Bungie's technique to rig Crucible

Ever wonder why you can dominate one game and then be dead last the next? Ever wonder why games can go lopsided both ways? Well, it's not coincidence. I've been checking the stats and data behind both of these of these circumstances. I analyzed games where we win or lose by a huge margin... as well as games where I'm personally the best or the worst. It turns out these occurrences only happen when 4 out of the top 5 K/D players are on one team. This is almost always the case. Bungie can easily create wins and losses by doing this. It's plain as day. It's manipulation at your expense. Yes, there are exceptions to this, but almost every game I checked had these comparisons. You can thank Bungie for that.

  • I kind of agree with you. So much of these things we all see on here. What is worse than that is even if this is all just poor quality spinmetal hat theory. Bungie through their manipulation of matchmaking has if nothing else made these things the perception of those playing the game. How is that good for the game?

  • Or are they applying "damage referee" against certain people that reduces accuracy, resulting in missed shots, and a higher TTK? Either damage ref is broken, or they're doing it on purpose, as a handicapp. Some games, all my well aimed shots register, others, half my shots miss doubling TTK. Sure it could be lag, but I'm seeing this in games with a good lobby connection.

    • Why,why, why in the world would they spend money to set that up ? Why do you think they care about your crucible stats? I'm sure they don't want 97 percent of their players getting slaughtered, but that's what weapon balancing is for...this isn't call of duty

    • What's fvk1ng crazy is that normally I'm at the top of my teams leader board, 90% of the time top 3. Well lately I've been doing terrible, I used to play all day and stay in positive k/d. Now it's a coin toss 50/50 positive/negative kd. This has been going on for two weeks now, BUT! Somehow my overall crucible kd has risen... I don't understand. I'm scoring way less, and have 50% more negative kd's than I did half a month ago. So how is my kd rising?

    • Yup everytime I play and I see someone I recognize (good pvp player) I can guarantee that they are on the opposing team. I have played clash games where I singe handedly make half our score (5k) and we still end up losing. This game sucks as solo, that is why it is nice to have friends to play crucible with. I can carry most times in 3s but in 6s it gets really hard but still possible usually have to average 40 kills in a game to have a chance to win many games in a row with randoms.

      • Yeah, and I think they do more than just that. I think they may also have the spawn system rigged as a backup in case rigging the teams wasn't effective enough. For example, let's say that the game forms team A against team B, and B has a group of 5 players partied up together. The algorithm that attempts to force all players to have a 50/50 win/loss ratio hopes that team B will win because they have 5 members communicating and coordinating. However, if team B falls behind, then the spawn system will pick members of team A to spawn away from their own team and instead spawn near several members of team B, ensuring that they will die and team A will get more points. This process is repeated until team B is back in the lead. Now, I don't have data to back this up, this is all just my own speculation. But I have to say, when it comes to spawning in the middle of a bunch of enemies, or a bunch or enemies spawning around me at once, or just getting outright spawn-killed, BS like this happens to me much more often in Destiny than any other FPS I play.

      • The thing that bothers me the most is when your team is way ahead and all of a sudden in less than one minute the other team is right behind or ahead! This seems to happen a lot in the IB I have noticed. I do remember reading somewhere that Bungie does things to balance matches in progress. I have no evidence of this but it seems to happen a lot.

        • There's absolutely NO way people can go 4.0 kd in this shit. This game is rigged beyond comparison. You completely annhialated one game? Let's nerf your shotgun range, handcannon accuracy, and put you against a fireteam the next 5 matches. Oh, and let's make it so only 50% of your melees don't register. Sounds fair? I'm watching these streamers and there's no way theae people are CONSTANTLY being matched against brain deads. Or maybe they aren't brain dead, and they just so happen to have been winning too much so they have their shit nerfed.

