Hey guys, Venomkyd117 here.
Recently, I got back into Destiny... and one of the main things that seems to have changed... is Strange Coins.
For those of you that aren't aware, Strange Coins primarily work as a currency, given to the Specialty Vendor, Xur... who only appears on Fridays and Saturdays in the Tower.
Xur sells a few useful things, the most prominent of which is Exotic weapons, Armor and Engrams.
Needless to say, Guardians flock to Xur each week like flies to a corpse, but buying his wares has always been easier said than done, since strange coins were always quite rare.
That is, until recently.
While playing in the Crucible, I noticed that I was amassing quite a stockpile of Strange coins... arguably an alarming amount!
In the space of a few days, I went from 20 Strange coins, to 94 of them!
There are two things about this that have my alarm bells ringing.
Firstly, there was no special trick to this MASSIVE influx of Strange coins, no farming Technique or dodgy glitch. This was a sustainable result from playing regular matches in the Crucible, which is a balancing issue in itself.
Secondly, since Xur sells Exotics, this makes it far too easy to get your hands on Exotics, which takes away any respect you might have for them.
In year one, Legendary's were EXTREMELY difficult to come across without an event or Vanguard Points, so when you did, you were always quite happy.
This went double for Exotics, since they were much harder to find than Legedary's... I was GIDDY when I found my Suros Regime... a feeling most new players might never have.
With the sudden influx of Strange Coins, it's now disgustingly easy to get your hands on Exotics at the end of each week, which essentially takes away from what made them so special in the first place.
What do you guys think? Are the Strange Coins too easy to get your hands on? Or is this new way of doing things good? Let me Know below, keep Vigilant... and keep your light strong!
