I've found a 100% foolproof way of obtaining The Last Word
It will take 279 Strange Coins and 9 legacy primary engrams
Because you see, there are 9 possible weapons you can get from the legacy engram. As someone who didn't have the Year 1 weapons, every time I used a legacy engram I received something I didn't have before.
My first legacy engram gave Thorn. Then MIDA, etc. Coming into today, there were only two Y1 primaries I had not received: Hard Light and TLW. I buy two legacy engrams and sure enough I get Hard Light and...
The Last Word!
Thus, it takes a max of 279 coins to get it. It can be done, Guardians!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have several thousand people that I need to kill with this gun. 😄

Curious I joined them and low and behold engrams started to pile up. I continued to grind this spot for hours collecting blues and the rare purples. Next thing i know its 3am and it's time to visit the cryptarch! As my engrams are popping up random weapons. I decrypt a blue and BAM, The last word! Little did I know at the time that this little beast would be later be known as one the banes of crucible.

14 RespuestasMy first time getting thorn was through the quest. My first time getting tlw was from my third lighthouse visit in year one. Gally from a nf. I really feel bad for year 2 players. Year one the entire excitement was discovery and exotic quest grinding. A lost concept it seems. Exotics once felt exotic.

1 RespuestaYou got lucky. My friend came into Y2 needing only one Y1 weapon: The Fourth Horseman. Several times he bought legacy engrams hoping to get it, but always received something he'd already found. Eventually he gave up. You could spend a thousand coins and not complete your collection, or you could get what you need on the first engram. It's all just the whim of the RNG.

First two legacy engrams I got gave me Thorn and TLW. Dropped an exotic engrams from something maybe crucible not too sure, cracked it open n got another TLW, straight after getting one from the legacy. Still can't use it for shit in pvp.
