I have been a player since Alpha on PS4. I have experienced all the ups and downs this game has had to offer since Day 1. Some ups were better than others, but for the amount of ups there were/are, there have been so many more downs. Some I kind of understood, where some were just like WTF?
From the awesomeness of the Gjallarhorn to the absolute destruction Bungie imposed on it pre-TTK release.
From the beast called Thorn to it's absolute destruction POST TTK.
From being able to to play our way to continuously being told by Bungie that they don't want us playing our way.
From having an awesome flaming head after completing the brutal, yet very rewarding Nightfall, to the removal of the flaming heads and Nightfalls being absolutely pointless. (Rewards such as horn kits and low level ghosts not helping at all.)
From having an awesome assortment of elemental primaries that you continually swap depending on particular situations, to them becoming year 1 relics that just take up space in our vaults in hopes to see their former glory once again. (After all, Luke Smith doesn't want us playing with those.)
From being a place to play as a lone wolf to DeeJ pretty much cramming the word clan down people's throats. After all, if you aren't part of a 24/7 6 man clan, thanks for the money, but you won't hit max light. Sucks for lone wolves, but Bungie will gladly accept your money, regardless.
From Luke Smith telling us we'll throw money at the screen to him comparing all Destiny players intelligence to that of a 4yr old girl. (That's why he goes to the movies alone).
From DeeJ not communicating with the community for over a year(unless it was to be a smug, smartass douchebag), to getting Cozmo to handle the community with the ever so infamous, "I'll add that to the wish list". We love the humor, Cozmo.
To working and grinding our asses off with Raid after Raid in Y1 to get the most sought after items(Mythoclast, anyone?), to the pointless Taken King raid just to get items for infusion. No elemental primaries! Worst weapons of ANY raid! Crap ass perks! Stupid ass light system! No guaranteed 335 items with while using 335 characters! How is this a "Smart Loot" system?
From preferring other Destiny sites for feedback than your own damn forums, that speaks volumes on how Bungie feels about us.
To having the Community Focus ONLY focus on try hard streamers. Yeah, we know DeeJ. Your idea of community only pertains to streamers.
From a guy with glasses that sits in a homeless mans chair to a bald guy who continually sounds like he's getting kicked in the nuts by a horny goat, I see why DeeJ prefers the streamers.
From Jon Weisnewski showing us bullshit charts in regards to balance to him actually admitting on a podcast his goal is NOT balance. Apparently, even if it was, he would still have absolutely no clue as to how to actually achieve it. I mean, they are still nerfing Thorn in year 2! If he actually had a clue, this would be unnecessary. I just don't understand a company that has been around for 25yrs and still can't balance a weapon.
From Harold Ryan getting his ass fired by Activision to Pete Parsons becoming a damn mute after the first day he got promoted, I haven't witnessed anything that makes me feel confident we are in better hands.
From getting weapons and gear in year 1raids that actually meant something to having to possibly get 9 of the exact weapon or gear to hopefully be a higher light level so we can level up. (Apparently a light switch went off and infusion was introduced in April).
From the great Peter Dinklage and Dinklebot struggling to read a butchered script to Nolan North taking over as ghost sounding like someone going through puberty being conflicted if they want to be a boy or girl.
From getting the infamous Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence or even the Crux of Crota, to completing the Raid quest for Touch of Malice and thinking, "That's a let down". I have honestly never heard anyone say they want to do Kings Fall because they want a particular weapon other than infusion purposes.
From meeting some like minded people on the forums to the people that are still so blinded from drinking the Bungie Kool-Aid, we all have one common goal- To have FUN!
A few weeks ago, I realized that fun was gone for my team and I. We would play like clockwork every week. Then we all came to the realization that unless we actually get off this hamster wheel, we'll continue running in circles for the next 8yrs. I figure after 2yrs, if Bungie doesn't even know what kind of game this is supposed to be by now, what chance do we have of making a difference? Another thing, 2yrs later, and they still can't stabilize their server issues. For an Always online game, that's inexcusable.
To top it off, as far as underhanded things go, bringing Gjallarhorn in to start Year 3, but only if you pay $30 for it, is beyond a dick move. That's complete and total disrespect to the whole community. I hope people don't expect much from the $30 Gjallarhorn. I pretty much will call it as big a disappointment as the Sleeper Simulant being time locked behind a mission.
For the peope who still enjoy this game, carry on that enjoyment and have fun! For people like me who are tired of the way Bungie is in it's current form, I'm with you and I'm just tired of being on this hamster wheel to nowhere. Hopefully one day Bungie not only give you the game you want, but also deserve!
Peace out friends and as Mickey Mantle said to Roger Maris in the 1961 Home Run Race, "I'm out. I'm done. It's up to you now". Good luck to you all!
Thanks for the memories!! That was the best part.
TL:DR. Thanks for the memories! I'm out!

