With bungie being the makers of halo for so long, they built up a more dedicated Xbox fanbase before they had destiny. More people on Xbox were likely to make an account on bungie.net, so there's more people on Xbox with bungie accounts. I believe there are actually more people on playstation if I'm not mistaken

At that point, Bungie went dark and talked about nothing so nobody really made new accounts- there wasn't a reason to. The people that stuck around were active and most were Xbox users. I would hesitate to say that really skews the results at all, though. People that are here now are here for Destiny. As we know more people have Playstations, it seems more likely more Playstation users would be active at this time. While I know of some, I doubt there are all that many xbox users from the Halo Era who have never even played Destiny. My thought process flows that the skewing would instead come from next gen as a whole- people that follow Destiny close enough to make accounts for the forums are probably people that take gaming a little more seriously. People that take gaming a little more seriously seem more likely to keep up with current technology. So the people that are able to answer this poll are inherently more likely to have current gen consoles simply due to the sample base. I'm a sociologist. I love surveys and statistics but I'm sort of a stickler for baseless assumptions. So I like pointing them out. Not that mine have much more basis mind you- most of this post is certainly just an assumption.
