I'm sick and tired of people who main one class talking about nerfing other classes and making up ridiculous statistics and numbers. These people that don't understand game mechanics, yet complain about them. Like some of these people you wouldn't even think play destiny how off they are. "Lightning grenades are the only non-sticky grenades that can one shot people" Lightning grenades tick for about 122 damage, meaning they can't one shot. Incendiary grenades and scatter grenades are not stickies and they are capable of OHKs. "Throwing knives shouldn't be able to OHK" They DON'T. They do around 142 damage... To the head! If that kills you at full health I think your guardian has some kind of terminal illness. "Aim assist on snipers..." I don't think people who complain about this even know what aim assist does. It's on all weapons, but it acts differently on snipers. If you're walking around corners in places you know someone is hard scoped, then honestly I have no words for you. "Shot guns take no skill!" Well I guess if you had any you wouldn't die!!! "Shoulder charge is OP" There is a man running towards you... And you have a gun. Uuuuuuuuuuuse it!!!! If you let a titan run up in your face, chances are if he had a shotty he/she would have killed you anyway. People make the stupidest and most retarded claims here. If you have 3 hunters, you don't understand how any other classes work so please don't complain about them. The same goes for titans and warlocks. If you can't snipe, don't complain about snipers. If you can't shot gun... Then there might actually be something wrong with you (Lol) . But honestly, you people are trying to break the game and don't even know it. Thanks for all the likes and comments. I appreciate the support guys!

      • Lightning grenades seem to have some kind of boosted damage around the first pulse. I'm not sure if this is only close range to reward good placement, a glitch, or just lag. My only real problem with lightning grenade is that it just seems better than other spike grenades in all meaningful ways. I think the void spike grenades should deal continuous damage in their AoE and slow targets while they are taking damage. The trade off would be lower DPS for stronger area denial. I think trip mines should stick to enemies but be mediocre as both a sticky and a spike type grenade. Pretty well every other grenade of those 2 types should outperform trip mines in that function, with the benefit being that it can preform both jobs (one hit on stick for all or all but high armor, no one hit on surface detonations, little to no AA, the strobe stays and it is still a single detonation, still just as lethal to the user). This should make other stickies better if you want a grenade that sticks, and other spike grenades better if you want area denial or a grenade that can target enemies behind cover.

        • Yes you are right of course!! The things, the arguments and the shear number of complains lost all reason and limits!! That does not mean that everything is perfect and we aren't allowed to criticise. I play all three classes and believe shoulder charge and stormtrance are a bit too easy and rewarding... But I'm so sick of all all the nerfs and tweaks that I just learned to live with it...

        • Couldn't agree more. Each class and subclass is unique and each have their strengths and weaknesses. "OP" (to me) means there is no counter for ________ or nothing else stands a chance. For the most part I believe the current "meta" is one of if not the most balanced one yet. Many gamers, myself included hate to admit they were outgunned, dominated or defeated. More people need to just take their death or loss and move on.

          • Bro... No you're right. My 25 years as a gamer means nothing when talking about Destinys mechanics. Because shooting things in the face and using space magic is so original. Nope. Never encountered those concepts before. Everyone is welcome to discuss class and weapon balance. We can go through your points. Aim assist slows down the reticle over a target. This objectively makes it easier to land shots. You can debate this until blue in the face, but this is the mechanic console devs use to literally assist you in aiming. Hence the name... I went back and played Halo 3 over the weekend. Now THAT game actually requires you to be on point with your shots. Got back on Destiny with my 1000k and had to laugh at how the game was bascially giving me free kills. As for shotguns... I'm really not gonna debate this one. Anyone who has ever played a video game ever will know the average Joe gamers opinion on rushers and campers. "Hur dur! It's a legit strategy hur dur dur!" Shoulder charge... This one is a mixed bag. The motion tracker in Destiny is just imprecise enough to make reacting to a charging titan next to impossible at times. Unless I'm sporting a CQB weapon, there is no hope of killing a competent shoulder charge titan. He's gonna use cover to his advantage to get close. His teammates are gonna supress, not allowing for escape. Often I'll be fighting one guy, and his bro will come up on me before I can disengage and react. I recently started using Plan C to combat this strategy, but fusions are very inconsistent. If someone is not enjoying certain aspects of the game, or feel the balance is leaning one way or another, they should few welcome to express it. Discussion is good. Criticism of Bungies game is good. Attacking other players because you disagree with them is not. Save it for the crucible!

            • Shoulder charge itself isn't over powered, but I swear, it's lock on is the most buggy thing. I've had people whiff it right under me and I still end up being killed by it. If they do anything to it, maybe a lock on change would be the best thing. Because being on the ground and hitting someone who is about 6 feet above you is a but ridiculous.

