[BUNGIE] UPDATE: Patch 2.3.1 Known Issues: BEAVER Errors and Nightfall Strike Specific Drops

BEAVER ERRORS UPDATE 7/29: Hot fix 2.3.1.1 has gone live on all platforms to reduce the BEAVER errors introduced in the 2.3.1 Patch. Hot Fix Notes: https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/45015 Destiny Patch Notes and Status: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/13562 Strike Specific Rewards: Nightfall Issue Destiny Player Support is aware of reports that players are not receiving strike specific loot upon defeating the final boss of this week’s Nightfall Strike. Nightfall Post Game Carnage Report Rewards are NOT impacted by this issue, nor is the Vanguard Heroic Strike Playlist. We have forwarded reports to the appropriate party for investigation, and will provide updates when available. Joining Fireteams in local networks This issue is now being tracking in a separate thread: Marionberry, Canary, and Local Fireteam Issues. If you are experiencing this issue, please reply to the linked thread to make a report.
Increase in BEAVER Error Codes We have recently identified an issue causing players to receive BEAVER error codes at an increased rate. This issue was introduced in Destiny Update 2.3.1, and is causing complications regarding NAT settings. • If a player has a Strict NAT, they may encounter BEAVER error codes when connecting to other players • If a player with Moderate NAT is matchmaking into an activity where another player has a Strict/Moderate NAT, this can result in BEAVER error codes. While we are continuing to investigate this issue, it can potentially be reduced by ensuring your personal NAT is Open. For information on how to troubleshoot your NAT settings, please see this section of our Network Troubleshooting Guide: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13612 We greatly apologize for the inconvenience. We will update this thread when more information is available.
I've been a Network Engineer for quite a while. In my industry when it's 1-2 people affected, it's not you it's them. When thousands of people are affected.... it's probably you. I haven't tried to play since the update, been too busy with Battleborn/ESO etc. I'll tell you this... If my product was going to end up in the hands of 20 million plus users, you can bet your silly asses that the very last thing I would cheap out on is infrastructure. Yes yes, I know, and have had this argument with several "Know it all" executives. Cables, switches, 20gig port-channels, powerful datacenter infrastructure, dedicated servers. They aren't sexy, people don't see that shit. No one cares. blah blah blah. It expensive, i get it, P2P is a viable option. etc. I've even played some Free-2-Play games recently (Blacklight Retribution, Hawken, Planetside 2) that doesn't appear to have the amount of issues this game has. You know what's interesting about them? They can even push a patch without causing the ol' PS4 19.542gig download BS. I don't know what the hell is going on over there, but it's probably not us, it's you. I actually understand how the internet works *points to wall covered in High Level Certifications*. Yet, this is the ONLY game i experience these silly issues with. I can't just leave shit broken, you shouldn't be able to either. Walk down the street to Blizzard. Call Square-Enix. Email Gearbox. Talk to DICE. How do they do it? There are many examples of people that use dedicated servers and are profitable. You can be to.
I'd be happy to consult for you if needed. Your players would thank you. I can even teach you how to pitch extremely expensive equipment to shareholders.
EDIT: Just to be clear. I don't hate Bungie, or Destiny. I just know they can do better. You know what they say. Your real friends talk shit to your face, and say good things about you behind your back. Wrestle that budget money away from the dummies. Spend it where it's needed.
