We all know gamestop is going under, so how long do you think gamestop will last before it goes out of business?
If you think it won't, please explain why you think this.

2 RespuestasIdk, I always buy new AAA titles through GameStop and anything else I pick up used at GameXchange. I like physical copies.

Editado por LochieXCIX: 8/29/2016 3:04:41 PMI'd buy my games digitally on console but the prices are a little ridiculous for my liking. At least with GameStop games drop in price over time. It's pretty much the only reason why I buy from retail at this point. Also, I doubt GameStop is going to go out of business for a very long time.

Well seeing as they're the main games supplier and people are still getting disk games... A while.

4 RespuestasI think they should buy Gamefly.

4 RespuestasI would have to say a very long time at least here we still have a blockbuster

2 RespuestasGameStop in Canada is called EBGames and it's run by the same company, it's just called something different for whatever reason. (It used to be called GameStop) I never do any buying/selling/trading there anymore, it's ridiculous. Used copies of games are $5 cheaper. Seriously? As if $80 for a new game wasn't bad enough, $75 for used is ridiculous. I only use this obscure store that has two locations, and they sell new games for $75, and used, depending on the game and number of stock they have, from $10 to $58.

3 RespuestasEditado por Sorana3: 8/26/2016 9:44:11 PMI personally believe they would just rebrand and start selling other things if physical game sales significantly declined. I've already seen it starting. As soon as you walk into their store these days you see a lot of different merchandise that wouldn't have been there a year or two ago (those Pops for instance).

1 RespuestaSelling merchandise and some other stuff will keep them alive for a long time.
-
1 RespuestaThe same amount if time it would take for the Earth to crumble
-
3 RespuestasI'm not sure if it will. At the very least it'll be a long time yet. I don't think physical games are going anywhere.
-
3 RespuestasI don't see how they're still in business at all right now, other than the convenience of buying used games on the fly. If I wanted a new game, console, or controllers today, I could go to Best Buy, Walmart, or Target and I think some of them are even doing the pre-owned game thing now too.
-
2 RespuestasNo offense to digital buyers, but I will always prefer a disc. And if anyone is like me, we usually go to gamestop for it.
-
1 RespuestaAs long as people like me value the physical game over digital GameStop will do just fine.
-
They are creating back up plans. Purchasing Thing Geek shows us this.

7 RespuestasEditado por Vortex: 8/26/2016 5:10:13 PMIt probably wont... cause it's gamestop. You know, Rick Harrisons vidoe game pawn shop. Things u buy are expensive as hell, but when you trade, everything is cheap af

1 RespuestaEven when all games go digital they can do preorders with collectors items and sell cards and stuff which eventualy will be no different than a Walmart so 10 years def be down but not out entirely
-
1 RespuestaI still think there's merit in buying physical copies of games. The resale value, no matter how small it might be, is still appealing. Sharing games is also much easier when you can just give someone a disc. Even then, however, most people are going digital now. I'd say 5-10 years before they really start being hit hard.
-
1 RespuestaIf they would drop the pushing people to pre-order shit they might actually have more people go ship there. I stopped going for that reason alone and I'm sure I'm not the only person to feel the sa.e.
-
1 RespuestaThere may be fewer stores, but I think the company will linger for a while, especially if they can come up with a way to sell digital copies of games and if preordering doesn't die

My little city has 3 options for buying games(other then digital) Walmart EB Games (GameStop) And a small local game and trade store that orders a few new copies of games but lives on trades...that and he buys rare games cheap of people who know nothing and then sells high to local collector's or online We also have a small group of locals on a FB page that sell and trade games on a daily basis, I've bought a few and sold a few with no issues and most people fairly price a game($40-60 for new games within a month) EB Games has 4 staff, two guys and two girls...one guy is all about games, the other is a music guy and works there, both girls are into games and love to talk about with anyone...there they are just another gamer