Insightful posts here, for and against. I found the topic interesting enough to comment on... My clan has all but bid me farewell since the division dropped. It became that much more popular to s*** on destiny. I never felt like that; it's been a lot of fun playing since the beta. Prior to this, my last Fps game was goldeneye, I s*** you not. Destiny's story, competitive gameplay, unique skills and weapons are good money, as far as this Guardian is concerned. Lol. There have definitely been times when I had to take a break. First iron banner, I was like 500rep away from earning the cloak. Grinding into the early morning, reset dashed those hopes. 2 months later, with the salt out of my bloodstream, I was back. I played the division with friends, but I quit that early. Had some heated conversations, and comparisons. In the end, everyone agreed with me that it had less substance than destiny, after a month or two. In the end, it's all about the player. Bungie seems fairly responsive to me. Most games don't get, or need, this type of constant follow up. If you're not having fun anymore, time to move on! It is about fun, right? Cheers

7 RespuestasI got off the hamster wheel two weeks after 335 release. I haven't looked back. To many games vying for attention. I felt robbed when they bundled everything together for new taken king players but gave 0 fcks for the year one veterans. I had a season pass and got a 0 cent discount where as new players got everything and at bargain price. Been around since beta but won't get back on unless they bundle taken king with lord of iron.

6 RespuestasDon't let the door hit you on the way out. It's not like you're buying a weapon for the next DLC. Imagine this being another $30 game. It's not like it's another rip off. If you look at vanilla destiny, without all the add-ons and other DLC, many of you paid $60 for that game, others the collector's edition. TTK took up less space than Destiny on day 1. Rise of Iron is now going to be another full game. New areas, new content. It's going to be as big as Destiny on day 1. So you say $30 is a waste, go back to making those micro-transactions on other games such as CoD and Halo. Obviously you have no idea what is and isn't a waste of money. Good riddance to you.

Editado por dstojkov: 7/16/2016 10:34:09 AMwell, To be honest the majority of players from year 1 are tired of bungie decisions and direction for the game... I would say: something has changed internally in bungie's office ... the like team swap or worst major/key people behind destiny's concept were fired .. I mean this is not possible that the same team from year 1 could produce year 2 ... IMPOSSIBLE Just wanted to state something about leadership: Lot of office's header really think everyone is replaceable ... This is the best and fastest way to get your own rule being applied to yourself Year 3 will be a big turn, if you don't come back to the source of destiny a big pan of the community will leave

I stopped playing for all the reasons you've stated, great post. I come back to the forums now and then in the hopes thing might improve. I look forward to destiny 2 but I won't be pre ordering or buying a season pass.

