Sniping does take skill
I see a bunch of people saying that snipers take no skill and need a nerf. That is wrong because I just got a Y-O9 Longbow synthesis which I thought would make me get lots of sniper kills. But instead I keep getting wrecked while trying to use it. Snipers take skill and are not op. So stop whining you nerf herders

I'm just glad the COD style of quickscoping is not a thing in this game. I absolutely hated that and it's probably the reason I stopped playing. Now THAT was incredibly annoying

When you constantly get your head blown when trying to look through a door and fight with your primary weapon(not a sniper Lane), the shit is annoying. Instead of thinking critically, people just jump to bullshit like it takes no skill. However, there is no argument that it takes less skill to snipe in year two versus year one more primaries could actually fight back.

3 RespuestasIf you play with a low aim assist sniper, like efrideet's spear and switch to long bow or 1kys you'll see. The aim assist is much too high on some snipers, switching from my spear to my long bow with tacsys/hidden hand is like auto aim. It's no where near as rewarding to get headshot kills with.

lets say every weapon type has a gauge from 1 to 10. If I get my pulse rifle to skill level 10, no matter how good i am with it a sniper anywhere from 7 on up will outperform me every single time. I can get body shotted then finished off with a single shot from tlw. trials gets more sniper kills than any other secondary and even some primaries. they need adjusting.

47 RespuestasAgreed, snipers are fine. There's a counter, it's called staying out of lanes. Scout rifles are a great counter as well. I could say the same thing about fusion rifles or shotguns. In their respective ranges there isn't an 'easy' counter. I have to move and juke and set myself up to counter those guns when they're in range. You adjust to the game, not the other way around. To me, nothing seems OP right now. There's a few guns that could use a buff, otherwise seems pretty balanced. Shotguns are far more used in the Crucible than any other special weapon, look up the overall stats.

Of course they take skill. Anyone who says otherwise is just butthurt because they get killed by them. Same goes for anything that people say is OP. As a matter of fact anyone who says "OP" , "crutch", "no skill" or thinks aim assist is an aimbot are usually butthurt children or complete imbeciles.

During banner I got a Waylon's March used it on the next map which was bannerfall an killed six people with it never held a sniper in pvp because either the bullshit three people I shot them in the shoulder an it came up headshot an shit the other three after they jumper threw the door an they were headshots so snipers take no skill if someone like me get six kills an never used a sniper in pvp until that point. So shut it they take zero skill the into reason you defend them is because you use them. I will defend them cause I blink the reason they haven't got nerfed is because of the bleeding effect on the game because bungie refuse to seperate pvp an pve. Meaning that if snipers caught a nerf in pvp it would bleed into pve an make snipers useless in pve. But still get over it they need a nerf right after bungie separates pvp an pve.

1 RespuestaI agree. Especially the quick scope up close kills. I cannot for the life of me get my scope on the persons head that quickly. The only sniper rifle I've used in the Crucible that really felt like it improved my meager sniping abilities was the Black Spindle.

While not releasing ADS, change to your sniper. When your scope comes up it is on target, providing your target didn't move and just pull the trigger. Even faster as a Bladedancer with ready weapons quickly perk. There is nothing to it really, it's not quick scoping but you don't want to sit there with a lens flare for long, 1-2 seconds or you will become a target. I'm horrible with a sniper and can 5-6 kills a game when doing bounties, it just takes practice.
