And yes, if you make the switch now, your character will progress to Xbox One, but you'll still need a license to play on the Xbox One.

On [b]August 16th, 2016[/b] any progress made on a "Legacy Console" will not switch over to the current generation family. After that date, when you turn on your Xbox One, any progress made on your 360 will STAY BEHIND on your 360 and your Xbox One character will pick up the progress you left on August 16th. E.g. If you get a Hard Light on August 15th on 360. Then on August 17th on 360 you get an ice breaker. When you get on the Xbox One, you'll have the Hard Light but not the ice breaker or any progress you made AFTER the 16th.
