I mean it's not that hard to type quickly if that's what you're getting at? I know some people (I teach so I see it all the time) REALLY suck at typing with any sort of efficiency or speed nowadays. Since the elimination of typing classes (where you actually learned to type on a typewriter) there has been a huge decrease in the number of words per minute that students can type and it's annoying as hell! I've decided this year that I will spend a good month at the beginning of every school year teaching basic typing skills to the kids just to increase their writing fluency and overall their efficiency. One of the BIGGEST problems I hear kids say is that they can't write fast enough to keep up with their thoughts and they lose track of what they wanted to say. Learning to type fast and ELIMINATING (yup I went there) cursive is the best way to counteract this problem.
