Listen to top players

After browsing the forums and doing some reading, I've lost hope in the community. There are so many threads talking about nerfs. The majority of the time too it's people who have little time in crucible or are just terrible in crucible. This game no longer needs nerfs, it needs buffs. Things that need buffs are primaries across the board, blade dancers, sunsingers, and gunslingers. After doing a lot of talking with other top players (people who do sweats and are known in pvp community) in the world, the majority will agree with these buffs. Also, top players don't want nerfs as they've seen what nerfing has done to the game. I know I'm not the only one who wishes we could turn the clock back to year 1 when the skill gap was a lot more evident. The changes this game has suffered has lead to a meta of class abilities and special weapons, with the occasional primary. I think it's time bungie started listening to top players for what needs balancing and here's why (not just any top players, players who've won tournaments and compete in sweats). The reason why bungie should listen to top players is because they truly know what is balanced or not. Top players know the ins and outs of classes better than any casual can because they compete against other top players. When ur facing other top players, u get a better feel for what's balanced or not. Also, top players are less likely to be selfish because they want crucible to be competitive, balanced, and more about skill. I know the majority of the community are casuals and may take offense to this but I feel that this post is necessary because I still believe this game can be competitive. With the rise of iron coming out soon, it will either kill destiny or bring back a lot of players. If anything gets nerfed, I can guarantee you that alot of players especially top pvpers will stop playing this game. Please bungie, stop using graphs for balancing and actually do some In game testing. Also, talk to players who know what they r doing when balancing. I know bungie is trying to cater to casuals but that isn't working as it shows with the way things have gone. Anyways, this might get some hate from some players but before you comment, please explain why u feel different. As a top player who cares for the game, I jus want to see this game go in the right direction. I along with many others, jus don't see that happening with current method.

  • LOL. I didn't read your book. But I recognize your profile name. You called me casual, but I have more Lighthouse trips than you. You may be good situationally, and know when and when not to do things in PvP more times than the average Destiny player, as most try-hard pvp players do. You also may be a good sniper and know how to abuse the exploit to get a fast headshot. You may only roll with good players. I also know that you're not good enough to do double carries. But here's the thing, majority of Destiny's player base and community are not "top" players. "Top" players as you say, will always adapt and be fine no matter what. So the average Destiny player, like myself, are the players who are always going to be listened & catered to before "top" players. Toot your horn on reddit. No one gives a f***. My boy who has just under an 1800 elo, just destroyed, and I do mean 5-0, the number two player in the world in trials on x1. Just remember, this casual has over a hundred raid completions across all three raids, Max grimoire, and more Lighthouse trips than you. I wouldn't consider you a "top" player

    • Thank you to everyone who proved my point, this recieved alot of hate from people who r subpar in crucible. There were maybe 2 decent arguments I had but everyone else got offended. Bungie will continue to listen to the players who have no clue what they r talking about and this will continue to go downhill pvp wise. I know the large part of the community are casuals but if u r player who puts time into the game, u r getting screwed. Feel free to msg me on xbox my gt is i patch i.

      • No, tip players should not decided the fate of the game. Top players are a small % of the Destiny player base. Bungie devs should keep doing their work and tweaking to the best of their knowledge. Top tier will always try to sway the game to their advantage. Most of that top 1% got Thorn destroyed, special ammo reduced in the whole game and got Hand Cannons nerfed so bad that they barely compete in PvP anymore. Bungie should listen to all players at the end of the day is casuals pay their salaries not top players.

        • Let's not even bring up that these same top players maybe streaming and receiving some sort of monetary reward which the "casual player" isn't receiving even though the "casual player" probably paid full price for a game designed by a company that doesn't care about how they feel.

Listening to top players isn't going to give you any conclusive direction. Your simply spouting your opinions and trying to justify and reinforce them by saying it's shared among "top players." --------Also for the fact that you bring up buffs and nerfs as if it's that cut and dry makes anything you say hard to take seriously. As anyone who makes things so simple is not taking the subject it deals with seriously. In this case the health of the game. So a message to all of you, try understanding the concerns of others and try to solve them while keeping the things you like. In other words let us have a discussion, that's the only way this game is gonna get better. Crying buff or nerf isn't solving anything and hasn't for the entire lifespan of the game thus far.