2 RespuestasI stopped playing right before TK released for many of the reasons you stated and I likely wouldn't have returned if my wife didn't purchase TK about five months after it released. Long story short I gave it another shot and while I enjoyed the minor changes to the story aspect (Which should have been a no brainer for a developer like Bungie) it was simply just more of the same, nothing new and innovating, no solo end game potential to add variety, just a lot of bravado but really the same concepts rehashed again which is exactly what this next DLC is as well, more of the same nonsense and with the removal of last gen I expected a lot more than that! Most of my friends, roughly thirty, stopped playing before TK dropped, having been annoyed with various things from Luke Smiths comments to the removal of year 1 items, making the enjoyment we had for the year basically pointless so I completely understand this sentiment. With the recent nerfs completely destroying my personal favorite subclass (Sunsinger) for no good reason other than its creating "frustration" (In PVP mind you) I have been really disappointed with what I am seeing happen to this game. I can see that Bungie is going to do whatever it is they like and only "balance" based on what is used the most and not with what actually needs to be fixed and it sets a frightening precedent. Oddly enough they keep the players in line with minor tweaks like more vault space or pretty colors but don't give them matchmaking, separation of pve and pvp or any of the things they request that could add longevity to the game. Sadly the community has become nothing more than a bunch of "yes men" now, for lack of using a better word and Bungie will just milk them, doing whatever it wants for no actual reason other than noticing that the community is using something too much for their liking. Its really the worst form of "balance" I have ever seen and the most idiotic thing I have ever heard from any game developer and it disgusts me and disappoints me that the community isn't fighting for the game they supposedly love so much. Kudos to you for saying something, Take care former guardian and good luck!

That's complete and total disrespect to the whole community. I hope people don't expect much from the $30 Gjallarhorn. I pretty much will call it as big a disappointment as the Sleeper Simulant being time locked behind a mission.
Stop right there. EVERYONE, regardless of whether they pre-order RoI or not, gets Gjallarhorn through a quest in game. The ONLY difference pre-ordering makes is if you want the black and silver skin instead of white and gold. And if you are only paying $30 for the Gjallarhorn, then that's just sad man. The $30 gives you more than just Gjallarhorn. You get new story, new area, new raid, new Crucible, and new weapons and armor besides Gjallarhorn. You sound like someone who is upset Bungie isn't just giving away everything for free. You are super -blam!-ing entitled. Muted. EDIT: Also, delete your Guardians or I will not believe that you are done with the game. See you next week sunshine. EDIT 2: Can't believe the entitlement people have. "I want Year 3 weapons and armor but I dont want to pay the money to get them! WTF Bungie you guys are assholes for wanting money to continue producing more content for us!" Never mind that this expansion is LESS THAN TTK which was 40 bucks, and no one complained about the price of that. Pay the 30 bucks like an adult, or stop playing once September hits. I seriously wish sometimes Deej or Cosmo would tell all you entitled brats to take a hike, but they won't cause they want your money.

Well, Pokemon Go is out now. Go outside, explore your community, meet new people that all have something in common with you. Or just hang tight and wait for September when big titles start releasing.

