So what about those who never intended to use the Artifact? We're now punished because instead of rethinking, or reworking the artifact, they decide to nerf an ability that's been a staple for Titans since launch? Was this a last minute, knee-jerk nerf? Because it sure seems like it. 99% of people used Shoulder Charge for mobility. That's basically been killed now. I know you guys make mistakes with the patch notes all the time (you really need to triple check everything before releasing them. It's becoming an issue now), but you'd think that a nerf to an ability that's been there since day 1 would be priority number 1. Now, I don't wanna go all conspiracy theory, but it's hard not to when you present stuff in this manner. Was this sprintlock artifact introduced as an excuse to rework Striker Titans because of all the recent outrage? It sure seems like it. This nerf definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.

Changed a day one ability? Kind of sucks, let me give you a trip mine oh wait:P we got shafted too
-
It's all a pile of BS what Bunghole feed us. Almost year 3 and they still can't figure out how to improve their own game...unreal.
-
Personally, I agree with striker. Shoulder charge is not as over powered as the community says it is. I can't count how many time I have tried to shoulder charge someone and they just blast me with a shotgun in the middle of the animation. Not to mention the tracking has the potential to be unreliable at times. But this is just from my personal experience.
-
1 second increase to do it? Sounds like a buff to me.
-
"Staple" that's exactly why it should have been nerfed. Any ability that exceeds all other options is not okay, either buff other abilitys are reduce the effectiveness of the most used. Common sense.
-
Shoulder charge was and still is OP. Chill, you'll survive.
-
Editado por ...: 9/11/2016 7:08:47 PMI've still yet to see a valid argument for Shoulder Charge being OP. Almost every case of outcry has been from clueless people caught out of position, or not knowing how to counter it. Can't wait for the day Warlock Melee range gets hit. I'll be there saying "chill, you'll survive." We'll see how well that goes.
-
why you worried about the warlock melee? After all you can counter the warlock melee so easily. Use a primary shotgun fusion be aware of your radar shoulder charge him So many counters to this high risk/high reward melee
-
Yeah u can use the same ways to counter shoulder charge so then why is everyone crying out for it being op just because some people do not have skill or are not aware of their surroundings that doesn't mean that one particular ability is OP
-
Because the warlock melees aren't 1HKO's.
-
People who hate sc should take this advice. You straight up just listed out how to counter sc. Why didn't any of you hunters and warlocks think of that? You probably did but it would just be easier for you to get us nerfed instead so you don't have to try as much.

I have a titan. I am quite aware of the realities of the titan. Same as I have a warlock, and a hunter. I don't have a main character either. I like to use all of them. Fact is Bungie constantly changes the weapons in the game, and they change the classes. While it is simple to place the blame on a nerf on another class, it's also quite ridiculous to do so. Fact is, it's a cycle. Just like last cycle saw the hunter get it's abilities nerfed, the warlock the time before got changes. Be happy that the titan was not changed near as dramatically. However the writing on the wall was there, and it was obvious the shoulder charge was going to get hit. Hell all the posts claiming that the shoulder charge was balanced and should not be changed was for the very reason they knew it was next. Guess what class is next? My bet is the warlock. Though I guess you will be one of those guys claiming a victory after they get nerfed. Maybe you won't be, but that's what this community seems to love to do. Claim a class as your's, and then act like we are all at war with each other.
-
Editado por Owl: 9/12/2016 9:45:46 AMIt is not that some one claims a class they are just comfortable with using one character as u we all know each class is different than the other in terms of abilities, movements and as in armor as Titans usually have the most armor, hunters are the most agile and warlocks have a better recovery rate so everyone chooses one of these characters and then master it so it is pretty unfair that because of some players that are unable to handle themselves in PvP and get killed often by minor things should a classes ability be nerfed as I am also using a Titan as a base character as I find it easier to use rather than the other complex characters and I have been using Sc from day one so it seems pretty unfair that it gets nerf because of some people who are not willing to use any skill or not even trying to counter Sc and same goes for warlock melee

I understand where your coming from. Though you have to keep in mind that it's not easy being unbiased when something you like using gets nerfed. Nothing wrong with that. That's not saying that shoulder charge was hugely OP. I thought it could use a tone down when I heard about that artifact. Sounded like it would make shoulder charging out of control. That being said, Bungie has nerfed several things in the game that I have never heard anyone complain about, nor could imagine was overused in anyway. Latest example being the throwing knife of the hunter. I think it really comes down to is, what are we using, and what are we not using. Nerf the first, buff the second. Bungie wants us to change the way we play. I don't particularly like this philosophy, I would much rather them buff, or change up stuff not being used to give us the ability, and incentive to play differently without taking away the way we are playing now.

