Titan Defenders- Is a buff needed here?

Defenders have been around plenty in PvE. PvP, as shown in bungies chart.......not so much. Defenders have only gotten one nerf and one buff. Nerf: Bubble will take damage and stay around less. Buff: Bubble will heal you, fully charge grenade and melee but only on super casting. Bubble also highly encourages, and i mean HIGHLY, encouages the use of a shotgun. I use the exotic gauntlets No Backup Plans as my prime example. The bubble also only really allows for that sort of play; lock down an area and keep it held at all costs while bringing home the beef with plenty of quick kills with a shotty (shotgun) The defender (bubble) subclass is also most likely he hardrst subclass to master since the super itself does no damage. It only allows for an opportunity to get alot of kills, if you are able to use and place the bubble in the right place. Since the defender bubble does no damage and requires the user and or team mates to be of any real use, other than the perks it provides on super cast, this is why i belive not many people use this subclass. Since this subclass does not allow for a guarenteed kill, has no ability to be a roaming super and is not a super damage dealing attack, it leaves many people seeking better/easier ways to secure kills in both PvE and PvP. Please leave your thoughts down below people on what you think this subclass needs based on my and your experiences and evidence. I want to (metaphorically since this is text) hear your opinions.   • I main defender and the only thing that could POSSIBLY be changed is that the bubble could be 1-2 meters larger.

I know I'll get Johnny torched for saying this but: Actually, I've been saying even before the data was released that they need a small nerf. I feel sick for saying the "n" word but the numbers don't lie. They have a 10% higher win % than the next highest subclass. That's staggering. Super generation for defenders is freaking insane. It has the highest learning curve of all the subclasses but as a man who has played fighters at a Competitive level for years can atest to, Tiers are determined by the top players NOT lower level players. This is a foreign concept to FPS players so I understand why most people on these forums do not understand this. Scrubs to midtier players think Defenders suck while good to elite players know they are great. HOWEVER! Only ONE of the following three changes need to be made and none of these will affect how most players play with Defenders: 1. The perk that reduces the cooldown of Ward of Dawn needs to be removed. Give it something that would give a small neutral game buff instead 2. It should make 1 big orb instead of two on activation. 3. It should make two small orbs on activation.       • Um I really don't think so. No backup plans universal remote has to be one of the best and most frustrating setups to play against in the entire game.

      • Allow the ONLY the caster to be able to take armor of light ouside the bubble but it behaves like blessing and weapons where the titan has to dip his toe back in the bubble to refresh it. Done.

      • honestly, the titan bubble just needs wolfpack rounds. the entire floor should be covered with chuck-e-cheese ball pit style wolfpack rounds.

        I want this!! "Titan exotic Gauntlets Gauntlets of Saint 14 "Not just his helm that served a purpose" Exotic Perk - Suppression of Light - any enemies who enter ward of dawn are suppressed (supers cancelled, movement slowed, abilities cannot be used)." I originally thought this would make a good perk in the defender Perk tree... but then I thought of how OP it would be coupled with helm of Saint 14.

        • Would like to see an Exotic that Rez's downed party members when you pop your bubble on them. And a deffinite rework of the Immobious shotgun, its just not a good gun at all and even worse since its THE TITAN SHOTGUN.

          • As someone who has "mastered" defender i can say that the only things i want changed, The health pool of the bubble needs to be increased a LOT, 1 shatter nova can pop 4 bubbles with a single super which is not fair in the slightest Change the instant recharge of grenade and melee ability to increase the grenade and melee charge rate while inside WoD (wether bungie wants this for all allies, only the defender or all defenders is up to them) The ability to max their armor. Why is the most defense based subclass out off all 9 not able to max its armor!? I will still use it as my primary subclass even if it never gets buffed but these buff might make more palyers give it a go and see how awesome it is.

            • Only better defense from supers while inside, and change the perk on Immobius to all buffs not just AoL.

            • The only thing that I wish Defender bubbles could have is if they would regenerate your health when you pass through it in addition to whichever bubble perk you chose. This would add a lot of extra utility without being OP and make it much easier for a Defender to use his/her bubble to engage back-to-back, successive targets. This is all they need in my opinion.

              It's not about its potential. It does fine now. However there is room for improvement. It's not a perfect super never to be changed. It can be improved upon. It's defense attributes are lacking. Getting a slide shotgun directly out of you non roaming super is dumb. Get a one shot snipe out of the non roaming super is weak. Guardians casual walking in find you and Melee you dead if you are not running armor of light or wear Helm of Saint 14. WoL could buff more for PVE and PVP. New raid bosses are way to hard to put down I doesn't hurt to make it a bit more lethal. And PVP is ok but it doesn't have the lethal support as shadow shot does. (orbs for days + deaths while trapped = happy storm caller or golden gun). Bubble orbs production got nerfed. WTF. BUNGIE BUFF THE SUPER or CREATE MANY MORE EXOTICS CHOICES TO ENHANCE IT. Really tho I'm biased, I believe super changes for all classes would be welcome. But not in the form of simple increase. But new NODES to choose from. New super Node would add some new life to these super. EXAMPLE Golden gun node that add a over shield after first kill. EXAMPLE Posion of Light. Giving teammates weapons a Thorn style DoT ability. (Necromancy Bubble). I would jus love this. Discuss.

              The Defender is a team player. Thy don't need awesome KDs to turn the tide in their teams favor I just played a Crucible match where the enemy team destroyed because of two defenders. Why? [i]Their team knew how to use the Bubbles.[/i] They would crowd in for the perks and kill anyone who got near. Now admittedly, the game mode was control, but they still won by a stupidly large margin. Conversely, I played a control match where our Defender didn't place the bubbles well at all, and none of us used them because of their placement

            • There's a reason why Defenders are the most uncommon subclass in the Crucible. And for all the people saying it's built for support, so are Nightstalkers, and they're damn good at PVP.

            • Tbh I'd like to see Suppression Grenades work on a timer, you can hold to explode on impact, or toss normally. St. 14 should get a perk that suppresses enemies who come inside, in addition to blinding (let's be honest, unless you're using FoH or NB against a St.14 bubble you were dead anyway). Other than that I'd keep it as is.

                It definitely needs a buff It's not even about kills it's about the super matching up. It needs better defense so the other super don't pop it like it wasn't event there. It sounds like an attempt to make Ward of Dawn seem amazing in the right hands but no matter who's playing it doesn't change the fact Ward of Dawn can't be relied upon as a means of defense, out side of a PvE. As a super meant for defense it has to block other super and force them wast everything (looking at Golden Gun) or have them risk going inside.

                • Supers have been nerfed/buffed quite a bit since day 1. And every time they do, someone usually draws the short straw, which IMHO has been the Titan class more often than not. Then you have exotics introduced which again reduces the Titan prowess, i.e. the Ram helmet for Warlocks. Simply put, each class should have an advantage to normal game play during a Super. But each class also should have perks that pertain directly to the class itself. The Titan was meant to be a juggernaut of sorts, nearly unbeatable in close-quarters combat but slow and not agile. The fact that a hunter can out duel me in close-quarters as any one of my Titan sub-classes is simply ridiculous. Note: I play one of each character so I have experience with each, but my Titan is my main.