118 RespuestasEditado por Smithy: 7/14/2016 4:05:14 AMPeople are taking you seriously. My smile and optimism: gone.
From the awesomeness of the Gjallarhorn to the absolute destruction Bungie imposed on it pre-TTK release.
It's still the best rocket launcher by far. That's not diminished, not destroyed.
From the beast called Thorn to it's absolute destruction POST TTK.
"Beast" is a funny way to spell "bullshit." A ubiquitous gun that is as powerful as it is annoying.
From being able to to play our way to continuously being told by Bungie that they don't want us playing our way.
Define "you-way." AFAICT post-April Update has more ways to hit max light than any time in Y1.
From having an awesome flaming head
No reward XP boost -> no neurotic impulse to complete Nightfall first, as unfortunate as it is. Given that Bungie has been accused to trying to make Destiny crack, I think you'd be happy with this.
after completing the brutal
Hiding on a ledge is not brutal. Y1 nightfall were a joke aside from Taniks. Y2 nightfall are actually hard (read: annoying)
yet very rewarding
Like that time I got my third Alpha Lupi... I mean the time I got 13 strange coins... Oh, that one time I got Gjallarhorn. Yeah, totally rewarding.
Rewards such as horn kits and low level ghosts not helping at all
Some appreciate the cosmetics. It would be worse if they were still given in exchange of a piece of gear.
From having an awesome assortment of elemental primaries that you continually swap depending on particular situations
You mean Fatebringer and two other guns. Nobody actually kept around multiple elementals because they all did the same shit.
From being a place to play as a lone wolf
Literally when. Cheesing Crota? Solo'ing PoE? You can't do that shit now?
After all, if you aren't part of a 24/7 6 man clan, thanks for the money, but you won't hit max light.
IB, Nightfall, Gunsmith, Cryptard, CoE can be done solo. And this is more generous than Y1.
From Luke Smith telling us we'll throw money at the screen
And yet people -blam!-ing did
to him comparing all Destiny players intelligence to that of a 4yr old girl.
Gonna need source on you taking this joke out of context.
To working and grinding our asses off with Raid after Raid in Y1 to get the most sought after items(Mythoclast, anyone?),
You mean VoG. Because CE had about as many good items as KF, only the raid exotic was both harder to acquire and less useful. PoE had nice exotics but the weapons were a joke.
to the pointless Taken King raid just to get items for infusion
>gives you items to make your favorite items stronger >pointless
No guaranteed 335 items with while using 335 characters!
1) get one 335 2) use loot to infuse on other characters 3) ??? 4) profit ^ maybe to avoid that?
From preferring other Destiny sites for feedback than your own damn forums
Most other sites have a better self-moderating community that doesn't dissolve into salt pits every day. When the top post here is almost always "Bungie do this unreasonable idea!" or "Bungie you suck!" it's not hard to see why they may. But honestly you have no source for that, only your own personal feelings.
To having the Community Focus ONLY focus on try hard streamers.
I didn't know he was a streamer
From Jon Weisnewski showing us bullshit charts in regards to balance to him actually admitting on a podcast his goal is NOT balance.
The mental gymnastics here is astounding. Not trying to achieve perfect balance != not trying to achieve any balance at all.
If he actually had a clue, this would be unnecessary.
Thorn was still the preferred primary in sweaties in Y2 because it was the most reliable kill.
I just don't understand a company that has been around for 25yrs and still can't balance a weapon.
A 25-yo company whose previous most complicated weapon was "pull trigger grenade explodes." Different shit.
From getting weapons and gear in year 1raids that actually meant something to having to possibly get 9 of the exact weapon or gear to hopefully be a higher light level so we can level up.
Meant so much when everyone still ran Fatebringer in CE because why the hell not, those weapons sucked dick.
From getting the infamous Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence or even the Crux of Crota
VoG, VoG, CE. CE option wasn't even good. Nothing from PoE, nothing from Trials, because a) Y1 wasn't all that hot relatively and b) you're just nostalgia tripping.
to completing the Raid quest for Touch of Malice and thinking, "That's a let down".
Bungie makes the Raid exotic great for doing the raid and 100% non-RNG due to people's complaints, and then people complain.
I have honestly never heard anyone say they want to do Kings Fall because they want a particular weapon other than infusion purposes.
You have never heard someone want a Qullims' or a Yasmin? You play with shit people.
A few weeks ago, I realized that fun was gone for my team and I. We would play like clockwork every week.
Congratulations for realizing you have a problem. Here's hoping you end up identifying the source of it instead of trying to blame others.
To top it off, as far as underhanded things go, bringing Gjallarhorn in to start Year 3, but only if you pay $30 for it, is beyond a dick move.
And to end, if you're buying RoI just for Gjalalrhorn, you're as much of a -blam!-ing idiot as that guy who buys things on the Bungie store for ebmlems.

Editado por iPatrikolby: 7/13/2016 7:15:36 PMWell said. The worst thing is you could've gone on for pages more about all the issues and problems with this version of Destiny. In the end the saddest part is that Destiny had so much promise but Bungie failed to deliver on any of it. Late.

5 RespuestasWell said. The community continues to shrink until only fan boys are left. Guess what fan boys, there's not enough of you for this game to remain profitable. A product sells best by word of mouth. Destiny is laughed at by the gaming community which is why the numbers are dwindling, not growing. This is why bungle will only ever publish the number of people who tried the game, not the number actually playing. I guarantee, if the number of people actually playing was growing, they'd be sporting it from the rooftops. Oh well. Another great concept ruined by idiot managers.

The perfect résumé mate, you just pinpointed perfectly everything that is wrong in this game and why people are leaving....
