*Mortar begins coughing up massive amounts of a strange fungal spore*
I have died before. I will die again. But it will not be today.
*The fungus seems to close the wounds and make the poison not as effective. Meanwhile Cyan is disinfecting the dagger*
The skin will be mishapped. The lungs could collapse and she would need artificial ones. Same as the heart.

Reese was devastated. He sat on the floor to recollect himself. However, he couldn't hold his emotions back any longer; he put his hands against his face and began to cry, feeling that he failed his daughter. Suddenly, he felt a wet hand touch his shoulder. It was Clara, who then gave him an easing and accepting look. She then hugged him, and he hugged back, leaving silver markings all over his cloak. Then, she looked to Wyatt and kissed him, and went over to Cyan. She hugged her as well, then held out her arm and nodded in confirmation. It was quiet.

*Cyan nods as Mortar stumbles in* Mortar: Clara! What happened? Cyan: Mortar. I'm sorry, but we... We have to freeze her to keep her alive. Mortar: Wh-what? No. There has to be another way! Cyan: I wish there was... But anything we can do will take time, and we don't have it. Mortar: alright. If that is the only way. *Mortar, with sadness in his eyes, walks over to Clara and hugs her hard, but gently enough to not hurt her* See ya later Clara. *When he lets go Cyan waits a minute before walking up. After nodding, eyes filled with regret, she slowly stabs a hole in Clara's arm. She becomes solid again but cannot move as the warmth leaves her body, turning her into a human statue. When it is done, Cyan backs up* Cyan: I'm sorry, Reese. Hopefully this will fix her. We can get her artificial organs and give her the best plastic surgery to make her look as she did before this happened. She will become as she was again.
-
Reese looked down at the frozen Clara. "I hope so," Reese said, worriedly. He hugged Cyan, grateful for what she's done. "I don't know what I--we would have done without you," he said as he did so. Wyatt knelt down toward Clara and touched her cheek for a few seconds. "You truly are extraordinary," he whispered. He then got up and stood next to the others. Wilson then beeped through Reese's gauntlets as he was hugging Cyan: "Poor Clara...Wait. Aren' ya people gonna carry her know and ' escape?" Reese suddenly let go of Clara. "Oh--yeah," he said, collecting himself. "We should probably do that."
-
Mortar: Yeah. I have a key card from Onus, and a sword. Oh, by the way. *He hands Cyan the blade, which she accepts* ISIC: I think I got the Turrets deactivated. Not sure if that Brutus guy knows about it though. Mortar: If he does then he WILL die. I don't care if he thinks himself invisible. EVERYTHING has a weakness. Cyan: I'll help Reese carry Clara back to safety. Caesar and Mortar, find a way out of here, and defend us if anyone comes.

Wyatt heads toward the other end of the room. "You said you've got a ship key, right?" Wyatt asked Mortar, rhetorically. "I know a way out." Wyatt and the others headed down a series of hallways, sneaking by the alerted guards (the warship was still on lockdown). Soon, they came across a large, open starship bay. Large waves of freed prisoners stormed the area, shouting and jacking the docked ships. When Wyatt walked forward, a former prisoner of war came up to him: "We're free!" he shouted, shaking Wyatt as he did. "We're free!" He ran off, raising his arms and yelling for the joy of freedom. In the center was a large squad of soldiers, led by Brutus, who swung and fired at the large crowds of former prisoners. "I will crush your skulls!" Brutus bellowed. He then swung his hammer downward at the crowd, smashing some into a bloody pulp. "Fight me!" The soldiers fired at the crowds, decimating them. Wyatt turned back to face the others behind him. "Looks like we've got company," Wyatt observed. "Reese and Cyan, make sure none of the soldiers see you with Clara. Mortar, Caesar and I will take care of Brutus."
