The defendant's defense was one of self defense, and both battery and assault [in CA] outline that they must be committed without acts of self defense to be found guilty. Since we found him not guilty on the greater charge of battery because of self defense, we also should have found him not guilty on the charge of assault, that's where she was confused.

How in God's name did that confuse her? It's pretty straight forward. Interesting. My questions are done as I was going to ask what you were there for, but I'll play the confused card.