          • So, if ppl notice, we get extra points towards the team score for certain actions, headshots, assists, super kills etc. I've noticed, on heavy round, if I have a machine gun, every kill gets a headshot bonus, and I've deliberately shot at legs and toes just to try this out. So think this way, it's actually possible for a team to get close to 600 points for one kill if everyone team shoots, and the killer gets a headshot.
#Mathematicsmatters
• Yesterday had 4 games on Titan, fair games but all losses. Followed this with a stellar game for me, 15kill, 11 assist, most captures, best around etc. Then an awful game, in 3 mins I got 1 capture, 1 assist, 6 deaths. No sign of a 50:50 w/l. If the 50:50 Bungie target is real, I'm owed a lot of wins. Bit it does often feel as there are games that are impossible to win.

                • I thought I was crazy, I'm so inconsistent in crucible. I had created a secondary account with a less feminine GT in January (if you don't know why welcome to the Internet, someone will be along shortly to insult you), and logically had a much better k/d than on this original profile, but crap gear as I haven't done any end game at all. I maim on that profile. What's more, even though my connection is green at times I'll feel like I'm just not getting hit when I should be, or taking the damage I should in an encounter (with no perceivable lag). I encouraged my bf to start up a secondary account and try it out and he felt the same way. Another guardian suggested that the mm is also considering # of matches and tilting the game toward the side with fewer so that new players will stay. I'm guessing that new players coming into a pvp situation where people have been practicing for 2 years would be daunting, and winning more often and feeling like you are tougher than you are might convince those of lower skill like myself to stick with the game during pve content droughts. It bothers me greatly that an entire game could be decided by it, but I'm becoming more convinced as time goes on that # of matches on an account is part of the mm and w/l balance coding. Pay attention to the low light players dominating your matches (especially if it feels weird) if you have the time, have a peek into their history and see if they don't have very few matches and a higher than normal win rate. It started to get exponentially harder after about 100 matches, and my k/d and win rate took a nosedive after that. *shrug*

                    • Bungie already stated that they want players to average around a 1KD and an average W/L. I can't remember where but I know it was in a weekly update or something. I also experience this though, it's infuriating that I can do so well one game and get paired with terrible teammates the next game as a reward.

                      • What a brilliant deduction: If one team has 4 out of the top 5 players on it they win by a big margin. Really, how long dusky take you to work that one out? It doesn't mean that there is any manipulation in the selection of team though. It does suggest that there is no attempt to balance teams (I never thought there was personally). Once all the players for the match are together, I think they are allocated randomly to teams and I haven't seen any evidence that suggests otherwise. If 2 or more of the good players are in a single fireteam, then it would definitely give them a major advantage and they are likely to win most matches unless they were randomly given all the "no thumbs" as team mates In strict sbmm (narrow tiers for player selection so all players in a match are fairly evenly matched), random team allocation would lead to about 50% wins for all players, which is what Bungie said they are trying to achieve Unfortunately, the tiers for player selection have been widened in an attempt to reduce lag and matchmaking times and sometimes players from tiers above / below are also thrown in if there aren't enough players to fill the teams. This screws up the entire system as you now have larger than intended ranges of skills in matches and random team allocation will sometimes lead to very one-sided matches (especially where there is a fireteam of good players)

I also think the connection makes a difference. Some matches I can't seem to get a hit on anyone and others I do really well. I think the connection quality among the group of players makes a difference. Even if your connection is good you might be in a match where the connections between each of you are not. I just have a feeling this is why sometimes my ROF on guns seems better than other matches (I mean sometimes enemy guns seem to always beat mine - reverse at other times) - connection quality. Theory.

                          • Here is the best proof of it happening. Go in with 1 other player. Mercy rule the other team, with a 9kd 18-2 Game says it will seperate those teams Searches and gives us 4 of the potatoes we just played on our team versus a team of 6 with all good kds I go posititive and we get mercy It seperates those teams again.. Then it repeats the cycle with different group of players. I will get 50% of my games if i go in by myself versus the same players, and on average my teammates have .5 kds while the other team is above 1.
