Trials of Carrysirus

So I tried ToO this weekend again... We wasted 3 cards in the first round against 2200 and higher elo players. My team and I are around 1200, and play together a lot. See the problem here Bungie? The solution to make ToO fun for everyone is simple: players can travel to the lighthouse once per character, per weekly reset. This wil stop the streamers carrying players, and even players who pay real money for a carry. We've played 4 cards yesterday, and only one team we encountered had a full team of high elo players. Most of the teams are with one player above 2000 and two with 900 or so. The 4th card was a lot of fun als ToO can be. We played against players with the same elo or a bit higher, so we had to try hard, but it was fun. Is there a fix in de making, or -blam!- the regular players and long live the streamers? Just asking, kind regards Edit: Seeing the reactions it's about 50/50. I was just curious, I will never be carried and I will keep playing. See you

  • I find it funny how scary people think streamers can be. I swear now that I have some trials experience under my belt I no longer worry about, scarab emblems, 1k stares, and "streamers". The mental game in trials is important, don't get worked up over the enemys stats or emblems, I don't look up players elo before a game, just loadouts and which weapons they get kills with.

  • No thats not how you fix it What you need to do is take the team add all the times theve been flawless then divide by 3, to get the average, then put them in a bracket with the other teams that have that many average flawless runs. The brackets could be: Never been flawless 1-4 averags flawless wins 5-9 average flawless wins 10-16 average flawless wins 17-25 average flawless wins 26-35 average flawless wins 36-50 average flawless wins 50 and above average flawless wins

You do realize that the ONLY thing keeping Destiny "on the map", on youtube and on twitch is streamers doing Trials carries, right?
That and the false notion that those people watching will one day be able to do the things they see kjhovey or Wish you Luck do

*Pssst* They never will, just don't tell them that
Think about it, without putting yourself in the center of the universe for one second: Twitch is the biggest game promoting tool available to existing games at this point and the only thing keeping Destiny in the Top 10 in the Twitch directory is Trials carries. That is a fact. I'm sorry, but it's true. It sucks for the average Joe guardian, but I can't help you there. Deal with it. Without Trials this game would have died loong ago, as everyone said it would.
Just notice how many people watch Destiny streams during the week, as opposed to how may people watch it over the weekend when Trials is active
Twitch keeps people watching for a chance to get their sorry bums carried to 9-0 and Trials is the only thing keeping people from switching to CoD in massive numbers, like Noah just tweeted about finishing his Ark and hearing something on the news about a rainy weekend ahead.
Great metaphor is -blam!-ing epic, I know
People watch Kraftyy because there's only so many hours you can waste per day watching Broman do his "frat party for 5th graders show" or Angry Iceberg's stupid face hover in front of another pointless raid... Before you think about Star Wars Battlefront "not being THAT bad, really". Trials keeps streamers fed, while streamers promote Destiny during a "content drought" (which is 90% of the time when Destiny is concerned).
Seriously, every DLC and expansion lasted a whole week before people went back to inflating their eGo online and trying to be "MLG Pro" enough so they can dip their tbag on anyone they meet in pvp
So the day Bungie removes Trials, without replacing it with something equally hard and unreachable for most people, is the day they hammer thier own coffin shut on Destiny.

      • Man shut up already, damn. Trials is the most competitive game mode available in destiny, so where the hell do you think all the streamers and top tier players are going to congregate? It's not rocket science dude. Nobody is forcing you to participate, you willingly bought a card and threw yourself into trials with teammates that you CHOSE to play with. These are decisions that YOU made yourself. Don't like it? Don't participate. That is yet another choice that you are able to make. But don't try and push more "fixes and maintenance" in this game, that doesn't need to be there. If you want to participate in a competitive game mode, expect to be matched up against competitive players. Everybody has to deal with it the same, everybody has the same risk of matching up against 2k+ elo gods, and all you can do if that happens is play it out. But there is no reason to complain about something so ridiculous. You want to participate in a very competitive aspect of destiny, alright, but don't expect the game to cater to you so that every game will go your way. That's not how it works.

        • There should be a tiered system to trials passages. There's no way in hell that a team just getting started (first time ever) in trials should go up against a team of 3 consisting of 2 streamers. Your trials passage should be tiered according to some criteria e.g. games won, lighthouse visits or something like that.

I'm sure bungie will tweak some of the matchmaking settings with the new dlc bc of the complaints, buy it won't be anything to make it significantly less challenging. You just have to face the facts you're going up against teams that want to be competitive and work and play well together, and you're going to have really skilled streamers stomping average players. Average teams do make it to the lighthouse bc they can communicate and work together, it's as simple as finding 2 other players and doing 3v3 together all the time.

I have to agree with this guy at some points. Used to go Flawless before maybe once or twice a week. Sometimes I didn't. But in the last couple of weeks I'm not capable of doing it anymore. Firebase delphi was the map where I got completely destroyed. The whole week I've got matched up against Carries. So I pretty much gave up on that map. I tried it again this week. Since Widow's court showed up. I used to hate the sniper challenges each time. But it turned out I did good on this map. Which made this map on of my favorites for Trials. But the sad thing was that I really did my best to get all the way up to 8 wins with Mercy and then we got matches up against 2 Carries, twice in a row! K/d's of 2+ / Elo's of 1900+. Great play from 13 Angles Clan tho. I'm not gonna lie. JWiLL552 and BeatsByWhoHD did a great job to carry that guy Flawless! But sadly I didn't went Flawless. We'll see how next week goes..

            • If you can't make it past 1-2 wins in trials I highly recommend you find other end game methods.

You're on Playstation as am I. There are less than 1,000 of us above 2,000 & only 289 at 2,200 or higher. I regularly go on rather large win streaks just to find some guys in the upper tier of elo. & I rarely ever see someone interesting with even 20 game streaks. As much as I'd like to look into your history & say you're wrong with certainty, I'll take a gamble & say there's no way you played 3 players above 2,200 in 3 cards & even if by chance you did, that's only 3 losses out of the 6 it takes to lose 3 cards. You say you're around 1,200 which is the starting point for elo. That means you guys will have it rough. Everyone struggles at some point but if all you do is complain about it, you'll never get past it. In the meantime though there are those of us that help others through. Yeah it sucks to lose against a carry but think about the person we're helping out that might not stand a chance otherwise.
People who pay for carries should be banned though
• a few weeks back we've got matched against the nr.3 in the world or so, on the first match. Just saying For a guy like me, that is just watching at the screen how a skating Warlock whiped me of the face of the earth. Props for that guy and how he does that, but I will never ever gonna compete with that

Not to be rude but even one person with 2200 ELO would have an easy time going up against three people with 1200 ELO each. Another pointless forum post about streamers carrying in Trials that has no relevance at all.

Add matchmaking, more casuals will play. Should make it a bit more fun for the average player. Not that I even bother anymore. And before long those who keep trying to go flawless will give up.
