So I forget the guy's name, but there is somebody I would argue with on occasion about how I disliked the Witcher 3 and that I believed Skyrim was better.
Just wanted to come on here and say thank you, because I gave it another try (third attempt actually), and finally for whatever reason was able to get into it this time. The first few times I had tried the combat system kind of turned me off from it, I just think it feels a bit wonky. It still does, certain parts of it, mostly targeting enemies while in a group can be a bit awkward.
Other than that though, I got used to it and I'm kind of upset that I didn't get into this game sooner. It's amazing on pretty much every level. My chief complaint is that it is eventually going to end and it makes me sad. Normally I get tired of chasing around side missions and points of interest (looking at you Assasins Creed) but this game somehow keeps me hooked and wanting to explore every single part. I don't think I've ever been this distracted from a main storyline in a game since Fallout 3 or Oblivion.
Short version - thank you to the guy that kept arguing with me about how wrong I was about this game. It's a masterpiece. You were right and I was most definitely wrong.
Side note - is armor basically treated like it is in fashion souls? I understand that I should avoid getting hit whenever possible, should I just go with armor that looks visually pleasing while I'm dismembering people? I'm level 14 right now wearing griffin armor. Keep spoilers light if at all possible. Thank you!

1 RespuestaIm a huge Witcher fan. Ive read all the books and have spent 100s of hours playing the games. However, I personally enjoy Elder Scrolls games a bit more. ES games just seem to have more freedom, customization and more interesting places to explore. It's a hard pick, though.

I haven't played the game yet I think it's about time after the hype and the price went down a little

5 Respuestasi still do not understand how people can put up with such bad combat for so long. does gameplay really mean so little these days?

5 RespuestasThe witcher 3 aka thumb workout simulator. First hour oh cool story. Later just shut up bloody baron. Oh 6 hours later combat time wait it's boring.find out the difficulty mean nothing. Then begging the store to get a refund. Break a cinder block with my thumb thanks to skipping dialogue to threaten the cashier. Get banned sell it to your friend. Go digital.

Get Cat School gear and use the armor magic. Play gwent. Only lock on if you are 1 on 1. I think it came close to EsV Skyrim.
-
Armor matters. Nilfgaardian gauntlets, Manticore Chest, Manticore boots, New Moon trousers + roght build setup = laugh as everything dies.

2 RespuestasThank you for the replies (most of you anyways), I'm loving the game still. Up to lvl 15 now. Kind of wished I had just called out of work today, sat at home and played video games. It's too damn hot to be a mailman today.

Editado por Darth_Zone: 8/13/2016 9:23:13 AMWhen I first started playing witches 3 I couldn't get in to it. After about 3 months I picked it up again and couldn't put it down again. It's one of those games that I think is situational. In that if your not in the right head space at the time it won't click with you.... I'm happy that you found it again and that it had a positive impression on you :-) Game on!

I'm sure it's already been said but I prefer going south Witcher gear. Depending on your fighting style they have 4 different sets. Light, medium, and heavy. It does matter what you wear but in an types of armor you want to avoid basing hit. Really in the end it's whatever you like.

4 RespuestasPeople still jerk off to this game?

No armor does actually have a use. The protection for the most part is negligible on the higher levels, but you'll lose stamina (for signs) quicker with heavy armor, and you'll regen it quicker with light armor, medium armor is kinda in between. Also there are skills that will give you boosts if you're wearing all heavy, light, or medium armor. So it does play a factor, just not in the traditional sense.

I love Skyrim. It's my favorite game ever. When I played The Witcher 3 (at first), I enjoyed it but there was something missing- a certain "vibe"I got from playing Skyrim. As I continued the Witcher 3, I like you, realized what a friggin' masterpiece it is. It is absolutely beautiful and for me, RPG's are more about an immersive experience than skill (like Dark Souls was so hard!). So I continue to be amazed by ot daily. When the Skyrim special edition is released , I can delve back into my favorite video game environment. I played Skyrim all the time up until I got an XBoxOne...then I missed it so much, I bought it for PC and it was a whole new experiene due to MOD support. I can only imagine how much I'll enjoy the enhanced version with MODS.

I actually just finished it yesterday; to include the DLCs, I finished blood and wine last. I know what u mean, I'm sad. I can see myself playing it again real soon, it's just soooo huge and demands a lot lol
-
1 RespuestaWait till u play the Blood n wine DLC. Its a true master piece. Just make sure to do the side quests cuz some are pretty epic.
-
What? You were right, Witcher combat mechanics suck.

1 RespuestaI agree that the witcher 3 is a masterpiece, but I'm still just astounded that somebody on the internet admitted they were wrong. #greatrespect

I've always been a guy where I hold stats over what looks cool. Yes better rating armor will make a noticeable difference. Don't lock on with groups of enemies. You can still parry and dodge without being locked on.
-
Not trying to bring you down OP, as I'm glad you like the game. But how can you say skyrim is better when that has even worse combat?
-
I still can't like it :L

3 RespuestasArmor in Witcher 3 matters. It isn't like Dark Souls 3. More like Dark Souls. And yes. Witcher 3 is pretty much the best game ever made. In terms of quality and refinement at the very least. The game might not appeal to everybody, but nobody can deny it was made well.

2 RespuestasEditado por Psyntifik: 8/11/2016 4:57:00 PMCould have been me :p But I don't recognise your name. Light armour is better - faster regens.
-
Might have been me, I don't remember. But yes armor does make a difference and if you can, collect witcher gear manuscripts. They have special buffs on them to play to certain playstyles. I prefer griffin school armor.

Glad to see you enjoy it. You mentioned the targeting system in the game being one of the few wonky bits. I'd agree and it why I don't use the hard targeting. The combat flows much better without it because you feel the more agile combat style of a Witcher.
