Rant time.
I'll admit the weapons probably were, but I think that's about it.
I think there is a social dismorphia and an arogance about someone who thinks something that was clearly not as good as it is now, be better.
People who say year one was better are probably saying so because they want to feel like they were part of it more from the beginning. To feel a bit more special about themselves.
I would argue these are probably early to mid teens who feel they are "cooler" because they preferred an inferior game.
I'm sorry, but the game is just better now than its ever been. More to see, more to do, more to play, more to collect, plays better, sounds better, better upgrade system, better RNG, more chances at RNG, more balanced (but still unbalanced) pvp.
Every single game review agency worth their salt hailed taken kings release and were Destiny like that from launch you'd be looking at one of the best releases in modern times rather than a solid 6/10 game that's blossomed into a solid 9/10.
You want destiny to return to year one?! Why on earth would you want a worse game? Imagine if you got your way and all that is in there now was removed.
Take your heads out of your arses and smell the napalm.
No TLDR. Read the post lazy.

What is the name for someone who thinks that another persons OPINION is "Stupid"? Have a nice day.
-
Well not stupid, opinionated though. We are entitled to one.
-
Year 1 had more of a challenge, really. Not much of a story, but it still had its qualities. Yeah, year 2 is an improvement, but there is still a lot that it could learn from year 1.
-
This is how I see year 1 versus year 2. Destiny year 1 = A hard Raid --> BETTER Destiny Year 2 = A normal Raid --> Puss Mode
-
Well, at least the cat gods area still around… somewhere……

Editado por Nitey9: 8/1/2016 5:06:18 AMI miss Nightfall rewards being rewarding. I miss elemental primaries. I miss when the raids used to grant guns that had a use beyond just that raid (Vex Mythoclast, Fatebringer). In year one we had so much content to look forward to. Every month felt like the dawn of something entirely new. I miss Icebreaker. I miss the blue flame and extra EXP. Bungie Updates used to be good! Xur was better and made Friday something to look forward to. More people used to play this game in Y1, I miss a lot of them. The forums were more active. I liked seeing a constant feed of new threads, not the same ones floating around for days. I miss Dinklebot! I miss the mysterious 6th chest. Vault of Glass will always be the best raid and Y2 rendered it useless. I'm not arguing that one year is better than the other but there's a lot that was left behind that can't be forgotten.
-
Year one player here, while year one was fun, I do prefer the current version, yes the guns were better and nothing will ever be better than VOG, but still, there's much more to do now, you'd all hate going back because you'd have nothing to chase after

Editado por Lord Imperius: 8/1/2016 3:55:01 AMYear 1 player here, and I have to say, Year 1 was better in most aspects. Two new raids, elemental primaries, epic Jellyhorn drop reactions, taking elemental primaries into modifier Nightfalls, harder nightfalls, more armour, more weapons, Thorn in PVE, TLW in PVE, having a blast with your buddies in the activites. Year 2 is better though, in terms of the UI and character progression. I find that Year 1 was filled with butthurt in terms of Crucible, but in PVE, Year 1 was probably the best in terms of consistent content drops. I feel that Y2 has a lot more dry patches. It seems that Y2 is a bit more serious, and is slightly less fun (Primarily because of us players changing and getting used to the game mechanics and everything becoming the normal, and more stale with each passing month). Year 1 players will look back on Year 1 and say "Wow, that was awesome", whereas Y2 players won't know of the fun to be had in the prior year. Truly, Y1 players grew more as the struggle was truly real. Plus, you'd be looked at as the best player in the tower and a God when you had that blue flame on your head, which signified that you'd completed the Nightfall.

Editado por Daemon Jaeger13: 8/1/2016 4:04:12 AMYear one had exotic weapons that were truely exotic, year two they are not much more than glorified legendaries...your argument is invalid.
-
I could write a novel on all the reasons that you are wrong. But I won't. I'll just say that y2 does have its glitz and glamour. However, only 1 raid. 1 raid and that's it. Y1 had VOG, crotas end, and poe. And y2 exotics compared to y1 not even close. Y2 exotics are but a handful compared to y1. Plus most of y2 exotics are y1 exotics brought back anyway. And the icing on the cake is...nerfs. more nerfs in y2 than in y1. So many nerf criers in y2 it's stupid. Try again.
-
more to do the hell are you talking about half the content is prsctically unplayable at this point
-
I'm not to sure what content you are talking about but as far as year 2 v year 1 year 2 has less content by far, but it seems you are talking about year 2 as a the whole game in general and if that's the case your point is pointless
-
Year 1 had more content, taken king had a better story but that lasted 2 play through before it became a endless grind that couldn't find itself until after April
-
1 RespuestaEditado por XMalakhX: 8/1/2016 3:37:09 AMYear 1 was better.... How can you say vanilla, house of wolves, and the dark below all together are not better than the taken king. The taken king took a lot away. And they took it away without us even wanting it. They took away exotic bounties. They made nightfall useless. They destroyed so many guns and eliminated perks all together. They took away icebreaker, thorn, Gjallarhorn, pocket Infinity, Vex mythoclast, necrochasm. Year 2, while at initial launch seemed better, it was not. I played through all of year 1. I played maybe a month or two of TTK and stopped playing for the next 6 months. A lot of people did. For as great as it was....as you say. The taken king saw more players leave over any time in year 1.

