Hi, this is a request on behalf of the average player. A lot of issues are addressed that come from great players, the streamers etc. There is a gap in matchmaking for trials of osiris, a loophole that could be addressed before rise of iron (time permitted). A lot of the time a player will be faced with someone who has been flawless 100+ times, and often in the starting matches. In many instances these players suicide their Elo rating to get a quick flawless victory. This issue has been reported to me by many. Ofcourse we all still try, occasionally get better, but I don't know anyone that doesn't seek a 'carry'. Infact some users charge for a guaranteed carry.
To rectify this and to even out gameplay I would propose that before Elo, players are matchmade by how many times they have been flawless. This should be a permanent stat.
Case 1: no team member has accomplished flawless. They are faced against others with 0 flawless stat and the Elo comes into play as the win progression takes place.
Case 2: Party has been flawless an average of 25 times. party will be placed in groups of players that have achieved flawless 20-30 times before matchmade on Elo win progression.
Case 3: Players have 2 members that have been 50 times and one that has been once. Players will be matchmade against group 20-30 as a lowered average.
Result.
Amazing players will still have to 'sweat' at the end of their wins to get to lighthouse and will no longer harass lower end players.
Lower end players will not be faced with higher end players, and will face others of their level for a sweaty bout.
Carrying will not allow professional trials teams to face up against low end players. Instead they will be lowered in bracket by how many average flawless stat they have.
Everyone gets the same level of challenge.

1 RespuestaBungie doesn't use elo. It's a third party metric

3 RespuestasThen you get no rewards for going to the lighthouse. If your gonna have an easy route then you should get some sort of degrading emblem.
-
2 RespuestasTo anyone that will look at my profile and use my stats as a "counterargument", comment something along the line of "Git Gud," "Salt...", Some form of insult, or any typically toxic response then don't read this. It not only makes you look (more of) a donkeys' behind, and also confirms what i am saying below as true, but it just wastes time as that brings nothing to the table. Open criticism on intellectual level is welcomed, anything else will just be ignored. I don't play trials anymore, pointlessly getting steamrolled by a toxic community isn't my idea of fun. Also the friend that got me into destiny is currently at AIT so that also put a hamper on my willingness to try for 9-0. Wasn't too bad, think I was like silver ELO with a decent kd , and never went to lighthouse. I think the best we got was like 6-0 or 7-0, but then you start getting paired against people with red bars, or someone would have some sort of problem, or the we would quickly be completely 5-0ed by teams (who we fought previously on other cards) for the 3rd time. Even though I no longer play trials I would like to see some sort of change to trials. Suppose to get tougher along the way, I understand and welcome that, and I know that sometimes you just run into the better team that match. Again welcomed. Well fought out battles that had both sides giving it their all to claim that yellow circle for the match, the whole idea and spirit behind the original trials. But now it's just toxicity upon toxicity upon toxicity, not good at all. The current community in trials is way to toxic, for the most part, they never stop to actually put aside their feelings and actually consider other people. It's always "Oh your KD/Oh your ELO/ Oh your profile says "your shit' and so your opinion doesn't matter" "Git Gud Scrub " or some variant of insult and comment about salt it's self. You can go to any post about Trials and you can see for yourself, it's really bad, a lot of hostility. They provide no intellectual argument, result to closing people off just due to them "being a casual" or "not having good ELO/KD," and overall just wish to stay stagnant in their pile of toxic soup. I've actually been able to have a few conversations with these people from time to time, after getting past the whole "Git Gud you salty Scrub" and the main thing I hear for them is that It wasn't easy for them, or like this said idea, for them so it shouldn't be like it for others. Correct me if I'm wrong, but games are suppose to evolve over time to become better and better versions of themselves. Stagnation in anything is not a good thing, unless you absolutely perfected the thing but that's impossible as every system has some sort of flaw and room for improvement. I can go to any other game I have that has a PvP aspect, or is focused on PvP, and they have much better systems for PvP for competitive and grow constantly. Smite, LoL, Battleborn, Overwatch, Old games like w101, CoR, Aion, etc... Each of these games tried to improve their PvP alongside having, at least, an equally bad system or better system. Take Overwatch and look how much better their competitive PvP experience is in comparison to Trials, I know each is completely different but just do it, it hasn't even been out for half of destiny's lifespan and it's already substantially better. And it's still making improvements. No one can improve and no one can get better if people who get 50 cards done before breakfast fight someone who hasn't even been to the lighthouse once. Yes it should be a challenge for everyone, but the thing with challenges is that challenges are challenging...yet winnable. Dunking on team's 5-0 left and right isn't a challenge for the 5 side and the 0 side has 0% chance of getting better or learning. Something needs to change so both low end players and high end players can both go to the lighthouse while having challenging fights that are actually winnable. I'm not sure what, but something needs to happen.

2 Respuestasmy solution was i just quit trials. lol. i was never going flawless and grew tired of spending two hours to get boots in a package.
-
1 RespuestaTbh, I like playing against players who are better than me in trials, I enjoy the challenge. Last week I won 5-4 against Gernader Jake in trials, and it was a very fun match. He hit a triple kill on us though ;-;

2 RespuestasGood luck the only people who will reply to this are the elitist flawless junkies giveing you shit because they have nothing eles to do.