I never saw a nerf so drastic as it was to Sunbreakers. That was my favorite subclass ever (I mainly play pve btw). After nerf, I barely touch it. Tried it out after the last "buff" in pve ... it's still meh. I now use Striker most of the time, and no, I don't like using sc, I prefer having max armor (sc can't 1hk me), but used for fun a few times and that's far from op. Ok, 2 or 3 guys managed to get REALLY good at it; so what? Every IB I played I managed to counter , or, avoid it most of the time. It's not that hard. And, I play with the 3 classes, but I like Titans best, it appeals more to my style. It doesn't mean I dislike the others or think they should get nerfed. It's dumb when people favour their own "main" (actually, I think it's their "only") class as if the three were at war.
-
Ya, the sunbreaker was hit real hard. I know it needed toned down a bit. When you heard those hammers go off, you just had to run. I can remember doing trials with 3 sunbreakers. Match was about even till we got our supers. They had no chance. Won 3 straight matches. So I wasn't shocked when it got nerfed, but it shouldn't have got hit near as hard it was. It's ok now I guess. Just have to be careful to aim the hammer throw. Though I tend to use it less than the striker. I am more of a PVE player as well.
-
Yeah, I use it for bounties now mostly. Sometimes, just to change a little, I equip it, but still use Defender a lot more than Sunbreaker. It was a great crowd control sub, I never used cauterize, I went with the Sunspot and overshield and extra super-time, it was a beast to clean up mobs. Now, it's easy to die even with an overshield and it lasts a lot less. But the original idea, damn, it was perfect for the Titans. I'm not a huge fan of pvp (well, not Destiny's at least, I prefer Quake 3 / Unreal Tournament style), so played just a few rounds as the "OP" Sunbreaker. Indeed, it was funny seeing everyone running for their lives when the hammers of hell clanged. Now they just point and laugh, while someone picks a rock from the floor and throw towards the Titan, killing him.
Ok, it's not THAT bad, but it sure feels like it if you played with the original setup.
-
I use all three as well almost equally. But I prefer the titan. Obviously my post wasn't specifically for you but all the hunters and warlocks who cried nerf. But yeah it was the titans turn this time. I also agree that warlocks will get hit next. I don't complain asking for nerfs because I play all three and know what to use and what not to use against certain classes or subclasses. A lot of people's problems are that they only play one character.
-
XDDDDDD exactly the same goes to sc....
-
Lol bump. A shotgun can deal with a shoulder charge. A warlock melee like thunderstrike outranges my conspiracy theory d. Work that one out.
-
But it doesn't kill you in 1 shot though right? It's a melee that has longer range. Waaaaahhhhh I have to wait 1 more second to get my insta-kill.
-
I've been regularly killed by one hit melees, and don't forget you can also get your health back on warlock melee without a kill too depending on build. I don't really care about the 1s increase and the shoulder charge doesn't always one hit kill.
-
SC doesn't one hit kill only if you're running max armor on a warlock and have the exotic Ram helmet equipped. I personally don't want to HAVE to use this build just to barely survive a 1HKO move. I also can counter it with a shotgun, but again why should I HAVE to run something specific just to counter an easily spammable ability. There are plenty of time I'd kill the titan and the aim assist would going his dead body at me causing a trade. That is frustrating. At least now titans have to try to earn it.
-
I don't disagree with the nerf such as 180 tracking, An extra 1 second just to get sc isn't a hardship. I just remember shoulder charging warlocks alot , they have a little health left and melee me to get the overshield and at best we trade. Just trying to balance out the argument. What you say is true to certain extent as well. I've been killed by a dead titan with a sc too so work that one out! Actually have the vid somewhere were my friend caught it. Problem is crucible is so inconsistent and it becomes frustrating.

You can only get 1HKO'd by a warlock melee if it's a sunsinger in radiance. It's a super though so it should be able to do this. No other warlock melee can kill you in 1 hit..a sunsinger with Viking Funeral possibly could pre patch if you were a hunter running the lowest possible armor build. Otherwise nope. Also to note that Voidwalkers melee ability has the shortest range of all warlock melees..nowhere near what stormcallers have...the health regeneration takes time similar to red death, so if you get into a melee battle with a titan you will still lose.
