So instead of praying for people, how about you try to do something about the situation at hand, instead of writhing in your own pool of self-righteousness.

3 RespuestasAnd yet again we have a post attacking Christianity exclusively (you wont dare touch Islam because of fear). I guess you also take offense to people who say things like "good luck" "I hope" or "wish you well." Wishes, hope, and luck are fairy tails and fantasy! Right? Op (throughout thread): "How dare they pray for me or anyone else when they may not in a position to do anything about the situation!!!"

2 RespuestasEvery time I see one of these posts an image of two teammates pops in my head:
"Hey, man, good luck out there." "F*** YOU! Luck ain't real and you wishing it to me won't do jack shit!"
Why does a certain method of expressing a desire for good will towards others seem to trigger so easily?
-
1 RespuestaThey do work! It helps the people who are praying feel better about themselves and think they did good!
-
It's all in good will. I could care less if it does or doesn't actually help, it's the thought that these Christians are praying for people in trouble. And praying is going to do the same as all of us sitting on these forums, talking about religion.

Stop sending thugs after my wallet and go be the change you want to see in the world. Creating a job will help more than taking my money will.

Action is faith Don't pray for God to do something, pray that God will give you the strength and give you a path to do something.

Read it as players don't do anything. We really don't

58 RespuestasHow about you go do something good instead of complaining to a bunch people who don't give a shit about you?

1 RespuestaI do have a form of praying even though I'm atheist. It's almost like talking to someone that isn't there about me. It helps me, mentally speaking. But in truth it doesn't help the other person so yes, people shouldn't pray for other people but instead do something about it. But pray if you want, as long as there is no proof your god ceases to exist then pray if you believe it helps.

*tips fedora* look at all these sheep! I'd rather keep my virginity if it meant interacting with them! You agree, right?

As a non religious person i find comfort in paying occasionally. It provides me temporary relief of my daily stress and makes me feel a little bit more confident. But on the more factual side people that pray are more grateful happy and respectful than people that dont. You dont have to pray or believe in God but you do have to respect those that do.
-
You assume that I actually have the ability to do anything. Let's say that someone in my family has cancer, do you expect me to go through years of medical school to try and find a cure for cancer? I can't, so I pray because maybe there's someone out there listening, MAYBE. I also can't do anything about this whole police problem in America because I'm a 16 year old Canadian, so I pray because even if Someone doesn't believe in god they should take into consideration they might be wrong.

4 RespuestasYou do not know what people on this forum do away from the screen. Perhaps they do help the people that they request prayers for. Then again, perhaps not. The point is, we don't know so why judge them without all the facts? Seems pre-mature.

1 RespuestaIt can heal hurt feelings but that's about it. I agree. Stop praying and get me to a -blam!-ing hospital!!!! Lol my cousin had a liver transplant a couple years back and when he woke up, the doctor(who is a family friend) told him he would be fine, he replied with "thank god" I said, "actually his name is not God, his name is Joseph and he's one room over dead as shit." Lol the doctor laughed and said "actually if you want to get technical, his name is Dr. Laughlin, without him, that liver would be nothing more than a nice gesture from a random stranger" It was the perfect time for laughter, given the dead guy next door, and the half alive guy in our room.
