Back in the end of Year 1, sometimes I would use Blue/White weapons to throw people off that it wasn't the weapon but the user. Then I would get messages asking me where I got the weapon from, because a lot of people just assume the weapon is all the skill required for the kill. So I started using Y1 Necrocasm, universally lauded as a piece of shit weapon and I managed to top the leaderboards in 6v6 with it. People stopped messaging me about weapons after that because it wouldn't confirm their confirmation bias of weapons not being the sole reason for a kill. I still see this same mentality everyday in the forums, I give up trying to help people now, I just laugh at them while they argue back. But I completely agree that these weapons are overlooked, some of them have more detail than exotics.
