgun it comes naturally, but on some occasions it's just not as reliable as a rifle. But I have grinded for years to get good special weapons and now I can't one shot a noob that self revives in front of me, come on. I've always adapted to these ,"balances." This I find a little ridiculous though. Just learn how to beat your opponents, don't complain to bungie. That's how we've all found ourselves using slingshots now. So come on people, man up and adapt. That's how you get better learn from your losses don't complain to bungie, because they listen far too often.
-
I agree Bungie messed up again
-
The only thing need to be done about snipers was bugging primaries with more flinch. But bungie for some reason prefers nerf or nothing.
-
4 RespuestasYou do know sniper players got shotguns nerfed last year. It was going to happen. People can't expect to something nerfed because they CHOOSE not to use it. What goes around comes around. So it's either buff both snipers and shotguns back to year one are just keep getting both nerfed.
