It's kinda silly to expect a rep boost from level 3 areas when you're a lvl 40 armed with the equivalent of a couple of tactical nukes...

Back when i had a 280 maxed out "Truth" it took 14 rounds to put down a taken boss on patrol. The Same is true with a maxed out 318 "Truth". However it takes about 10 Gjallarhorn (year1) rounds to put down a Taken Boss. So your light level counts for nothing on patrol

Ok. Kinda like in VoG. The new light coding matters diddly in old Y1 areas, to the point that even some ads (for example, the oracles) shrug off the damage from your 335 weapons yet are very susceptible to the damage inflicted by the old raid weapons.

As opposed to blowing through 12 Heroic Strikes with Arc Burn and Small Arms with a Supercell and destroying every enemy in a matter of seconds? It really doesn't matter what level they are anymore.

Well, not all heroic strikes have arc burn every week... :p But fair enough, point taken.

I like killing one extremely low level enemy with the Sleeper Simulant or a rocket. Sometimes I use a super for one level 2 shank. Why? Because he was there. I felt like my virtual life was in danger do I used the amount of force I felt necessary. Now where's my exotic engram?

I think patrol should scale to the guardians level tbh.

Patrol DOES scale to guardians to an extent. Enemies are never lower than say 10 light levels in light performance level. This is why you can't one shot everything that moves with your primary (NLB notwithstanding). This is also why a level 2 dreg can still destroy you instead of just bouncing bullets off your face.

i believe it scales within 40 light, like when datto and a bunch of youtubers got a sneak peak for court of oryx before ttk came out and they couldnt damage the enemies in the level 2 runes unless they were light level 200

That'd be difficult if not completely impossible. Patrol areas are public areas in the game world where you can find guardians at different levels. The ads spawning there cannot be set at different levels.
