I was checking out Twitch for the LCS League playoffs, of course this early the EU guys are playing.
League on the EU playoffs--80-90k people watching.
I noticed that Overwatch is also doing some weird 300k dollar playoff thing.
10-13k people watching

That 300k playoff thing is called a tournament

I still play a lot of Overwatch.

5 RespuestasOverwatch was fun for two weeks.
-
Twitch is dumb fixed
-
8 RespuestasI don't like overwatch I'm not defending it but twitch just show young teens are watching. Pretty small fraction to how many gamers are really out there
-
Nobody cares about the division anymore. I mean really, never see anyone playing it.
-
It's still pretty popular. It's almost always in the top 5 of games
-
2 RespuestasLeague is only not at the top when other games are having big tournaments. Even COD has been at the top.
-
6 RespuestasOverwatch is in the top 5 games being watched on Twitch. Not sure what exactly you are on about.

13 RespuestasI would think the cause of low view numbers is because a large percentage of the games population is spending its time playing rather than watching. Which is nice because you want people playing but I feel you do miss out on things you yourself could do by not watching the game played at the highest level i.e. strats, comps, map navigation etc etc etc. Another reason could be the fact that anyone who was or is into OW pro games knows with 99% certainty the Envyus is going to win every tournament they are in, they are just that much better atm. Other teams are getting better but the last few I watched seemed to be a fight for second and third. That can cause people to lose interest in watching if they know who is gonna win and that team doesn't happen to be their team. Also just because people aren't watching it on twitch does not mean the game is dead or dying. It does not mean people stopped caring about it and/or stopped playing it. It means they aren't watching it, which means steps need to be taken to make it more entertaining and interesting to its viewers.

League is and has for a long time been by far the top dog. You can't expect a new game, no matter how popular it is, to compete.
-
1 RespuestaUhh, what? The general audience doesn't watch tournaments.
-
They took out competitive mode (at least for non tournament play) so until season 2 starts I doubt many ppl will be playing or watching. Blizzard should have left the mode in, just stopped the season. They Definitely notcied their player count drop since season 1 ended.
-
3 RespuestasBecause Overwatch tournaments aren't as entertaining to watch. Not as much notoriety either, lots of people don't really know that many Overwatch teams.
-
3 RespuestasDid they ever? I mean really,.....ever?
-
3 RespuestasIsn't league like the only reason 99% of the ppl use twitch?
-
6 RespuestasLeague is still the biggest game in the world too, so that's no surprise. Especially if it's the playoffs of their biggest tournament. Of course overwatch won't have as big a viewer count.
