Just to understand this correctly.
1. You "know" that a player reported him whilst he was in the tower? If so, how?
2. If the player was "reported" then the report did not get him banned. His Gamertag got him banned.
3. He is responsible for the gamertag. No one else. If the gamertag was offensive / if the gamertag included an offensive word or phrase then he is the one that included it in his gamertag.
4. If it took 6 years for him to be banned then your issue should be with playstation not a player in Destiny.

It's not up to you or them. Rules is rules and they were violated. Doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks of the person that reported it.

2. Report did get me banned because the gamer tag quote from sony ( cause it was sony who banned my profile ) as offensive and after they did a swift investigation (which there was a clean record in the 6 years of having the tag) and it was conclusive that my tag was not suitable

Well you agree to the TOS which outline what gamertags cannot be without specifically listing words so you should be well aware when making one that if its ignorant or containing of profane language you could one day be banned for it. Not really anyones problem but your own and you caused it yourself. Sucks when logic gets in the way of fantasy right?

The "effect" of you using a gamertag deemed to be inapparopriate and / or offensive is for the gamertag to be banned. A report does not and never will get you banned. A report may trigger an investigation. The inappropriate gamertag gets you banned. Have a nice day.

I have read several of your responses. So far as I can tell. 1. Sony did not advise you that they received a report yesterday from a destiny player. You are assuming it was. 2. You only went to the tower so assume it was someone in the tower that reported you. Can you not think of any other way your gamertag could have been noticed by someone??? 3. This is the first time you have stated that Sony advised you "well i got reported". So are you definite that Sony advised you that a player of Destiny reported you whilst you were in the tower? You are still making an assumption as to whom and when. Fortunately none of that really matters. The important thing is that you took ownership of your mistake and hopefully, for your sake, won't make it again. Have a nice day.

You are correct on the matter of not making that mistake again. But i assure you that the only social space (could bare to play after just getting off work) was the tower. No crucible. No strikes. No patrol. No reef. Everyone on my friends list ive had for 2 years+ and played with everyone of them.

Okay I'll throw some options at you. Have you ever played with or against anyone in pvp other than your friends? Ever been in a 3 person strike or other activity with players other than friends? Ever been in a 6 person activity with players other than friends? Simply have friends who play Destiny? If any of these is true then it is possible for a player to check you or even your friends "recent games", notice your gamertag and make a report. Do I "think" that the tower is the most likely option. Yes. Do I or you "know" that it was someone in the tower? No. Have a nice day.

Yes actually. Its outlined in a document called terms of service which must be agreed to when creating a gamertag..so yeah agreeing to and violating then getting upset when yall get caught violating and recieve the punishment outlined is pretty dumb.
