Man I miss those days...I miss my life back then. It wasn't just about halo, but everything back then was entirely different. I remember one day my buddies were playing some halo back when I was the only one of us working. They hit me up a little before my shift started. I went into work and basically faked that I was sick. It was a retail job, nothing special, so it didn't even matter. I hardly called in sick, so they let me go without question really. I showed up with some chips and drinks at my buddies place. Yes. There were doritoes and mountain dew! The special halo 3 mountain dew cans too! We all had our xboxes at our friends house and played the shit out of halo. We all finally had a xbox at that point. Literally hours upon hours of fucking around. Today none of us hang out. Out of the 3 of us, I'm the only one with a wife and kid, yet I'm the only one who still games. When halo 5 was having the beta, I was psyched to try and get these guys back into halo. 1 of them became a freakin hermit convinced the world was ending and didn't use tv or anything other than a phone. Ironically. The other tried the beta and immediately gave up because he couldn't figure out how to jump onto higher positioning. He died over and over and did the final rage quit of his gaming career. That was the end of their service records. Today I party up with randoms and make random friends. Shit I shoulda done more often back in the day. They're almost always much younger than me, but most of them end up being pretty cool peeps. But yea...I'll be on halo 5 and see their GT....Haven't been online in years. It sucks. Especially because I have no common ground with anyone I meet at work. Telling them I still play video games is always a bad convo starter.