        • Wow. The same dude from this thread who was claiming to me that he's not elitist. This is even more elitist than your last post you tool. The only thing "top" players want is to stay on top. They will cry for the meta's not to be balanced because they're loose their edge. Whether they're dong it right or wrong currently the game needs to be balanced for everyone. If there top players are so good they will adapt. Get a life and stop putting other people down because they don't have 50 hours a week to play. You are the worst kind of person for these forums.

            • You're right... it's offensive. Your passage:
Also, top players are less likely to be selfish because they want crucible to be competitive, balanced, and more about skill.
made me blow Diet Coke through my nose. I cannot imagine a more biased and selfish group of players. Because of your hubris, you are missing the obvious; people, all people, are biased. In competitive activities, those biases tend to allow us to rationalize changes to rules and regulations that benefit ourselves. You see, we're just selfish enough to massage things in such a way we gain an advantage. Take top-tier weapons. I'd be willing to bet money you think there are guns that should only be gotten through the most stringent of activities, taken as an example, Doctrine of Passing. For a period of time that gun ran rampant through the Crucible, and many elite players thought that was cool because they "earned" it. So now... what? The very best players have the very best guns. The advantage widens. Tell me... how is the neophyte player supposed to learn anything when instantly melted by fire teams of Trials players who by the way cried to eliminate SBMM because they were facing "too many sweaties"? Now I know you're advocating buffs, and I at least applaud you for that. I absolutely detest elitism in any form, and in this case, is very much erroneously being used as a way to justify inserting your own particular bias.

              • If top players will be in charge of buffs / nerfs or map design.. all other players are screwed. Look at cod.. they had competative players in charge of map design.. and what do we get.. headglitch spots all over the map... yeeeeeeeey so much fun..... and every cod has 1 or 2 weapons the pro players use.. yeeeeey more fun.. sweat fest with 2 guns yeeeeeeeeeey... Top players should never be in charge of buffs/ nerfs or map design.. Simple solution for destiny crucible.... primary only mode.. all the people whining about shotguns/ snipers.. will be satisfied.. but no.. all the streamers use snipers so bungie will never touch them... and i aint saying they need to be buffed / nerfed.. .. i dont care .. i just want primary only mode.. cause thats way more fun.. ;)

Lbs TTplayers(TM) don't want stuff balanced, they don't even want even the slightest of equality because that would mean... Yeah we know. Not even in pve do they want players to have the same weapons or amor as them, so why would you want them in charge of any -blam!-ing thing? -blam!- that, game is bad as is especially for a solo player like me.

                    • How can "top tier" players know WTF is balanced when all they use is a sniper rifle? Elitests... -blam!- off. You don't care what's best for the game, you just care what's best for yourself, same as everyone else. LOL @ your view that top tier players just want competitiveness and balance. No they don't. They just want to win.

I got a idea, can we put destiny pvp on a separate disc and pve on the the other? Then all you top players can have your way with all the weapons and subclasses so that way pve won't get mixed up with unreasonable balances and nerfs. All I see on these pages are pvp this, pvp that. Then shit becomes ruined and other players who prefer pve pay the price. Asking for balances from what, maybe 1% of you top players will most likely -blam!- up every damn gun or subclass even more and then everyone loses.

                        • OP got butthurt when I showed him the stats for the subclasses that he claimed were "dominating." He may be a "top tier player," but he is also an egotistical player. All he cares about is his own little ideas despite the facts that contradict them. I don't care how "top tier" you are, you're full of bs and you genuinely don't know what you're talking about. There is no world where 1% is equal to 100%.

It doesn't really matter cos in the end, Bungie look at their spreadsheet and do whatever they want. No one talked about throwing knife (at least that I know of) and it got nerfed. I didn't even know the trip mine was a pain in the ass until they talked about it after they nerfed it. So yeah anything to artificially create more gaming time. Meanwhile we can argue all day but the Dev team will do as they please. And they will always use the nerf herders as an excuse to change things. Now if there were no more nerf cries, they will still nerf things but come up with a different excuse.