1 RespuestaHi. Beta player here. I loved year one. But ANYONE who says year one was better is wrong. The game has been evolving for awhile now and it's current state is so amazing. There may be a few arguments that the feeling of "earning exotics" was broken by three of coins, but I'm here to tell you that I didn't get a gjallerhorn until almost 2000 hours played and then I got three in the span of two weeks. And the night dark below dropped I got a dragons breath from my first crucible match like nothing. It wasn't a good system before. Too much was left to chance. This game is great. Always has been. The weapon balance and class balance is pretty amazing now too! Byyyeeeeee!
-
Yeah two raids and prison of elders and best weapons ever. It sucked for sure LOL. Man you so have no ground to stand on with your post but thanks for playing.
-
1 RespuestaYes let's make Y1 content pointless so no one will do them you know the goof raids like VOG instead of the boring KF
-
Year 1 was better. Ignoring weapon and class balancing, Destiny was more fun in year 1. There was more PvE content. Year 1 had 2 raids up to date and a PoE mode that was much better than the one Year 2 has. The upgrading system was not better, but the light system was. Light should stay on armor and just armor. Year 2 raid drops are worse, much worse. Nightfall actually meant something. 3 of coins is basically what makes Xur still useful. He was way better in year 1. Many of the exotic gear that he sells can already be found in the exotic kiosk. Only new players benefit from Xur. Everybody should benefit from Xur. Year 3 has to come up with some change regarding Xur. 3 of coins and exotic quests are not a bad idea, but they make activities like Nightfalls useless. These activities should have their own gear dropped, like, for example, a Nightfall chest. People did NFs in year 1 for exotic gear, but now all you need to do is use 3oC in the crucible or in the raid. There is no real reason to do NFs other than fun (are they really fun?). When HoW was released, I did both raids, PoE and NF with all 3 characters every week until just a couple weeks before TTK. In year 2 it was just one raid, and it's been, like, 2 months since I played KF, and I think the last time I did it with all 3 characters in a week was way back in April.
-
And here we see a year 2 12 year old tryhard (who wouldn't understand the crucible in year 1 because he makes it sweaty) in his natural habitat. Take a close look at the wild animal, it is rare to see them complain about something they didn't experience
-
5 RespuestasWeapons were better in year 1. Crucible was more fun in year 1. The weapons we grinded for felt worth it once we got them. VoG was by leaps and bounds the best raid. Not even close. Seriously, not even a little close. Nightfalls were worth doing. Reset day actually was exciting and solar wind could knock teamates off ledges in year 1 which is still to this day the most idiotic and pointless nerf in Destiny history. Year 2 has the dreadnaught though... Hmmmmm...tough choice.

Pvp was much more engaging and fast paced. Primaries were powerful as they should have been. They only needed to buff others to match hand cannons, not nerf them. 2 raids to choose from, vog was always fun. Gave special exotic too Nightfall didn't reward you 290 ghosts n shit rep but almost always an exotic

7 RespuestasEditado por Elitespear: 7/31/2016 10:03:00 PMMore to see: The dreadnaught: a breathtaking myriad of dull brown, greens and yellows. More to do: 1 raid Court of oryx (that thing nobody plays) Challenge of elders? Weapons, perks, ammo count all worse than before. Rng better? Arguable, there's more crap weapons and if you didn't buy 3 of coins then you won't get exotics. Better upgrade system? Etheric light worked fine for me. More passive pvp. Oh, they added rift. Great, it's awful. Oh let's not forget they introduced a terrible skill based matchmaking system without telling anyone, denied it was introduced, then admitted it and still have been completely unable to deliver an effective matchmaking system since. Of course, game agencies rated it well. That means I should enjoy it more now right? I dont.

1 RespuestaIt's not the game itself that players miss. It's the nostalgia of exploring the game as it unfolds. Everything was new and exciting then. Now it's become dull and tedious with only the dlc to keep the flame burning. But it's not enough. You can only play the dlc so much before it gets bland and repetitive
-
The only thing year 1 has over year 2 is a flaming blue skull.
man I miss that :(
-
The amount of things that are broken now or need fixes and such is why people say that and the content drought is another reason