3 RespuestasEveryone who is eliminated from TOO should get the following three things: 1. Some salt added to your inventory that you can rub into your wounds. 2. Once the salt is rubbed in, you get a "Salty Dog" emblem showing a dog marking his territory on the side of the Lighthouse. 3. A free trip to the mysterious Outhouse. When you go into the Outhouse, you see only a toilet that faces the outer wall of the Lighthouse. If you sit on the toilet, a small window appears that lets you see into the Lighthouse as the winners open the chest that you will never get. A few moments later, Shaxx says "Oh my! Is that the smell of defeat?"

1 RespuestaI've also run into those using lag switches trying to run flawless and cheating

9 RespuestasTo all you complaining about ToO: I have never been to the lighthouse. Not good enough. So i do not deserve it. You wanna go to the lighthouse? Practice and get better. Would you go to the olympics and run 42 km for Gold? No, and you would not complain. You perhaps would run a 5 Mile Race in your hometown. And you would not complain not to be able to stand where the top athlets are standing and you would not complain that they get a medal. Even if you paid for Gym membership. To those who do not understand what I am saying: Do not complain about not going to the lighthouse (olympics). Get better. Use Alternative game modes (Home Town Race). Do not complain about Gear (medals). Wanna See the lighthouse? Youtube. Sorry for my rude words, but to me it seems people want to get things the easy way. This is unfair to those that are that good and go to the lighthouse. Stop complaining about carries. Would you like to Face 3 top players instead of One who is carrying 2 people who are not that good? No, cos you would have less Chance to Win. If you so or so have no Chance, you are just not good enough. Cu in the crucible...

12 RespuestasYou do realise that the fawless charge people will just set up new accounts so they can have a easy time of it should be done if they gone fawless once per weekend they get put into the elite stage.
-
Or they could just use, idk, 2 tiers or SBMM. Everything else on the game has some sort of tiered difficulty, including the Raid, which endgame. Why can't trials have different rewards for different tiers, and still have the lighthouse for those rewards?
the reason? PvP Ego
Top Tier rewards could offer top gear such as T12 armor, ammo perks such as generic extra ammo (instead of specialized like "sniper rifle ammo"). Second Tier could offer T11 gear and specialized ammo perks with a small chance for the generic ones. This combined with SBMM would mean everyone faces other skilled players, yet within an attainable reach. Every other activity is within reach for all players, again, why should PvP have a path to rewards be through elite players?
again, ego and elitism
These two factors would still allow for grinding amd hope for all players, thus reviving a dwindling a game mode.

1 RespuestaI guess in the same way players get normal and heroic raid gear, not being flawless but completing a passage could take you to a smaller chest with the normal trials gear?
-
The amount of flawless runs someone has means nothing the other day I saw someone with full pariah gear so I checked his stats cause I was curious he had 88x flawless runs with a 0.8 kd. The only thing I can get behind is the elo part but elo wasn't created by bungie it's a community thing kd was bungie's thing but not elo
-
I would like to see one day added to ToO and the only people allowed in are none flawless players. It could rotate the first two weeks Thursday is non flawless only and the last two weeks Monday is non flawless only. The other days stay the same. This would still make you work against some good players, but allow us to give it a shot without going against streamers on our first match at least one day a week.

-
I agree. I am constantly hearing it's about skill, there is NO skill in high end players rolling over average players, other than the high end getting an easy flawless. It should be harder for the high end players, especially if they have gone flawless 50+ times. If it's all about skill, then they should have to really sweat!!!!
-
4 RespuestasThis will make going flawless progressively harder for better players though. I don't think that's fair. I think, if anything is done, the idea of putting people in the "Big Kids Pool" after going flawless once in a week, and letting them go flawless AGAIN there, is a better idea.
-
1 RespuestaOsiris is calling you guardian... Improve your skill... Stomp the competition
-
2 RespuestasTrials is not for "average players." It's for top tier PvP players. And yes, I am an average player. I've never played ToO; not even once.
-
17 Respuestas>average >trials Pick one and only one.
-
Edit 1. Please don't take the brackets as Gospel. I don't know all the stats. The idea is a progression idea. Edit 2. I'm ps4 if you are looking to see how average I am. Not sure why that's needed tho. Edit 3. Open to all ideas, please don't just mock and troll, I'm trying to do this to improve gameplay for the average, not trying to "cry" about it. Nothing wrong with more enjoyment or improvement
-
Absolutely agree with this. The PVE aspect of the game is available to all players and can be completed by all players. The PVP part of the game (and the best rewards) are dedicated to the pros. Not only do the pros get the best rewards from PVE because they are assisted (and good) but they also are able to "farm" flawless. The game needs to be able to give everyone a fair chance. I'm not saying a trip to the light house shouldn't be difficult, but it shouldn't feel like a frustrating unfair match up. I load up my card with boons and face 2 top tier teams, I lose my mercy and my boons and then suddenly the matches that are more around my level appear. What's the point of carrying on? Matchmaking I feel should always be based on flawless amounts and be within 5 flawless victories in the first 5 games and within 10 on your last 4 games. That way you are pretty much playing within your level capacity at that time. Come on BUNGIE, please do something about this.

1 RespuestaBump the hell out of this! This is the one thing that stops me from playing trials.
