Yeah I miss my old reach buddies but also on my friends list is only about 4 people I play with and I have like 167 followers

As an older gamer I can relate, but it's an unfortunate part of life. Most of my friends who used to game with me have jobs and children to contend with and no longer game. Those of us that were more passionate gamers still play, but not always together any more. But as their kids grow up and they eventually get more time I'm willing to bet they will come back, and then we can make some new gaming memories! My best friend who I haven't gamed with in 7 or 8 years just played some Halo 3 campaign with me a couple weeks ago.

1 RespuestaI used to feel that way. People consistently stopped getting online for years, but about two years ago, the people I used to play with all started slowly returning. Now I play Halo 5 with nearly the same group of people that I used to play Halo 3 with, mixed in with other people I've met while the other group stopped playing Xbox for a while.

1 RespuestaOh, damn. This made my heart sink. I've got half a friend list of people that haven't played for years. Hit way too close to home.

Myself, 3 buddies from school and about 4 other people we met online use to play a lot together. Surprisingly it was Destiny that made us all friends. Even though Destiny has a tremendous amount of problems, it always was fun playing with them. We got over Destiny and I barely keep contact with those 4 randoms. 2 of my buddies only play Dota 2 now and the other one plays that but also Overwatch. I also play Overwatch and that's the only time I actually play with one of those 3. We're still very good friends at school, but not great gaming friends per say. I also recently installed Starcraft II again and I looked at my friends list and saw all those randoms I use to play with...

I can relate Basically me and like 5 friends use to play minecraft, destiny, cod, halo and whatever was free with gold, it was great. However, 2 moved to PS, 1 to PC, one is still on 360 and the final is still with me on Xbox one.

I can't hear words "bad kid" without crying.
-
Unless I can sees the whites of their eyes, son, they ain't my friends
-
I didn't have gold when I played 3, but I definitely have old friends from Reach that I really do miss.

None of them play halo any more ;(

4 RespuestasTl:dr yea I miss those days too. No irl friends sucks. Getting older is a bitch My old best friends used to play halo almost everyday. Man I miss those days...I miss my life back then. It wasn't just about halo, but everything back then was entirely different. I remember one day my buddies were playing some halo back when I was the only one of us working. They hit me up a little before my shift started. I went into work and basically faked that I was sick. It was a retail job, nothing special, so it didn't even matter. I hardly called in sick, so they let me go without question really. I showed up with some chips and drinks at my buddies place. Yes. There were doritoes and mountain dew! The special halo 3 mountain dew cans too! We all had our xboxes at our friends house and played the shit out of halo. We all finally had a xbox at that point. Literally hours upon hours of fucking around. Today none of us hang out. Out of the 3 of us, I'm the only one with a wife and kid, yet I'm the only one who still games. When halo 5 was having the beta, I was psyched to try and get these guys back into halo. 1 of them became a freakin hermit convinced the world was ending and didn't use tv or anything other than a phone. Ironically. The other tried the beta and immediately gave up because he couldn't figure out how to jump onto higher positioning. He died over and over and did the final rage quit of his gaming career. That was the end of their service records. Today I party up with randoms and make random friends. Shit I shoulda done more often back in the day. They're almost always much younger than me, but most of them end up being pretty cool peeps. But yea...I'll be on halo 5 and see their GT....Haven't been online in years. It sucks. Especially because I have no common ground with anyone I meet at work. Telling them I still play video games is always a bad convo starter.

I would just like to say that this thread has made me appreciate my friends all the more so. After reading this and some of the stuff here I sent this to my friends:
So I as reading this post on Bungie.net. This guy was talking about how none of his friends play halo with him any more and how they aren't really that great of friends anymore. The whole thread was filled with stories of people who's old friendships had faded. And it makes me really appreciate my friendship with you, Friend 2, and Friend 3. I just wanted to say I'm glad your in my fireteam, my brother in arms. Seeing you charge into the fray alongside me fills me with incomprehensible happiness and excitement. I've removed there names for privacy sake.
I have a few old friends like that. It's sad, so many memories were made with Halo 3.

1 RespuestaGood bye splitscreening
-
The feels. I used to have a bunch of friends that I'd play with not just on Halo, but on almost every game I had. Out of all of them, half moved to PS4, some of them haven't upgraded to current gen yet, and those that do have current gen barely play. Everyone's moved on and I'm sitting here in a lobby with other random players that probably are going through the same depressing stage.

1 RespuestaH3 was one of the first multiplayers I experienced when I first bought xbl. All that time and effort playing so much of campaign helped me out with playing MP. Still remember rocking the CQB Armour like a scrub that day too. Ah, the memories
-
I miss halo 3, and reach too, but more because I used to play with my friends a lot more on reach. They are probably the last games I actually really wanted to play and be good at, now I just don't give a shit, people seem to just play to be try hands in the FPS's that I have now. It's sad
-
My whole friends list is just full of old profiles, that have been inactive for atleast 1+ years. I wonder sometimes what ever happened, did they lost their interest in gaming, or something else happen. It makes me sad everytime I look.

30% of my friends played custom games in Halo 3 with me and never returned later on... *Cues Unforgotten/Never Forget theme*
-
I rennet coming home from school each night, and playing custom games on reach
-
I've only been on the Halo train since Reach, so I can't relate.