              Very nice post and i agree Completely. People that think shoulder charge is OP need to read this list. It is long with a TL;DR. If you think shoulder charge is op you are WRONG, and right. Reasons it is: With peregrine greaves, it can one shot just about anybody in PvP no matter what and there is t always a defense available. Even without peregrine greaves it normally kills with one hit, and sometimes there just isn't enough time to avoid it. The reasons it is not, bear with me here: ALL CLASSES HAVE A DEFAULT COUNTER TO IT (aside from just shooting them). I said it. Not all subclasses though. Hunter: If playing a hunter, there is no way you can survive a hit from a shoulder charge, unless buffed in some way. The counter is there though. You have a move on all three classes that exists as a perfect counter. SC has tracking but it isn't amazing tracking. (Sometimes it is pretty B's though) Hunters - your jump allows you to go the fastest (besides blink) vertically in the game..use it. GS - Either use your jump and go over them, or weaken them and use your throwing knife before they get close. BD - You have blink. NS- you have shade step. Juke them out. Go one way and dodge into the other right before they charge. Now for the warlocks VW- you can use the ram, and a chest piece to have enough armor to survive a SC. And blink. If armor build, by the time they realise you aren't dead, you have killed them. SS- flame shield. If you melee before they hit, you live. StCaller- uuuuuuuuuh good luck...? But if you complain about shoulder charge, remember you have a melee that doubles your already crazy melee range... Titans: Strikers - you can have enough base armor (11, I think the max is 12 with a chest piece) to easily survive a shoulder charge. Or, you know, skate away. Or trade with another SC Defender - suppressor grenades / Increased height jump. Gets you up pretty quick. Sunbreaker - good luck. Just plop em with a fusion grenade and hope you dodge, then forget about em. TL;DR: Shoulder charge is not Unstoppable. But that is a very good perk, see what I did there ;)))))

            • I feel nerf breaks the game tweaking with buffs in certain areas would have fixed the game, when people view something as "overpowered" in my opinion it's only because other things lack the power its suppose to have. There need to be equal power across all 3 guardians, no nerfing and let it be about how the guardian uses his skills and weapons to defeat opponents

              • I've played since Beta and have 3 Hunters, it's irrelevant what you main or play on... You can still have an informed opinion, especially if said opinion is backed up by simple facts, patterns, encounters and comparisons. So please stop thinking that running all three types entitles you also to an informed opinion. I'd rather take the feedback of someone who lives and breathes within a certain subclass then take advice from someone who casuals one ⅓ of their play time.

              • Alot of the times you can guess where a one hitter for snipers is on the person. It takes minor adjustments to your aim (((note I do this without aim assist. That's just a silly thing that inhibits me more than helps me)))

              • Yeah, people like to toss around that snipers have the extreme aim assist but are the only weapons least affected by aim assist. They are the least affected by bullet magnetism. The strongest form of AA on snipers is on slowdown. You getting shot around corners or walls, that's pure connection on you or your opponent. Sorry, but P2P, client side authoritative, and latency don't go well together. It sucks. :/ But as for the throwing knife regard, I think that's in relation to people wanting it to one shot to the head. I'm sorry, but it should never have any potential to one shot. I'm fine with a buff to it, but with it's current magnetism; it should never be able to one shot. As for the people complaining about striker Titans, they really have nothing left to complain about... So, that's what we get. :/ Titans are suddenly over-powered.It only took the community a year and half to start it, but they did it.

              • Whatever. Lightning grenades are garbage compared to flash bang. Everyone blindly hops aboard whatever hype train is in the neighborhood. Stormtrance is strong and so is the Melee but the jumps and grenade suck. Hunters are plain squishy. The only thing I agree with is that skating is an exploit of sorts. I don't agree with straight line vs maneuverability argument. I main a Titan atm as well.

                • Let's face it , the people that are asking for nerfs or for buffs don't ask because they want the betterment of the game , they want it because they think that if they get those nerfs or buffs they'll get better in the game , but guess what ? That's not going to happen , the people that are good in the game and I mean really ,really good in the game can stomp you with even the biggest handicap because the meta means nothing to those players. the decent player will just move from meta to meta and still be going positive and the crappy player will start to whine about OP weapons and OP classes without realizing that the problem doesn't lie with the game but with them.

                  • I've never really thought of it this way but I agree. I don't have a Warlock anymore so I can't say for sure how big of an impact recent changes have made on the classes. Classic "don't judge a book by its cover".

                  • I see a lot of interesting posts about shoulder charge nerfs but worse is the taking skating out stuff I'll be honest I'd be fine with it as a titan Main but at that point you guys are FORCING us to use Juggernaut+Shotty you do realize this right? and lets be alittle real here for those who say take skating out and probably argue "supposed to be a tank class" by all means do it but LET US be tanks I remember when sunbreakers were OP one of the BIGGEST complaints was that it couldn't be 1 shot by a sniper Allowing us to be tanks = that kind of result maybe not with the super but in some ways form or fashions my role is to LIVE through things that YOU would not so seriously ask yourself if your okay with that and if you think that would be balanced I mean people are still mad that strikers can live a headshot so.

                    • Titan skating should show you how fast shoulder charge is and the range of it is just as good as the storm caller extended range melee. Honestly if I'm lucky I get a trade in. Most of them don't come running in a straight line without cover. It doesn't take any melee charge or anything to use and there is virtually no cool down for it. It is a one hit kill and is overpowered when compared to everything in the current state. Especially with the damage referee and implementations for lag, a trade is often the best anyone can do

                      • I have tried all the classes. I don't mind them. Now one thing I hate is blink. Not because it's op. Because I always end up falling off a cliff. It's so disorientating.

                            Granted that I don't think SC should be able to OHK anyone, regardless of subclass, BUT both SC and the shotty abuse are foremost map issues. The maps in this game are just so incredibly bad. It's like they've gone out of their way to make sure that it's extremely hard to maintain map control and practicially impossible if you're not playing with a 6-man group over chat. Basically every spot on every map - with the exception of SoT and the bigger maps that currently are out of rotation - can be reached from atleast two but usually three paths. Combine that with the speed of some specs, the shotty range, the abundancy of special ammo and the pisspoor netcode and you got yourself a problem. With snipers you're either dying because you challenged and lost or because you were standing in a lane. There are very few of those lanes in the game but everywhere els you're at risk of getting ganked by a shotty-melee combo or SC. For every time I get sniped I've probably been killed by SC/Melee/shotty 20 times....atleast.