-
*Before saying anything to Wyatt Mortar yells out at Brutus* Mortar: You know what?! I'm really disappointed... No, pissed! We're upgrading to pissed... At you. You are nothing but criminals, and every criminal can be stopped. You deem yourself invincible, but you have never fought ME before! *You watch in horror as he begins to float. A large metal ball forms around him. Inside, Mortar is changing. His arms become larger, thicker, stronger. His feet become talons. He becomes much larger and more durable. His neck elongates and his head looks much more dragon like. He sprouts four massive leathery wings. Three massive arms protrude from his back, attached to them a cannon bigger than that on a tank. He bursts out of the orb changed. He lets out an ear crushing roar. This is Bahamortar. This is Gore.* Gore: Face me like a man! *Meanwhile, Cyan is holding Reese and Clara close to her, finding cover. She has seen him only once do this before, and it destroyed an entire race. She definitely does NOT want to be in his line of fire.*
-
As Mortar/Gore bursted out of his iron ball, the escaping prisoners run away in fear. Brutus orders his men behind him, who are armed with rocket launchers. Meanwhile, Wyatt took cover behind a stack of large steel crates with Caesar. "Ha!" Brutus bellowed, giving a roaring laugh as he did. "I will face you as Goliath!" Suddenly, large kryanium beams and plates emerged from his back, and his tank-like armor grew steadily in size. Afterward, his suit turned into a large mech, twice the size of Gore. He looked down at him and cracked his knuckles, which were spiked and glowing with heat. As he did, an array of turrets and torpedoes emerged from his shoulders. He then drew out a large, buzzing war hammer. With his other hand, he flicked his heated finger at Gore, sending him flying to the opposite wall. "You god-mod," he shouted, "I god-mod!" Aiming his projectiles, he began firing a continuous flurry of rockets and energy bullets, piercing Gore and holding him back against the wall. His soldiers followed suit.
-
dude. He's like forty feet tall right now
*Gore dissolves into the wall* You call yourself strong. But you'll die just as everyone else who faced me. *A large portal opens up behind the soldiers, multiple large winged imps with fireballs in their hands run through, slaughtering everything they can. Cyan's eyes widen* Cyan: We gotta move. NOW.
-
It's a big hangar.
Reese looked toward Cyan. "We can't go..." Reese stated. "Mortar's got the key card to the ship." The soldiers turned toward the portal. They gathered large, steel box frames and placed them together, forming mobile gatling turrets; they mounted them and began firing at the incoming demons, holding most of them back inside the portal. Meanwhile, Wyatt and Caesar were grouping up with Reese and Cyan and headed over to an available ship (most were already taken by the escaping prisoners of war). Brutus wrestled with Gore, beating him with his large hammer and flaming fists. He flung Gore a distance from himself and fired with his shoulder turrets. The others huddled behind a starship, peeking over at the nearby sporadic. "Cyan, you've got to stay here, watch over Clara," Reese told. "I have to get the key card from Mortar." "The higher-ranking starships have a self-destruct security system," Wyatt reminded. "If we try to break in without it, we'll be ashes." Around them, there were already the ruins of detonated ships, the corpses of both prisoners and soldiers littering them. "I'll come with you," Wyatt said, looking at Reese. "This is my fight just as much as it is yours." "No," Reese responded. "I've got to go alone; I can't risk anyone else here getting hurt." He then looked at Cyan, putting his hands on her shoulders. "Stay," he repeated, looking straight into her eyes. "I promise he won't get hurt." He hesitated. "I love you." He let go, then turned and ran toward the fight, flinging his mask on. Wilson buzzed at Reese through his mask: "I'll be wit' ya 'till da end." Reese smiled. "You're just as stupid as I am," he replied. "I kno' dat."
-
*Mortar quickly notices Reese and retreats slightly to run over to him* What are you doing? *Mortar forms a massive iron ball to take out the soldiers as the demons fire fireballs and purple blades. He forms another the block any incoming shots* You don't have the key card, I forgot. *He hands you the card* Just take a ship and get as far away as possible.
