With all the gun control threads, I figured I'd add one more to the mess because none of the others asked this question.
Lefties are always demanding to do this and that regarding gun control laws and banning these "military style" "assault weapons" has been one of their constant demands. But what is an "assault weapon". It's not a fully automatic gun, because those are already mostly illegal (though the term is obviously designed to confuse idiots and make them think it's full auto). But they apply the term to any gun that makes them shit their pants. Which apparently isn't hard if we take that "writer" Kuntzman (with extra emphasis on the Kuntz) as an example (to clarify, this guy was the pussy who claimed he got PTSD and a bruised shoulder after shooting an AR-15).
So here's the rules: define an "assault weapon". You can't just use brand names or models like Colt or AR-15. You have to define the features which make a rifle bannable. And why should these features be considered as much.

3 RespuestasI can't say I'm interested in banning weapons, but when I think "assault weapons" I generally think of weapons that go beyond defensive purposes and have increased lethality. For example; I don't think a rifle that shoots armor piercing rounds is the most effective thing for home defense or hunting. Not that you can own armor piercing rounds as far as I'm aware, but that's what comes to mind.

2 RespuestasEditado por Braun700: 7/9/2016 12:41:57 AMNormally an assault weapon is any semi-automatic firearm with a detachable magazine and a pistol grip.
I don't agree with that. I believe any weapon used in a crime is an assault weapon.
1 RespuestaI don't know why people are up in arms about banning 'scary' rifles when if you like at the data, deaths by handguns far exceed those by rifles- even though the number of handguns and rifles are fairly close.
