1. Acquiring the materials is a stupid grind.
- I get it, you're trying to stretch out the content but damn guys. I shouldn’t have to farm 150-250 materials to get 10 materials I need to move on. This was no fun and kinda killed the experience for me. Which is why I waited so long to complete it.
> if you do this again fix the system so I get a mat every 2-3 nodes.
2. Killing the warden and dark blade within 30 seconds.
- holy shit! This is broken! How come the quest will recognize I killed the warden but doesn't recognize I killed the dark blade in the same instance. So now I have to play the whole goddamn thing twice, or 3 times, just to finish the quest = dumb
> don't put a time limit on when I have to kill the boss, just let me kill him and move the fack on.
3. Wait for arms day materials?
- seriously?! WTF did I collect all of these materials for
> no more, goddamn guys you know this shit is stupid
4. No more crazy long quest lines
- I love long quests, I liked the SS quest, the BG quest, but these sword quests are dumb.
> make it more enjoyable for us, less than a grind and more of an adventure.
==== tequila fueled rant over, feedback follow ups below ====
Edit 1:
Wow, thanks everyone for your responses and sharing your thoughts, we were on the Trending page for a couple days, pretty rad. Time for some follow ups:
Gathering Materials:
- Some of you disagreed that this was a chore, you actually enjoyed it. I don't mind farming materials, but getting the special materials needed shouldn't be so spread out. Again, every 2-3 nodes should drop what you're looking for.
Are they worth it?
- Yes, if you havent tried to get one yet, I recommend that you do. If you only have 1 definitely go out and get the other 2. They are very fun to use and very powerful. Also, each one has its own special perks and attributes, which makes each one feel unique.
Long quest lines:
- I also love longer quest lines. I thought the SS and BG quest lines were fantastic and really enjoyed that it felt like I was working towards something. However, my complaint is filling quests with "busy work" to make them feel more in depth than they actually are. I think some of the steps in the sword quests could be evaluated and improved for future quests. I.E. no more busy work - make the steps fun.
Keep the feedback coming!

4 RespuestasYour obviously haven't been playing since Y1. I remember spending hours straight gathering Relic Iron and Spinmetal. It was much easier now with the ghosts then show resources

18 Respuestas
1. Acquiring the materials is a stupid grind.
It's SUPER easy with the right ghost.
2. Killing the warden and dark blade within 30 seconds.
Still Easy, Just don't be dumb and have a solid team. I was actually pleased with the challenge.
3. Wait for arms day materials?
Another Easy Step.
4. No more crazy long quest lines
Your Year 2 is showing...

1 Respuestadon't use swords so dont care, and knowing bungo you will get them for free in year 3 like everybody now gets the Thorn, super good advice , bad juju and so on. and there were some damn long bounties to get these guns..... The triumph thing good for year 2 nebs and the collectors.... a quest needs to be somewhat hard and long...before you get you price...;) pardon my language im Dutch

Editado por Mr.Spartan126: 7/15/2016 10:26:41 AMI got all 3 of mine in 2 weeks in October 2015. Hardly a grind in my opinion. The issue is only starting to come about because of the moments of triumph year 2. You just have a case of being Lazy.

I got dark drinker after launch, then moved on to the solar sword directly after. Did all the steps and then I just couldn't be -blam!-ed to do the boss fight unless I do it in a legitimate fireteam. Still have nightmares about the time wasted with randoms killing the Knights before even touching dark blade before my friends caught up with their sword quests and we could bang it out together.

Editado por SublimeZelda: 7/15/2016 8:06:08 AMWell I got it in a day or two. Materials part is kinda grindy but atleast you have a stockpile of materials by the end of it. Pro tip: Ascend all the swords when you get the quest that way you don't have to repeat it. Also you can take out all 3 wardens in 30 secs with the right team. I got the three swords in one run.
-
2 RespuestasYou probably killed alak hul first, you gotta kill the warden, THEN the darkblade. Happened to me my first sword, didn't make the same mistake again.
-
The material grind was so bad it was out right depressing. Just as bad as the triathalon event in GTA V (it's literally just spamming the A button as fast as possible continuously for 15-20 minutes). I did enjoy the 30 second kill window. It was fun, albeit hectic, keeping the warden knight alive for the majority of the fight. Too bad the quest is broken and it doesn't recognise you killed both dudes in time. The quest wasn't really long--it only had 4 or 5 parts (and you only had to do the Hadium flakes and PvP kills for your first sword, then could skip it for the next two)--but it was time consuming. As a final note, fuck Taken Acolytes with void shields. Just fuck them to hell.

Wasn't pretty hard for me. Did everything on Tuesday night to kill the boss a few hours later. Dark-drinker was the toughest of all grinds. 1 rare material after 10% every time. Bolt-caster and Raze-lighter got so much easier. All 10 mats in less than an hour. Even getting subclass kills took longer than grinding for the mats
-
Someone never grinded the same material farm for HOURS until you had enough to fully level your new VoG gear
-
2 RespuestasMats was only tedious part. And please ignore this guy, this game needs super long quest lines. I love playing this game and would love to not run out of things to chase every month or two.
-
This is off topic from your post OP but I'm just trying to get the post out there to help people! https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/209033489/0/0 For anyone who may need it and if you don't please give it a bump! Thanks guys
-
All three showed up in my postmaster, when I woke up this morning.
-
1 RespuestaI can't do this shit again. I'm super happy with the Dark Drinker. The only time I regretted not having one of the other swords was Raze Lighter for Omnigul Nightfall
-
2 RespuestasOnce a character has the exotic sword do they have to get the quest all over again to get another exotic sword?
-
I was a Titan and had to get void kills.
no one panicked when I popped a bubble, it got in t eye. :( ("_") :/
-
Just did Arc today. Going to do void tommorow. *sigh*
-
Two for one? Grab round 4! It's free
-
I was picking up chests too to try to force extra node spawns. 433 helium later.
-
I've got all 3 also. And I totally agree. The elemental kills and the materials grind is just bullshit.
-
Yup, I was wondering why the hell did they approve that horrendous grind. I grind out all 3 swords mats and fudge. That was probably the worst experience i ever had on Destiny.
-
2 RespuestasYour favorite of the three?
-
1 RespuestaThat last line made me laugh! 👌
-
1 RespuestaI enjoyed the grind, thanks Bungie. ~TheGreatNike
-
3 RespuestasThis is why I don't have an exotic sword and most likely never will have one.
-
I guess that's why I stopped at one exotic sword. Well that and the fact that I only have one Guardian who really uses exotic heavies.
