That exists: it's called playing low level activities. Being able to relax and fight enemies that have become weaker than you because you've gone through the endgame content is already in the game. Nightfall (and to a lesser extent heroic strikes) IS part of the endgame, it's supposed to be harder.
No not really though, in Borderlands I can go back to the very first area and enemies can barely do more than one damage to me, I go to patrol on Earth in Destiny and I can get two-hit by a level 4 captain with twin swords. Heroic strikes are what, 260 light? That is not endgame, and neither are NFs really considering they can't drop max light gear. My point is, I beat the hardest content this game has to offer, I should get something for it that says "hey look I'm actually powerful". VoG and CE set the standard for end-game rewards, and now what do we have? The only two decent weapons in KF are the sniper and the machine gun, everything else is laughable as a weapon, they tried too hard to make cocoon a useful perk by giving every gun an abysmal reload time in the hopes that we'd actually think it was a good perk to have. No. It's shit. All of the KF guns are shit. No-one can seriously tell me that this is fun compared to year one. Give me back my good guns, or give me an excuse to remove them that's better than "it's no fun to have elemental primaries" because f**k my life year one was fun as shit and you developers don't play your own damn game. I remember running Nightfalls on rainbow burn solo when I could get kicked back to orbit if I died, THAT was fun. It was challenging, and yet rewarded you for finishing the ACTUAL endgame. Now Nightfalls are just another chore on the checklist for this game. They've drained the fun out of the game by removing everything that made you feel like you were powerful Actually you know what, the fact that so many people used Zhalo in the arc weekly proves exactly my point, powerful guns are fun, and fun is exactly what this game needs in order to live. No more needs to be said than that.

NF is endgame, sorry. NF is not meant to be relaxing. If you find it a chore, then I think that's your issue with Destiny, not elemental primaries. You talk about wanting to relax while sinking into this power fantasy where nothing can challenge you, my example of low level activities fits the bill.

I never said NF was relaxing lmfao, I actually said exactly the opposite
I remember running Nightfalls on rainbow burn solo when I could get kicked back to orbit if I died, THAT was fun. It was challenging, and yet rewarded you for finishing the ACTUAL endgame.
I was able to both one-shot something, AND be one-shot myself. It was like Heaven or Hell mode on DMC.
You talk about wanting to relax while sinking into this power fantasy where nothing can challenge you, my example of low level activities fits the bill.
Once again, no they don't, I'll refer you back to
in Borderlands I can go back to the very first area and enemies can barely do more than one damage to me, I go to patrol on Earth in Destiny and I can get two-hit by a level 4 captain with twin swords.
Although I really don't expect you to take in anything that I say. You actually avoided probably 80% of my post just to say something that isn't even true, so why I expect you to add anything worthwhile to this conversation is beyond me.
If you find it a chore, then I think that's your issue with Destiny, not elemental primaries.
With modifiers like match game and trickle? Yeah sure that's my issue, lmfao whatever. You can't add in shit like that and simultaneously take AWAY the only things that make those modifiers bearable, and call it fun. If you think it's fun, I GUARANTEE that YOU are in the minority on that decision.

Bro, at this point you're even contradicting yourself. Either come up with a real argument or just stay home. Let me reiterate for you my point: elemental primaries made the game too easy. They did this by allowing an individual to have a load out that was self-sufficient and had just about no weaknesses. It also lead to less variety in primary choices. on a side note,I have no issue with match game or trickle because I'm actually good at the game. Match game requires you to think about your weapon choices and coordinate with teammates. Trickle, while one of the more difficult modifiers, is about careful timing of when to use a certain ability and makes the player choose between weapons and armor that grant bonuses to super regen or other various bonuses depending on what other modifiers there are. Good game design is about making choices. I'm not talking about having "options," as you have said, but about forcing the player to make choices based various levels of input. Elemental primaries made it so that the choices the player had to make were few: based on burn and enemy type, the player would choose one of three primaries with elemental damage to carry them through an encounter. Now that elemental primaries are out, I feel that you have to actually think about what your special, heavy, and subclass are going to be, as well as having to choose your own loadout around that of the other members of your fireteam.

"I'm good at the game" gtfo with that shit, PvE is easy as all hell, Dishonored on Master Assassin is more challenging than this game even with Trickle or match game. On match game it can take me over a full clip to down a shield and by the time I've reloaded it's all the way back up. That is not "challenging". That is a straight up boring chore that pisses people off. Have you played PvE with Juggler and Match Game? You run out of ammo so fast that even your synths don't reactivate quick enough. You think that THAT was something that was good for the game? You think that making people sit and wait for synths to reactivate just for ONE weapons worth of ammo is a challenge? Laughable. It's not challenging in the slightest, it's a boring timewaster that you have no control over. Actually, when shit combinations like that appear, people come onto the forums and say "I'm not doing NF this week" and MOST PEOPLE would AGREE with them. They're shit modifiers.
Good game design is about making choices. I'm not talking about having "options," as you have said, but about forcing the player to make choices based various levels of input. People don't like being shoehorned into one playstyle, people like to choose their own loadouts without people saying "no you can't do that" because it feels like you're not playing the way you want to play. You said Trickle forces you to use certain things if you want your abilities, well guess what, most people DON'T like that, because they want to play their own way. If we had elemental primaries, people at least had the choice of using THEM or using something else if they wanted the game to be more challenging. But like I've said multiple times already, I KILLED GODS, by logic I am already more powerful than every other enemy in the game until the next expansion. That statement alone trumps literally any other shitty excuse you might be able to come up with.

the game is more of a challenge for u now? elemental primaries meant at least making a choice to suit ur situation. Now it really doesnt matter what primary u use. A gun is a gun and pretty much any gun will get the job done. I'll take variety over guns not being special
-
If you take variety over guns then now is better than when 3 (but really 2) elemental primaries were the standard. Oops, you proved me right.
-
Or u proved urself to be a bit slow....Yeah maybe there were two. But id take two unique guns over 100 "different" guns that have no variation between them. This week has arc burn for the NF. What are u bringing? Zhalo if u got 2 brain cells to rub together. Next week if its small arms what r u gonna bring? The answer: who cares cause it doesnt make a difference what u use as a primary. They dont offer any advantage over a different one so ur choice for your perceived variety is irrelavant