-
Well that was a bit anticlimactic. ._.
"Got it," Reese acknowledged, shooting down a few soldiers to his side with his SAOR as he did. "But what about--" Brutus noticed Reese when he came up to Mortar, and fired a flurry of bullets at him. Reese shook, bullets piercing his body, and fell to the floor. "Ha!" Brutus bellowed. "A menace to the SHG has been conquered!" Brutus drew back his hammer, aiming at the lying Reese.
-
No! *Mortar grabs Reese before Brutus can do anything and holds him on his back. He grabs Brutus and smashes him into the ground. He uses his PST to blink Reese back to Cyan, who quickly hugs him hard*
-
Brutus wrestled his way out of the ground, then grabbed ahold of Gore's back-cannon and tore it off. He then tackled him fired the severed cannon at Gore, propelling him at high velocity out of the hangar grid, sending him drifting out into space. Meanwhile, Reese hung limp in Cyan's arms. Wyatt darted over to her. "Reese!" he shouted. He checked for a heartbeat, then shook him. "C'mon," he stated. "You've still got a daughter to look after...Come on..!" Wilson ran diagnostics. "'Tis hard ta tell," Wilson concluded, perplexed with the given remainder. "He may be minutes away from death." Inside his hand was the ship key that Mortar passed to him.
-
*Mortar, now being out of the ship, loses his restrictions on his PST, and opens a portal to his pocket dimension, allowing him air to breathe. After about thirty seconds of coughing and gasping for air and reverting to his normal form, he grabs his PST and calls Cyan. Cyan, noticing that her PST is active, runs with Reese, Caesar holding Clara, to a place very hidden from view* Cyan: Mortar? Where are you? What happened? Mortar: Cyan. I'm... In pain but Alright. I had to get out of there after he threw me out of the ship, releasing the restrictions on my PST and bringing me to the Pocket Dimension. How's Reese? *Cyan points the camera of the PST to the unconscious Reese* Mortar: No, no, no. This can't happen, he can't die; he won't die. This is all my fault. Cyan: This is no one's fault. That's not the point. We need to move. Now. Before I detonate the bombs I placed around the ship. *Caesar still hasn't said anything, he is rather surprised as he is looking at the demon portal. He then quickly grabs Cyan by the collar and starts running away with her. The PST cuts out and Mortar can't be heard anymore* Cyan: Wha-- Caesar: Garuud! *Cyan nods and runs with him, Reese in her arms*
-
Wyatt picked up the frozen Clara and followed behind Cyan. "Wait!" Wyatt shouted, running behind them as he did. "Where are we going?" Brutus notices Caesar, Wyatt, and Clara running toward the portal. "I will not let you escape!" he bellowed. Subsequently, he procured the massive cannon that Gore once had on his back, then fired a large, heated steel Boulder at them; his remaining soldiers fired their rockets at them.
-
They weren't heading towards the portal. They are running AWAY from what came out of it
*The orb is caught by the hand of a large man, his head only five feet from the ceiling. The man looks at Brutus and frowns, picking up his cannon with ease* ???: Tell me, who challenges my army? *He throws the orb back at Brutus's men, it explodes when it hits the ground* Cyan: Wyatt! We need to leave. Now! He's not allowed to see Caesar nor myself! *Cyan and Caesar run to where the docked ships are*
-
"Me? I'm already following you!" Wyatt responded. Brutus looks up at the large, steel ball launching back at him. "I will not die without a fight!" he bellowed. He fired all of his shoulder turrets at the ball, but was soon crushed by the impact.
