It's incredibly distracting and makes the game look awful. Who thought that this was a good idea?

For those who say they don't have the film grain: Not everyone is affected by this issue. I advice against posting: "Not showing up for me at all" because IT IS affecting several people, you're just one of the lucky few who is not affected.

Thanks!! I thought my tv had added noise. Film grain is annoying

After discussing this, and observing it myself, it seems like something that randomly "breaks" on its own. I.e. It's not happening at first, but then over a period of time, or after a number of on/off cycles, some file becomes corrupted and the graininess inserts itself. This happened to me after my 2nd or 3rd app close/open cycle. So some people may never experience, some people did right away, and everyone else will experience it at some point.
Apparently even Destiny's bugs are a RNG grind now?
6 Respuestas
It's incredibly distracting and makes the game look awful. Who thought that this was a good idea?
Bad here but it seems it shows on 4k tvs the most. You can adjust sharpness but that defeats the purpose. Everyone with normal HD prob see clearer picture but us 4k guys are looking at garbage.

2 RespuestasEditado por Sunbroken: 9/11/2016 2:23:39 AMYou'd think that 30 posts about one issue would be enough. Obviously not

And people think the dlc will be good. Seriously do they test there product? The graphicS now suck. How can year 3 look much worse than year 1.
-
It's a bug. If you ever played chamber of night or I think the mission that was reskined as Malok strike, that floating ball that we destroyed would do the same thing to the screen when you close to it. Either way, it's ass and needs to go.

5 RespuestasEditado por PapaSubpar: 9/10/2016 1:29:07 PMI do not think it was intentional. I think it is a bug, since it does not happen all the time. But yeah, it does look awful, and is hella distracting when it occurs. Lol: At all the people claiming that it is an issue with our TV's display. I have a 1080p display here. It does not occur on any other game except for Destiny, and it only started happening since the update. Please stop posting, when you have no idea what you are talking about.

So it wasn't just me...

Its awful in alluhkuls pit, that pitch black causes the grain effect to show up more than ever, its awful
-
1 RespuestaIs it as bad as Mass Effect 1?
-
Just FYI. Cozmo responded to a similar post. It's not an intended effect and Bungie is currently investigating the cause.
-
4 RespuestasSits back on legacy destiny. Enjoying the game and not having to deal with the bitching and crying and the film grain. Yeah I don't get anything new. But when I do upgrade it will all be new to me and I'm sure all that shit will be somewhat fixed. Enjoy!

1 RespuestaFilm grain?
-
7 RespuestasI am running 1080p and hooked into HDMI and am seeing none of this film grain effect people are mentioning. As per current forum logic: this issue is either nonexistent or on your end, as Bungie would say.
-
6 RespuestasI seriously have no idea what your talking about. The graphics are exactly the same as before.
-
Editado por rat farts: 9/11/2016 2:23:40 AMThat happens to me sometimes, either ignore and wait for it to disappear or restart the game and/or console
-
Haven't noticed it tbh.
-
What film grain? I don't see any.
-
Bungie is aware of this 👍
-
I noticed it right away loading into the tower, thought it was just me! BTW running a 4k monitor
-
I noticed it before the update in shadows on the dreadnought but really haven't seen it anywhere else.
-
The sunless strike mission at the boss is horrible. You can definitely tell it there. I kept getting confused on which way was which.
-
1 RespuestaAA has been reduced too, getting horrible jaggies plus this ugly film grain business. What gives bungie?
-
3 RespuestasI know right. It's -blam!-ing bad, and only cursing so a ninja sees this and this gets to Bungie. I'll take one for the team boys
-
Nobody did. It's a glitch. Bungee said they are fixing it.
