The media needs to pay for the damage it has done to society for the sake of profit.
Only showing one side of a story, never telling the full truth, promoting harmful behavior. All of this with complete disregard to the consequences and just for ridiculous sums of money.
Changing the media is the first step to making the world a better place.

3 RespuestasI hope Gen X and the Baby Boomer generation decide to help you. They probably won't. My generation is like 50/50.

American idiot seems like an appropriate song...
-
Bump big time!
-
By "media," do you mean The Ministry of Misinformation?
-
I'm curious how people would react during a terrorist attack or something like that if all media forms were taken away
-
3 RespuestasThe problem is that your idea, if implemented would violate the 1st Amendment..

2 RespuestasEditado por Luxfore: 7/20/2016 4:41:31 AMUm... How about we fix the stupidity issue first. You know the one where people are content with one side of the story, or listen to the news and think that the channel they watch is the only one telling the truth. Changing the media won't help if people are too stupid to realize what's wrong in the first place.
I always liked this picture. Makes people think twice about what they trust from the media.
1 RespuestaAs others have said. You gotta hit them where it hurts, the wallet.
-
1 RespuestaWant them to "pay"? Stop watching it. The news is just like your favorite sitcom. They get paid through ad revenue and viewership numbers. If the numbers go away.. so do the news outlets. Just that simple.
-
1 RespuestaSociety was the one that took action. People look for what they want to see.

20 RespuestasMmmmk Actually it's on the consumer to seek out various avenues to get information on events. If you just sit and watch Fox News all day then yeah You're gonna get biased real fast. But there are so many media outlets and platforms both left and right wing with everything in between That's there is no excuse for people to blame one media center in particular. Yeah it means the consumer has to do more work and actually mentally process and think about what's being reported. But that's the point of the news, it's not meant for people to sit and eat whatever bullshit is in tv; it's meant to be thought about, and further researched

Editado por elemenopee: 7/20/2016 2:44:13 PMWell there are some news orgs that DO show a more whole picture of the world and do some real investigating into the truth and not just allow people to repeat talking points over and over... Problem is, the mainstream american media doesn't do that and only cares about "controversy" and "gaffes" rather than how hard is this person trying to screw you Try Al Jazeera America. Try BBC World Service.

I agree

Put down the pitch fork
-
This is ironic? Right?
-
That's the kind of media America wants obviously. 😝🖕

7 RespuestasDon't blame the media, blame the ones who manipulate it, the government.
-
1 RespuestaYep, I believe we gotta break up these big media institutions, just like Teddy Roosevelt did with his trust busting.

Editado por ThaWuTangMaster: 7/18/2016 12:52:36 PMWell you are what you report. And people are people, so it's only fair the news will be about these people. If you want them to stop reporting about Kanye West, why don't you and your pals do something greater than Kanye West? He paid his dues before blowing up...into the asshole that he is. You want music to not sound the same and "totally suck"? Why not make better music? Oh wait, you probably can't, or else you would be doing it now. You want unbiased reporting like the "good old days"? Well here's a fact for you, almost never has any news source been unbiased in its reporting of a historical event. Everyone has had a stake in manipulating news since news became a practice from theory. The rare people able to put together the most objective reports are the ones reporting on shit that doesn't matter. Media has always been about profit or manipulation. That's why newspapers were never free, along with books, video games, magazines and whatever else you want to categorize as media. And if you want it to not push any certain beliefs, doesn't that mean you're just so insecure about your beliefs that you can't look at reports and not become [enter thing here]? I can read the NYT and not become a Democrat, same with Fox and Republicanism. Just get over yourselves. "Media" has done nothing wrong, because it's an inanimate object, or broad group of things really. Now the individual reporting on whatever may be shoddy, or some group may interpret something in a way that does not suit your particular beliefs, but does that mean shut it down? That sounds like some controlling the populous shit that a lot of people with that theory complain about in the first place. It's something that's evolved with the times. It's become popular now to hate on the media, bunch of fuсking hipsters you lot are huh? Just be happy they aren't the North Korea One True Daily News from Supreme Overlord Un. I swear you nerf herders will call for anything you dislike to be nerfed. Go back to Destiny.

3 RespuestasIt's not the media's fault. The problem is the average person is such an idiot, that (s)he cannot critically think and accepts everything anyone in a perceived position of higher power says as the word of god.
-
4 Respuestas'Swhat happens with freedom of press, unfortunately. The most successful solution I can imagine is a totalitarian state that allows no freedom of press. :/
-
3 RespuestasHonestly the media have radicalized the American people into violent extremist. just look at all the shootings, riots, and brawls that have followed the elections. All I know is that something needs fixing before it gets out of hand.
-
2 RespuestasTruth? LOL. Most people only want to have their opinions validated and are not interested in facts.
-
6 RespuestasYES! LET'S POST ON THE INTERNET HOW THE WORLD IS SO CORRUPT, AND DO NOTHING ABOUT IT! WOO!
-
Why can't the news be boring and unbiased? I don't care about the Kardashians, I care about the people tearing themselves apart over disagreeing viewpoints.
-
Ok, I'll see you on the news when you decide to shoot up the station, just to prove your point