-
*The large man smiles slightly as he draws a large crimson katana, an ear sickening shriek comes from the sheathe as it is drawn* Hmm... Best to end a war before it starts. *He stabs his sword into the ground, creating a shockwave that knocks out all the power on the ship*
-
Wyatt took the ship key from Cyan and inserted it into the side of the starship; he and the others then rushed inside. It was a quarters ship; in other words, it had enough room for shipping and living quarters. As there was not any time to look around, Wyatt ran over to one of the pilot seats in the ship, quickly examining the wide array of levers, handles, and buttons; he tied Clara to one of the passenger seats. "Alright," he said, hurriedly. "We're getting out of here." The ship lifted of the surface of the hangar, then began to fly toward the exit grid. Suddenly, a large group of demons flew in the way, flinging large fireballs. Wyatt shot them down with rapid accuracy. "Hold on!" He pressed a row of buttons then pulled back a lever and pressed its trigger, setting the ship into quick warp drive. In a matter of seconds, the ship shot out into space, far away from the warship. Wyatt checked the radar for any enemy targets (which there were none nearby), then laid his head back against the top of his seat and turned it to face his two pale companions; one of them was still holding firmly onto Reese. "Alright," Wyatt exclaimed, exhausted. "What the hell was that thing back there?!"
-
Caesar: That... Thing... Cyan: That thing was my Father, Garuud. He is a disgusting leader, a shiver looking for a spine to go down. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Most likely he wants Mortar. *Speaking of, a portal opens right next to Cyan, Mortar spilling out of it* I'm back. What did I miss?
-
Wyatt turned to Mortar. "Some...Garuud demon-lord came with a demonic army and tried to kill us," he explained, baffled by the words that came out of his mouth. "Cyan thinks he's coming after you." He then turned back to Caesar. "You," he stated, angrily. "We need to talk."
-
Caesar: Me? Mortar: My dad is trying to kill me again? Oh, COME ON! *Cyan just sits there, holding Reese, not wanting to give up just yet*
-
Wilson buzzed through Reese's dented mask: "'Tis me, Wilson. Look, ev'ryt'ing is gonna be alright Cyan..." He ran diagnostics again. Reese was at critical; it was only a matter of time. Wilson ejected the mask so that Cyan could take one last look, if it was. "He was a good mon," Wilson stated. "He was a brave one, too. Nevah did I see one like him. He love his daughta, he love his friends, and he love ya Cyan. I apologize... I wish I cou' say moh 'bout him; wasn' programmed for dis protocol." Wyatt looked at Reese, thoughtfully and guiltily. "This is all my fault," he said, reflectively. "He was my fallen comrade...it's my burden to take that responsibility with me." He stood, then helmet in his arm and side, he saluted with his right hand. "It was an honor to serve alongside you." "'Twas a shame," Wilson added. "He Neva's got to say goodbye to his daughta..." The space was quiet.
-
No. *Everyone looks over at the source of the voice. Mortar. Cyan looks more surprised, since Reese and Mortar were good friends she thought he would be more saddened by this. But in fact he looks more determined. More... Sadistic even* He is not gonna die. He's not gonna stay dead, and he will live to take care of his daughter, even if I have to die in the process. *Mortar begins rummaging through a first aid kit, even though that won't do much, he eventually finds a pair of tweezers* First we have to get the bullets out. To prepare the body. *He carefully inserts the tweezers into one of the holes, taking out a couple bullets* Cyan: Mortar. What are you doing? Mortar: I'm not gonna let him die. If he is indeed dead right now I can still save him. I can. And i will. *He glares at Cyan before resuming*
-
Wyatt looked at Mortar skeptically, then hesitantly went over to help remove the bullets. "I'll help in any way I can," he said, sincerely. He set aside his helmet and kneeled down, removing the bullets one by one. A few minutes passed. Suddenly, Wyatt noticed something. "That's weird," Wyatt observed, somewhat unsettled. "I've never seen this sort of metal before; I wonder how the SHG got their hands on this..." Wyatt inspected the strange metal below the ceiling light. It was a black metal, giving off a dark reflection that was faintly purple. "Know what this is?" he asked, curiously.
