For Those Who Have Yet to Complete a Raid

Seeing as a bunch of new players are and will be joining Destiny in the near future, I decided to try and help them out. I've been playing Destiny since December 2015 and mid-April was ready to quit because I was tired of running strikes and Crucible. I wanted something new. I wanted to do a raid. I did what my Year 1 friend told me and went online and looked for groups to run Vault of Glass and Crota's End with me. At the end of June (2 months after beginning this search), I made a forum complaining about people running raids expecting perfection and refusing newer players. The day after, I joined a different friend, xXvallentXx, and his friend in Challenge of Elders. When I joined them, xXvallentXx had seen I was running Crota without a fireteam and had exited to help him, so he asked if I had finally finished a raid. Upon telling him I was at Crota but unable to beat him, he said he would help me with it. A few weeks prior he and I had started Vault of Glass, but due to differing schedules at the time, we were unable to get past the Templar. He and I were waiting for some of his friends to run Crota when he commented on our run, and we decided to do Vault of Glass. That night I completed my first raid. It took 3.5 hours, but in the end I was overjoyed and wished to continue raiding as long as it was enjoyable. At 11pm we went to finish Crota, which we finished in 30 minutes. At this point I had completed two raids in a total of 4 hours. But we weren't done there. At this point we decided to make a clan, Awesome Raid Group Heroes [ARGH] (named because xXvallentXx made a joke and the tag was a sound we all made quite often). At this point, 11:30pm, we decide to start King's Fall. Throughout the week we played King's Fall for 19 hours trying to reach and beat Oryx. By the time of the reset we still hadn't beat Oryx, but the thing is, we all became friends and are still planning on running King's Fall again. To some, this may seem easy. To others it will inspire. I just want to encourage those who are new to Destiny not to give up on your goals or dreams. The way to get things done is to make good friends and to not give up. And for those of you who have completed raids before, please, I beg of you, to be good people, be patient, kind, and forgiving and to help these new players become better players and for them to develop the knowledge of the raids you have. Also, this is more for me than anyone else, but xXvallentXx, you are my hero, my friend, and I hope to one day be as good a person as you are. I love you, man.
